It is a good app for managing your weight gain (in my case) or loss. One thing that is missing is the ability to ballpark calorie burn for weight lifting. I realize that you can't accurately calculate all exercises, but the big 5 should be listed. Squats, deads, shoulder press, bench and pulling (back work). There are now free apps that have a better interface, are easier to use and are more comprehensive. This will be the last year that I subscribe.

I've been using the app for a long time, and it's good. Looking things up is pretty easy even after they put the scanner behind a paywall. The weekly views are nice for making sure you hit goals consistently. The reason I don't rate the app higher is because it's buggy. Sometimes, it adds items twice or puts in the wrong servings. Sometimes, it skips ingredients when adding entries from "My Meals" as well. These bugs make it hard to stay accurate with tracking, which is the point of the app.

I used to live this ap. However, the accuracy has gone down hill. When the nutritional information doesn't match up (not even close) it's not very useful. Also, adds are annoyingly places front and center rather than at the top of bottom. The screens are too full and finding or reading information gets difficult. I could purchase and go add free but with the accuracy issue it doesn't make sense to do so. Also, it is too expensive for me.

So far, I like this app. Has had almost every food I have searched and tracks the basics fairly well. UI is OK and easy to pick up the available functions. The few issues I have are minor. For example, I would like to see them add all of the micronutrients and some of the nutritional data is a bit bonkers (1 teaspoon of bacon grease has 3800 calories, for example) and the excercise portion is clunky. Overall it does the basics well and the ads aren't too obnoxious.

The below review was 5 years ago and the same glitches still exist today. PLUS...NOW THEY ARE DOING AWAY WITH OUR NEWSFEED... the main reason I still use MFP. If newsfeed goes away, I will go away with it!! Constant glitches - for example, likes and comments won't work, diary will not save/complete, won't detect an internet connection, posts appear twice, just to name a few. One of the worst functioning apps I've ever used.

New update. It is horrible how many times i have to correct many food labels and add alot. Its almost like i work here. Please give us incentive for this. IN The beginning it used to work amazingly well. Have to say the exercising syncing options have been atrocious and I have been consuming more calories than needed causing me to either stay flat or lose/gain little weight. After going back days and weeks I noticed how bad the syncs were. I combine with other apps. So please fix.

This used to be the best on the market, but they have moved some of the best free features, such as the barcode scanner, behind a paywall, started introducing pop-up ads, etc. On top of all this, the amount they want for their premium service is way too high in my opinion per the amount/quality of features listed. Now I can't even sign into the app for over 24 hours since they failed to notify me that I needed an update to sign in through Google yet still pushed my requests through.

Used to be a great app, now you have to pay for barcode scanner (used to be free). Too hard to add foods manually - tried adding and it wouldn't accept the "number of servings per container" no matter how I tried to add, so basically can't add any food myself. UI isn't as friendly as it used to be. Bummed it's no where near as good as used to be. (I've used it on and off for years).

There are some cool features, but for the expense, I would hope for a cleaner user experience. There are so many verified ingredients that have wrong nutritional information listed it can be a challenge to sift through in order to build a correct calorie count. I like the easy and simplicity of the app and the quick add and barcode scanner make it easier.

I used this app many years ago and now after getting a Garmin I'm using it again - it's come a long way! Much more intuitive... I do wish that there were alarms that you could set for the beginning and end of a fast, and I wish that you could start a fast and back-time it and then just keep it running, and instead of having to submit that you've ended your fast, it would be nice if you could just record your first food and it would automatically end the fast...

This app is great overall, though I would love for you to add a search option within our personal workout routines, such as the one in the cardiovascular section. I have a long list of routines based on various muscle groups & session types. It is extremely tedious scrolling through all of them to find a routine I haven't recently performed. AIso an option to make subcategories/folders within that list would be excellent. Thank you!

I've used MFP off and on for 6 years now and have had great success tracking. However, I'm bummed to see the barcode scanner is now a premium feature (previously free). This allowed me to track quicker and more accurately, without manually adding or relying on the (not always accurate) database. Would love to see this become a free feature again!

Been using this for a week. It is very comprehensive and I was happy to see international foods in the database. I wish there was a function to filter/ search by restaurant. The information is there though. The recipe builder is a little frustrating when it comes to serving size. If you build a recipe that serves four people, when you track it you have to enter .25 for one serving. I like being able to see goals by macro nutrients. Really great app overall.

Love the app and watching my caloric intake however, the food list tends to show with different calories for the same food so it's hard to be accurate on the calorie count. I've lost 9 pounds so far in the month or so that I've been using the app. It's great to be aware of the major difference with fast food calories versus home cooked or home prepared meals!! It's definitely change our eating habits. Thank you MyFitnessPal!!

UPDATE Edit 3. Now using Samsung Health, and a Renpho scale, both syncing well. Occasionally I have to manually refresh the MyFitnessPal app for it to accurately import steps and workout data. The app itself, is Super easy to use, with very comprehensive food lists. I still question some of their calorie values, and exercise values as they seem inaccurate. Other than that, excellent!

Update #2: Nearly a year since reporting these syncing issues with steps and exercise in May 2021, nothing has been done about it. I'm still dealing with it as of 5/15/22. Update: App/website aren't working at all. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and resetting my password. Can't access anything. Love the aesthetics update, but my exercise is no longer syncing properly since updating. My steps show 0. I did not change anything and this was working just fine up until today..

Good basic meal tracker, but many free features have been taken away (since 2020) and are now only available in the "premium" paid version. E.g. adding specific foods to your library and sharing with other users. You can now only add the item and picture, but no data like calories, serving sizes, etc. Although this is a great app with awesome features and connectivity options (fitness tracker), I'm a teacher in Hawaii and need to budget my finances. Will be looking for another app.

This used to be a great app, but now it shows double my macro goals even though the settings are correct. They made scanning items not free anymore which was a part of the free account, so now you have to pay premium pricing for a feature that was free for well over 7 years. Too much glitching and I've had premium before, but I'm not paying that to scan an item. Ridiculous.

Every once in a while, I come back, sign up for Premium, just to see if the issues and bugs have been fixed. I did this again recently. I knew immediately that I couldn't stick it out but gave it a good week of solid logging. I really want it to work because it works so well with Garmin devices. But it still too buggy and horribly slow. This app needs a big revamp. Someone needs to just start fresh. Go look at how LoseIt does it and start from there.

I've been using this for maybe 3-4 years now. I've lost 65 pounds and maintained. But I just wish they didn't make the original features "paid". For instance the ability to scan a label and add the item. That's now only paid and have to search and hope you find the item or similar and sometimes the manual entries are definitely suspect and seem inaccurate. So that's unfortunate. Otherwise pretty good all around.
