I guess this will be an unpopular opinion, since there are so many rave reviews, but I miss the older style of games. 5BN games are hands down the best, and this one had many good aspects. However, the games not having instructions was frustrating, and the fact that you couldn't pick up so many items you knew you would need later seems to be a newer thing. I find that far more irritating than being able to pick it up and keep the item til needed. I just don't enjoy the new style as much.

Loved it. Five - BN games are always good. This one was really good. Loved the format that the game was arranged in. The puzzles were kinda different and new. I hope this series continues. It has possibilities with the detective pursuing more cases. Really nice job. Voice work was fitting for the characters. Great scenery and art.

Very excited about this one! You're leaders in this type of game and I especially love the new york mysteries series. So having another detective type story is super exciting! I'm just about finished the last chapter on this and I couldn't be happier. Graphics, story, gameplay, its all perfect. Love it. Thank-you!

Always love these games from Five BN. The story line is a good change of pace from the rest of the stories that have been created. My only displeasure on this game was when you get to a puzzle it just says solve the puzzle. Some of them where easy to figure out but a quick description of the puzzle or what to do would have been nice.

As someone who has installed (and completed) most of BN mobile games, I am a devout fan, so it is a little conficted when I say that this particular game was less than a satisfactory experience to play. Graphics is still a strong element as it has been in every Five-BN offering I have enjoyed. The puzzles in this adventure were very confusing due to lack of directions to proceed. Past offerings gave you clear directions on how to succeed, while these give you simply "solve puzzle". Sorry.

I love these games, I've played every game by this developer. The only issue I have with this one is that the puzzles have no instructions, and they aren't all straightforward. I'm only 20% in and am stuck on a puzzle. I'll probably skip the puzzle I'm on and keep going. Otherwise, so far, it's a fun and interesting story.

Great and challenging game that only has ads if you choose to have them. For the dummies like me who enjoy a challenge and isn't a genius, this one is perfect. It has a great story that makes you want to keep playing and watch ads if needed. Unfortunately I'm not that smart so I had to watch some ads lol

Omg! I'm obsessed. 😍😍😍😍 Update: I just finished the game & I absolutely loved every minute of it. All 3 cases were exciting, mysterious, and fun to play. The puzzles are self explanatory & the right amount of challenging. I truly hope this becomes a series!! I see Detective John Woodbray solving lots of other interesting and mysterious cases in the future!! 🙏🏻

Why no clues as to what my objective is in the mini games? I understand they're supposed to be another challenge, but c'mon, something besides "solve puzzle". And agree with other review, close off box if all clues have been found. Your games are always the better ones out there and I never hesitate to download them.

Not up to Five-BN standards. Everything is way harder to accomplish than it needs to be. Things are hidden so you have to click on every stone and pile of leaves. Text is off. Puzzles have text at the bottom that says, "solve puzzle" (oh really?? Is that what I'm supposed to do??) New areas appear and open without obvious reasons. The maze stays open after you solve it so you have to walk through it over and over or use the map to get to the next scene. Frustrating and irritating.

Really interesting game! It's part escape-the-room, part search, part puzzle, and has a great story. The art work is totally stunning, and the setting is very compelling. Really fun mystery. Worth paying for even though it's free. One of the best mobile games I've ever played. Highly recommend!

If I could rate this 6 stars I would. It was awesome! There were three cases that we could solve. It took me a good while to solve them. The puzzles were just challenging enough that it kept you engaged without making you overly frustrated. The storyline was amazing and the characters were pretty realistic. There were no ads unless you wanted hints for puzzles. It was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I really liked how they separated this into 3 different stories with the main character solving mysteries. Very typical Five bn game as far as graphics, point and click, and puzzles. A couple of the puzzles were especially tricky but all solvable. No instructions on any of the puzzles? That was the biggest thing this game was missing. What really frustrated me was the *very* obscure items to find or areas to click on. Some are so imperceptible on a phone. Still overall a very good game.

I wish I could say I enjoyed this as much as your other games, but the lack of an info butyon for the mini games was a big detriment, and I didn't like how several "completed" mini-areas still popped up as though you could more there, when in fact there was nothing more needed/available in said areas. Very few vanished when done, but I prefer they all did that, like in other games. It didn't really add an extra sense of "mystery" to the cases.

Another GREAT game by FiveBN! Some puzzles are really easy and others will give you a good challenge. It helps if you've played their other series of games, otherwise, you'll likely be frustrated trying to figure them out with just the vague "solve the puzzle". Free game with 5 free hints and you can get extra hints by watching ads, which is more than fair IMO. scenes are less detailed than other BN games, but BN games graphics are amazing. Fun storylines and good amount of play time. Worth it!

Let me begin by saying I LOVE BN games. I only gave 4 ⭐️ becuz I like the older style of past games, i.e. Lost lands, etc. All the buttons were in the same spot in each one, such as map, back button, etc. This game, I kept trying to push map, and I would get a hint. Plz leave buttons alone. Instructions on puzzles would be nice. I want 2 B able to p/u items as I go, & when a small box appeared, after I completed a task, box acted like I had more to do. PLZ GO BACK TO OLD STYLE. PLZ MAKE MORE

I've played several five-bn games, and this one has been the best of them!! I loved the stories. I really hope they make more in this series! Just a note for Android players: If you get stuck, it's (most likely) not a bug. Apparently, the android version of this game has some different rules than the PC version. Some actions that are available on the PC version will NOT be available on the android version UNTIL you complete certain actions.

I've really enjoyed Five-BN games in the past. I don't like the fact that the mini-games have zero instructions. The tab only says "solve puzzle." All the other games I've played would give a small "?" with instructions on what to do. Some of them I was able to figure out. I got so frustrated with it that I quit playing. I feel like they want me to buy the collector's edition just to get instructions. Not your best effort, Five-BN. Do better.

Absolutely loved this game, the graphics were great, the 3 story lines awesome... oh yeah, you get 3 complete games in one download. .. if I could give this game 10 stars I gladly would. No ads unless you want to skip a puzzle then it cost 50, and you get 5 per ad. Yeah I know you think that's pretty lame but the ads go pretty quickly so it's worth it. Just don't skip a puzzle and it's ad free 😉 Thanks for a great game. Haven't seen one in a long time!

FiveBN is definitely a front-runner for this genre. However, that being said, after playing ALL of the previous series Mystery Detective is an anomaly in that saved progress is not kept properly somehow. You have to solve each chapter consecutively to unlock the next, which I have done... Even after using the save and exit buttons, when my app loads, my chapters are saved wrong. Chapter 1 - 51%, Chapter 2 - 97%... but I got 100% on both. Something is wrong here. I don't want to keep re-solving!
