When the sensors are placed on doors, they will send multiple "open" notifications a minute, even when the doors are closed. I turned off all door notifications because of the annoyance, which means the sensor is just hanging out. Not protecting anything. And I wouldn't be able to tell if it was really open anyways. I got this system for free from my home insurance provider, and it reduces the cost of my policy, so it's not a total waste. But still 1* because the system does not work.

Update: both sensors are junk. this is a responce to Notions responce that they are a small team. If you are a small team that cant provide user guidance then rolling your product out with home insurance is a terrible plan. The product doesn't work. It sends useless notifications. The user experience team is unhelpful and slow to respond. The installation process has frustrating and endless loops with no help or guidance. I only use it for the discount. Cute size.

I have since removed motion from my door sensors; effectively now just temperature sensors. Tired of notifications while home. The "don't notify when home" doesn't work and yes.. I've emailed support.... Previous: I think the integration with 3rd parties is going backwards. Notion needs to be accessed BY others, not Notion accessing others. Example: I want to be able to have a Samsung SmartThings light turn on if a notion door sensor moves. Or turn on an Arlo camera if notion detects water...

Same issues I've read in other previews. Been trying to connect bridge for way over an hour. Plug in, unplug, reset button. Left bridge unplugged as un installed app, reinstalled, plugged in bridge. App, at one point said configuring, green light glowing, fading in/out like it was thinking. Bridge started flashing read, app said configuration error. Bridge started flashing green, app said connecting...then disconnected. Frustrated at this point. I give up!! My patience tonight is done!

To be fair with my review im using the 1st gen system and they're on the 3rd gen. In the beginning I really liked the system although im experiencing a lot of the same bugs as the beginning such as false notifications and sensors continuiously losong connection despite batteries being ok. I did believe these issues would be ironed out over time but never seem to notice an improvement over the last couple years. Its a cool system but seems to behind others in reliability.

Unlike the reviews I read before I performed installation, I had no problems at all connecting to the bridge or connecting sensors afterwards. I got this package for free from Hippo insurance, which provides a discount if you use it. I placed the bridge in a central part of my home and the sensors on two doors. I will say when you turn the sensors on the first time by removing the tab, if you scan it right away they're not recognized, it needs like 30-60 seconds before to connect.

HORRIBLE set up!!! Still cannot figure out how to get this set up. I've gone over the instructions on the app repeatedly and it still says it can't connect to my wi-fi, can't find sensors, etc. I have my android wi-fi turned on, location on and plugged the bridge close to the wi-fi as well and still it searches and can't find it. I went to the Notion website and watched the tutorial and my app does not give me any of the instructions that tutorial shows. Just brings up a page for me to add the sensors, but then won't find them by scanning the code, does not have the Notion brand shown and I have no other way to find it to add them. Really angry and frustrated right now!!!!

This came free with my Hippo home insurance policy. I have spend a full hour trying to set it up, but the app is terrible. There are even spelling errors in the setup text...you have to be joking? I can't for the life of my get this thing to connect to my home network. Going to now have to deal with calling support. Unfortunate. Edit: Moving this to two stars due to excellent customer service. Had a call to attempt to fix the issue, resulting in a "nothing can be done" situation. Oh well.

At first these sensors did not want to work correctly. Even after proper set up I was continuing to get open door readings on closed doors all the time. It would just always say open, so if it actually was opened it never alerted. I also got a lot of ghost notifications when the door was indeed closed. I contacted support and they were actually very helpful and they looked into the issue. I reset the sensors and did some minor modifications and right now they work as intended!

Please don't waste your'e time and all the trouble it takes to get this system up and running. The start-up system was sent to me free by my homeowners insurance co. After spending for all the upgrades and extra sensors, the system has been nothing but trouble' I even had to upgrade to an android phone to integrate the system to get it to work. Then all hell broke loose with false alerts and failed bridges. I purchased another new bridge and that won't install. I contacted Notion but were not helpful enough to get the system started again over the phone. Even after I received some helpful tips in the way of paths to follow and try and following all the troubleshooting tips on the i-phone and website, the bridges won't connect. I've checked my wi-fi signal, my internet connection accesses for all apps, as well as permissions, etc. I now have 3 full days trying over and over all the different tips, instructions to the letter to no avail. The bridges will not connect to the system. I have no working alarm system now and I give up. It wasn't worth all the time and expense I've gone through to have a system that started out free and added expenses and trouble to have. Save yourself from this fiasco!

