HEAR WHAT NEIGHBORS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT NEXTDOOR

“Before Nextdoor, I didn’t know there were several qualified babysitters living nearby and looking for work. It was easy to feel comfortable hiring my neighbor’s daughter to watch my son after school.” - Patrick, Mission East

“This year for Spring Cleaning, we wanted to sell old appliances, tools, clothing and electronics on Nextdoor For Sale & Free. In no time, our neighbors stopped by to make a deal and take things off our hands. It was easier than anything else, and it feels good knowing our old stuff has found a new home in the neighborhood.” - Dan, Hayes Valley

This app has a lot of bugs that could certainly stand to be worked out! The autocorrect is highly inaccurate, it also doesn't auto capitalize at the beginning of a new sentence, it doesn't work off and on throughout every day. The moderators clearly need more training or more common sense, and to be consistent. The content is more drama than FB, which was a surprise, since I thought it was just going to be neighbors keeping each other informed about what was going on in the neighborhood.

Used to be great for reading posts. Now it's all local ads for anything you can imagine. Half of these ads are 4-5 weeks old and not from my neighborhood. I never changed anything in my feed preferences...these ads just started appearing. Now if I want to find a neighbor's post I have to scroll and scroll forever to just find one buried among all the ads. It's just nuts! Why did this happen? Seemed to happen after I updated. I have uninstalled this app for now. I may try it some other time.

Every fourth post is a sponsored ad and anyone can post ads about their businesses, filling the app with more ads than anything else. Some settings like if you have auto play on or off are ignored. Video ads continue to play even after you hit pause. The notification icon has a permanent red dot on it, making it look like you have unread messages when you really don't. At least for me, this app doesn't provide enough content to make me want to deal with it's issues, but YMMV.

Useful, but not well designed as an app. Hard to find content and ads show up in a feed multiple times in a row. The app seems to be getting worse per update, which lowered my rating. Updating a year later and my rating isn't higher. There are still easy bugs in the app and logic that could easily be applied too make the user experience better, but hasn't been done. An example (and Ai ought to be able to handle this) would be hiding/filtering out of date posts.

I've had the app for less than two weeks and have had nothing, but issues. I couldn't delete or edit comments so I notified customer service. They connected me to another app user to fix the issue. Then I asked for an actual employee (I got Jen) who passes me on to someone else (Kim). I'm pretty sure it's all AI. Somehow I had duplicate accounts and now I have no account. The app won't let me update my password on the current account, so I guess I'm just done with Nextdoor. 👎👎👎

Unusable. Ads take up the entire feed and I'm getting posts from miles and miles away, despite my settings. Apparently there is no more crime tab like there was in the past? That was all I used this for. Extremely confusing and congested feed and interface. Extremely buggy. Most actions I try to take do not work. I see zero reasons to use this app and will be deleting.

This isn't a social media app with occasional ads. It's an advertising app with occasional social media posts. Not exaggerating much when I say every 2-3 posts are advertisements. It's also is hard to type in because it will randomly skip/miss letters. When you try to correct a typo, it'll delete extra letters. You're better off writing in a notes app and copy/pasting into the app.

THE HOME TAB IS BLANK MOST OF THE TIME! If I click on a Notification showing on the Notification tab I get a blank/not found error & when I go back to Home tab, it's blank again. The only thing that works is the For Sale tab. It's as simple as that. PLEASE FIX!! I got your reply. I'm tired of wasting time on this app. We've been through this before & others have same issue. Nothing to show...just one time posts are there & next time I open app there's nothing. You figure it out!

Why are certain ads that appear below your post hiding the post icon so you can never complete the post? Pls don't tell me to reinstall Nextdoor. I already did that twice. This doesn't appear to happen in the browser, but only on the Android phone app. The next time I have to reinstall the app I prob will only get rid of it. Kind of useless.

Can't edit or delete comments after the last system update. Notifications are inconsistent. Many times someone responds directly to me and I don't get notified. Bookmark function is gone, hard to find previous posts. Recent sorting doesn't work properly. The only way to stop see a post is to hide it and then it's almost impossible to find again. Ads can be offensive without any ability to hide or change. Edit after response: read the review again. I've told you what to fix to make it better.

Great APP for KAREN'S This APP doesn't just violate free speech it wants to control the topics you can discuss❗ Adds should have the ability to comment on the business add space or rate as good or bad. Mostly I just found bad businesses. Individuals weren't much better. Seems to be a lot of selective work habits. I don't do windows kinds of attitude. Easy decision to remove. Sends a message to your email for everything unless you make it not send you email.

This app has some small annoyance every day, it seems. Like today, it underlines the last two letters of the word before an exclamation point or doesn't recognize some common emojis that it had no problem with before, and it bolds all the letters of a typed link EXCEPT one or two in the middle, making it look weird, like maybe it's not going to connect to the site, but it does. Just random, annoying things like that... and tomorrow, it will be something entirely different - but fine on desktop.

It's a nightmare to verify the address. Their "verify by location" just doesn't work and they never send a postcard with the code. Be ready to lose all access when you change your phone. The app itself is plagued with ads. Edit after response: it's impossible to log in to the link provided by the developers. I reinstalled the app and still it's impossible to verify my account (location permission granted). It's been weeks since I last tried getting a postcard and still nothing on my mailbox.

This app is incredibly buggy and frustrating to use. Typing into any of the text fields is extremely annoying as it seems to miss key strokes or skips words. No other app on my phone does this. Secondly there's no way to sort posts. Sometimes it'll show recent posts on my feed, other times it'll show stuff from days ago. Lastly, if you background the app, oftentimes it'll lose where you were. So if you were reading through a post with many comments, you're out of luck unless you bookmarked it.

Don't use it much. Basically only open it the rare time I see an animal (a cat, generally) and want to see if it belongs to anyone. Wish you could put in two addresses. Some of my family members and I go between two households pretty consistently, but we only get to tap into one of the neighborhoods, which is pretty annoying. I'm not sure why that isn't an available feature, but it should be. Several of my friends also go between households, and would have this problem if they used nextdoor.

Loves to email you clickbait, except they don't even send the entire post title/summary or location so you have to open the app to know if it is relevant or not. App is also pretty basic, and combines lots of different places around me that aren't really "neighbors" and puts their news in the main page. Lastly, lots of (mostly old) grumpy people.

Was decent in beginning, now no longer. Too much advertising where you just get lost on what is actually posted by neighbors vs just marketing. Posts seem to always be random timestamps by random neighborhoods. You can set preferences to sort by latest and hood, but it resets after a time. Rarely use it anymore due to the overload of ads. Facebook groups are much better for the individual hoods than this.

Update 5/31/24 I had to uninstall due to persistent annoying notifications multiple times a day for "updates you may have missed" and not being able to figure out the how to make them stop with so many notification categories and all but a couple of select ones turned off. Makes checking neighborhood news and updates easy, but shows too much from outside my immediate area clogging up my feed... Used to like it, but now it seems just annoying...

I like the app. but it's not fully accessible. there are times when I have to double click or triple click on certain text and items or links to get it to activate. also there are times when it'll just say button and I have no idea what it is and I don't want to click it not knowing if I'm going to like or dislike something that is unknown. also it tends to lag sometimes when changing location for instance I set up a new address and it's still reflects other old address even though I unfollow th

Constant stalls and lags and getting worse everyday. Not very user friendly. Too many ads that pop up and mess up the flow of the thread. A group button should be added in main button set. Why do I have to navigate through my profile to find groups? Chats a laggy too. The browser version is exactly the same. Save your phone space and don't bother with this app.
