The app is flakey. Forgets your preferences frequently. The biggest issue is if you have 2 or more garages or homes on your list there is no easy way to distinguish the two other than the name. It would be great to be able to change the background or color scheme for each opener. I always mix them up and open the wrong door. Please make this a feature

Terrible experience. App will not log me in when connected to wi-fi. Will not connect to the smart garage kit after multiple tries and resets. Update - even worse now as they have eliminated access to use the devices with home automation. Now it only works as a "smart" device if you pay subscription fees with apps they have decided to work with. The MyQ app still works as an opener but the app is slow to load and they don't provide any kind of widget to make it easier to use.

Almost useless app. There is no integration with any of the home control systems (Google, Apple, Amazon). You can't even control the light built into the garage opener through the app. The app home screen is full of internal ads to upsell the video storage and notifications. All I want is an app that gives me complete control of my garage door opener and integrates with my current home automation system.

This app is absolute garbage. It synced my left door fine. Right door? Won't connect. Then it acts like it connected and tells me there's an error. I click thru and it tells me there are no errors and everything is good to go. And because of this now all my remotes are disabled and I can't open and close the door at all. Even if I remove the device, it still acts like this. I can't open my door other than manually now.

MyQ app features are ok, and very basic. The notification time will lag almost 30 seconds. Once I receive notifications, clicking on the camera app, takes about 5 seconds to operate. That's enough time for the intruders to get past the MyQ garage camera. Those 5 seconds, I think are critical if wanted to get a picture using the camera. Probably solved "IF" you want to pay the $30 yearly data storage fee. Camera low-qualitylity images. I would not recommend this.

If you use satellite Internet you won't be and to get real-time notifications of the door opening or closing until 5-90 minutes after the activity, if at all. The camera will not connect. The ability to open and close the door will be delayed 5-90 minutes, if the app can ever connect to the Internet. Rural home owners should just buy a non smart version of these doors. The app is very limited, back arrow function in my phone usually does nothing.

UPD: The latest version is working on my phone again! Good. WAS: This application has serious compatibility issues. Latest versions just freeze and show white screen forever on my phone. Until resently, I used an older version of the app (by beginning of 2022), but now it looks like the developers have changed the protocol, and the old version doesn't work too anymore. It's absolutely useless for me now. I have a LiftMaster garage door opener, and I cannot open it remotely. This is unacceptable.

Notifications are almost always delayed around 5 minutes to 30 minutes, so they end up being pretty useless. The app/garage door opener also doesn't have any Alexa capability (specifically to open/close the garage door), which I wish I knew prior to purchasing the opener. I guess you can take out your phone and close/open it with the app, but it's MUCH more convenient to tell Alexa to do it (especially if you have your hands full from carrying things inside).

Update: Still no dark mode but there are ads on the homepage now. Usually it works ok, with some occasional connectivity issues. But, without dark mode, it blinds you if you want to use it at night. Also, it definitely tells the police when you're using your phone. Also, the home page will say there's something new to read but the appropriate section is never marked, so you can't figure out what the app wants you to see. It will blind you!

Absolutely awful. It took forever to set up and intermittently won't work (I've had it for a few years now). I have had problems off and on the entire time ive had it. I lost power 2 days ago, and the MyQ never came back. I have another hour in trying to get it set back up, but it won't connect again. Waste of money.

The door is much more convenient and attractive then the 70 year old door it replaced. It operations smoothly and not too much noise. The old Springs and hinges of the old door were a major worry and much of the reason we replaced it. Looks great works well. Only issue is no where to install pin locks for when we're on trips, would just give us a better feel of security while we are gone.

Here as of the last week I haven't been able to even get my app to start up,it just has ring spinning with no connection of any kind. I forced to get out of car and use keypad to open my door now, which is the total inconvenience. And finding replacement remotes(preferred key chain remote)is impossible. Why sell a product you plan to not keep operational or easier to maintain? Go buy a ryobi,im sincerely thinking about it.

Wish I never "upgraded". The system doesn't like mesh networks (support blames it on your router "blocking the device"). When your router updates all your devices go back online like normal. Not MyQ. Either I have to refresh the device multiple times a day or every other day. I can't wait to find a new service to replace this garbage.

Much more stable than it was back in 2017. Yes, I've had it a long time. It connects to Amazon Alexa and to Ring Door Bell apps. I recommend it. It connects to LM wireless camera which magnetically attaches to my LM belt driven garage door opener. 053024 Update: Can't clear notification (¹) on profile image on home page upper left corner. Reported issue a week ago. I am awaiting contact from escalation team. All user troubleshooting steps have been performed. Customer service is very poor.

You cannot control your garage door with Google assistant or anything like it because apparently abandoning standardly used apps is a great idea for a company. Also it took me hours to get my garage door connected and I had to try over two dozen times and ended up googling the problems in order to figure out why the app would see it sometimes and not other times and would refuse to connect or even detect a Wi-Fi network. Edit: IFTTT only works to close the door, so it is useless as well

I liked this app fine until it started sending me advertisements! If my garage door opens while I'm at work, I want to know about it! *I cannot afford to ignore your notifications,* but that does not mean you get to take advantage. I'm very close to uninstalling the app, removing the hardware, and *throwing it in the trash* if this happens again. I'll find another solution. That simply does not work for me.

The app was fine and worked well for opening and closing my garage door. Now, it gives me an error message and says that it can't connect EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Yes, I use a VPN, but that never mattered before, so it shouldn't matter. Also, I found out that you can't be signed in on more than 1 device, or it constantly prompts you to sign out. What happened with this app??? Please fix it ASAP!

I like the app, but several of the features do not work as described. My notifications are supposed to be immediate, and they rarely are. The scheduling for notifications does not work at all. I have mine set to silent alert between 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. It never works properly. There's a sensitivity setting for activating closing the garage door which also does not work as described.

Dont fix the app just add more ads. Bravo! Dropping it down to one star because it prompts me for a password at the worst time. Then it won't just log in. It has to fail and make me enter my credentials again. Then it asks me to rate it. Well here is your rating. About every ten times I get a screen that reads "There was an error to the server. Please check your connection and try again". Amazingly though, when the garage door opens and closes I still get alerts, so I'm still connected.

Pros: It's easy to setup and use. Cons: The ads on the front page where you control your devices totally ruin the experience. I'm not against ads, but the adding ads and making the experience is a no no. Other apps do a good job of blending ads and the UI. Preferably, I would enjoy an ad free experience since I already purchased the devices I need. If I need more product I know I can access the 'Discover' button in the app.