Received a complimentary starter kit from my home-owners insurance, and after seeing the recent reviews for the app I was expecting the worst - but in fact my experience has been nearly perfect. The app walks you through simple instructions to set up the base and the 2 included sensors, and the whole thing was up and running within 10 minutes. I put the sensors on my garage door (for open/close) and on the floor of the laundry room (leak detection). I tested the water sensor with a little puddle and got an alert on my phone within 30 sec. The garage door sensor has been 100% reliable so far. The temp readings from both sensors are also a nice bonus. As for unwanted phone alerts, they can be enabled individually for home, away, and/or night, so unwanted alerts really aren't a problem. I would only recommend a 2-piece magnet sensor for a window or swinging door, and the false alarms from these 1-piece sensors seem to be a common problem. But as orientation sensor (garage) or water (laundry) sensor, they've been perfect. I don't often leave reviews, but my experience has been great and I felt like this product was being unfairly down-voted by people that don't really understand what the sensors are capable of.

During the setup process, when I arrived at the step to select a wifi network, it would only show two at a time. Fortunately, it was a different two on each attempt so after the 10th try or so mine popped up and I got it to connect. Once it's set up it seems to work as promised, but the setup process was frustrating to say the least.

Glad I didn't have to pay for this. Only good thing is the home insurance discount. System kind of works. It took about 50 tries to get the bridge connected. The door sensors work, but they also go off randomly throughout the day, so I'd have zero confidence in them especially without a camera. I have a strong wifi signal and have resynced them multiple times. I've decided to just turn them into temperature sensors lol so I guess I got something.

My sensor on my front door is constantly alerting that it is being opened. It makes me want to disable notifications altogether, removing the entire point of the smart home monitoring. 4/29/21 Update: I seriously hate this app and product. I don't recommend this to anyone. Starting to wonder if the home owners insurance discount is even with it at this point. The sensors are just constantly going off for no reason. I can resync them which fixes the issue for a bit but then it happens again.

I really want to like this product, but out of the excellent packaging, the bridge won't connect. Now I have a useless product sitting on my shelves that came in fancy packaging that lent itself to a great opening experience. Attempted to contact customer support... right to voice mail. 2 stars because the presentation/packaging is good... but the quality of the product and availability of customer support are unacceptable.

The biggest issue that I had with the app on Android Pie was that notifications were not being delivered. After the notion support contacted me, it turned out that the setting of the app to detect location was set to off by default and I had chosen to receive notifications only when I was away from home. However, the app was unable to detect my location and didn't send notification. After manually enabling location detection in the app, notifications started getting delivered. Notion customer service is really great. Julian from the customer service team was very helpful in checking everything with me step by step until the issue was resolved.

Setup is really buggy, instructions don't really make sense. Temperature seems accurate, I haven't test the other detections like water and movement. Setup: when adding the bridge it got stuck on the "Adding bridge" step and then just went back to the page to add a bridge. When clicking the button add bridge at the bottom, the screen would just flash for half a sec and do nothing else. Resetting bridge and killing app didn't help. I killed it again then it worked. Sensors were a pain too.

It was useful until the app started showing false "door open" events. The app provided zero clues. The web suggested to recalibrate the sensors, but recalibrations were timing out. I ended up deleting the sensors and the bridge, but the app was failing to connect the bridge popping up a useless "unexpected error" message with a laughable suggestion to start from scratch. I submitted a support request a week ago, but didn't get a reply. I now very regret that I get inolved with the system.

I got this from my homeowners insurance company to get a ten% discount. sounded good to me right up until this useless system arrived. It took me about a month to get it to finally work. And that was after countless text and calls for help. All those fell on deaf ears. I followed the instructions (if you want to call them instructions). But time after time the bridge couldn't be found, or the bridge needed to be reset. And the same goes for the sensors. This is absolutely the worst system out!

I've used this system for 3 years. I've always found it to be unpolished and very flaky. Recently it even signed me out with no notice, which is absolutely unacceptable for a monitoring app. Also unacceptable is that it corrupted my system at the same time. I'm going to have to delete my entire system, reset everything, and set it up all over again. I was foolish enough to buy extra sensors, so that's an additional hassle. Thanks in advance for the generic reply, Your former customer
