Would have given it 5 stars. However, the mobile deposit function fails 99 out of 100 times to work. Trying to deposit a check today and the picture of the check could not have been clearer, and after 40 plus attempts of retaking a photo of the front of the check (always seems to be an issue at this junction as far as my experiences go) trying different backgrounds, lighting etc., I continue to receive the same error message that the "numbers at the bottom are to blurry".

I love the fingerprint log in feature. I don't like that the app will tell me that fingerprint log in has been disabled due to non use when I just used it less than 3 hours prior. If I try to type in my password after this message, it doesn't matter how many times I type it in, it will bounce between this information doesn't match what's on file or navy federal is experiencing problems. When the app works, I'd rate it 5 stars, but I can't be denied account access 4-5 days out of the week, hence 1 star. Update: It's been almost 2 years since my review, multiple updates, and this is STILL a problem. Fingerprint disabled due to non-use, 30 minutes after using it previously. I have had to reset my password multiple times because the app instantly locks me out due to "incorrect" password, even though the website recognized it 5 minutes prior. This happened on multiple phones and devices.

The check deposit process does not well. I took a photo of a check, many times, trying many adjustments to lighting, angle, and even used 2 different phones. Twelve attempts. Zero success. One time, the app asked for a new photo of the front of the check, so I took it again. Then, it asked for a new photo of the back of the check...all in the same, single attempt to deposit the check! This is app is very unreliable.

Been going on... 2 or so years now. It is intermittent, but it happens too often, I will open the app and it redirects me to my internet browser where it says the mobile app is unavailable. I know it's not the case because it a) happens many days throughout the week and there is no possible way it is "undergoing maintenance" that many times in 1 week, and b) then there are times where I get these issues, then a couple moments later, I am able to sign in, then back to failing again. Very annoying

I'm also affected by this latest update to the mobile app. It looks to affect those that have an earlier version of Android that is earlier than 7.0 (mine 6.0). I tried using the app on my wife's phone, which is Android 10, and it works just fine. Perhaps Navy Federal could at least put an announcement out regarding the compatibility with the various versions of Android so that us users are no longer frustrated and confused and have a plan of action regarding the problem.

Easiest way to know what I've got happening. Never having to question what has been paid and what hasn't. There are times it experiences a rush of clients attempting too log in at the same time, but life goes on. I've seen where some have the returning screen to log in. Simply uninstall the app, reinstall it and onward you'll go. Don't forget to restart your phone first. I'm hoping it's an added protection feature. But what the devil cab it hurt.

Never once had a single issue with the app, opened it this morning and was told to enjoy my newly updated app. Well this newly updated app, is not working at all. It fails to open most of the time and when it finally does open, it will freeze for about 5 seconds and then a message will pop up saying the "app has stopped working." I uninstalled and reinstalled the app plus restarted my phone, but the same issues with the app. Why update the app if it was working fine with no issues ??

I love the app, very convenient and easy to use. I do have a couple issues. First issue is the current version of the app on my cell phone is Oct 2022, the updated version is dated Jan 2023, I am not able to update the app on Google Play, the only options I have on the play store are Open or Uninstall. The second issue is with the 2 step verification, I have not been able to receive push notifications for 2 step verification or for account notifications.

I can't comment on most of the app, but the user experience for scanning a check seems designed to infuriate, resetting the value, account, and all other information each time their poor image recognition software rejects what looks to me like a perfect shot. Best "The numbers at the bottom of the check are blurry. Please retake the photo." message app on the market, I guess.

I really like the app and it works pretty well. The one thing you really need to work on though is the logoff button! It has a regular tendency to not work, forcing you to manually shut down the whole app. It seems the top portion of the menu freezes. Also tried hiding an account but the "Done" button also didn't work. This has been a regular annoyance with various versions and tech support/ programmers can't seem to correct it. Version 6.22.0 is no exception.

3/11/23 UPDATE I stopped using the app because it never worked. Decided to try again because it had been so long (a year?) and yeah! Same nonsense! Always having 'technical difficulties' I'm so over it! Love Navy Federal! The app is almost great! You are limited to something's and the message center often wont let you open messages or gives an error message. And although I have set up for notifications, I don't get notified of everything I have it set up for. Other than that, I love it!!

Favorite app, if it works. I have too re-download it at least 2 times a week because the app simply stops working. Wants you to use your shortcut passwords, then says no and use your full password. Then says no, there's an error with the app, try again later. Hardly ever see it working. No warning from the company when it's down, and no confirming when it's up -_-

Cashing checks on this app is an incredibly non-fuctioning feature. It's very frustrating when I take a crystal clear picture over and over and over only for it to be rejected. I just feel like humanity should have advanced enough for this not to be a problem but I continue to be amazed at the incompitence of most anything to do online.

When I opened the app I just get the blue background with the globe. I've tried uninstall/reinstall. There is another customer with a Pixel 4 in these reviews with the same issue. I have a Pixel 7. it looks like the app doesn't work with Pixel phones. I contacted customer service over a month ago and they said they would get back to me. Still waiting. Update: Tried a few times to work with support but no luck. A quick scan of the internet shows I'm not the only Pixel owner with the issue.

Over the past 8 years that I have used this app it has never been free of issues of large concern. Currently, if I want to sign in, I must uninstall the app completely and then reinstall it. Trying to sign in with it installed prompts the biometric sign-in, which prompts the username-password sign-in, which upon entering the correct information (yes, I verified it already) presents a generic "technical issues" error message. This is ridiculous. Fix. The. App.

I've been using the app for about 7 years. The bank is amazing, customer service is excellent, but the app holds a lot of problems. Some of those I've noticed is, trying to deposit your check. You are required to put "for deposit at NFCU only" when doing a mobile deposit which is fine, but having to take the photo two times because your system can't read and dents my check is crazy. I'm not sure how that can be fixed, but it's definitely a problem. I have more problems but ran out of text.

Aside from experiencing a few log-in issues in the past, the app was fine until a few months ago. Now, both my husband and I are experiencing delayed alerts. What's strange is whenever we do transactions, for example, balance transfers and purchases, we get the notification instantly. There appears to be a 1 day delay when it comes to deposits and balance alerts. I'm not sure what's happening, but please fix it, Navy Federal.

The app had been great for the last 4 years for me until this last update! Now, I've been having constant login issues, which is really frustrating 🙃. I've uninstalled/re-installed, and now it's just too much of a hassle 😑. I'm deleting the app, and I'll only use NavyFed from a computer. I have another bank app that works well for what I need. Adapt and Overcome!

Until recently, I loved this app. Then, a week ago, it started malfunctioning. It appears to force close every time I try to open it. I've uninstalled it several times. I've called customer support, and they were unable to help. I used this literally every day until the issue started...... Update... Customer support was able to fix the issue this morning. I have to say that everyone I've spoken with has been fantastic and the epitome of professional. 5 stars.

This app is passable, but I wouldn't rate it highly. It's not that there's one giant glaring issue anywhere, it's that there's a thousand little ones that don't ever get attended to even if you report them. Personally I wish the app wasn't so web dependent on its ability to operate at a basic level, like when you have bad service. I also wish I could customize that it just asked for my fingerprint right away instead of having to tap a fingerprint button. Many more. It's kinda embarrassingly bad.
