I'm eating 3 stars because I am able to navigate technology very easily but for some reason it is really hard to set your d-link to respond to your scene settings. Their should be just a button for privacy mode and to let the camera know your at home. Instead you have to turn on privacy mode and manually go in an adjust the zone for the camera to look at its dumb and I know how to navigate tech apps easily. That tells you this app either has glitches or I'm just stupid which is a possibility.

These quickly became obsolete. At this price point you would think you could set how long you want a recording to last. this is so bad you get a video of the person walking away and about 5 seconds of cars going by... Just another way to get people to subscribe.. Well, i ended up getting nest cameras, and use the nest aware. the cameras were better quality, and cheaper... not to mention the subscription is cheaper as well and the app gives you soo many more options. This app and camera lacks options, continously looses connection, and is not user friendly. Go with Nest!

Constant dissatisfaction. App is terrible. Now they have scenes that are useless. I dont know why you have to go back to the main screen to view recordings. One Dcs 8600 does not even switch from day to night automatically. Now it is not even recording in sd card or cloud 4 months after purchase. I want these cameras to work because their picture, motion detection and field of view is better than arlo, eufy and wyze. But unfortunately, they keep getting it wrong on the software front.

The d'link app is totally unsatisfactory. It rarely works as it should. even though it's sending me notifications that I want to turn off, it tells me that it's unable to connect to the device. There is no user's manual that really provides any good information. Even the websites provide no information. If you have a frequently asked question you may get some sort of satisfactory answer, but I doubt it.

The latest update forces you to create an account. I don't care for the lack of web interface, but you could get to some settings from the app. At least the camera has ONVIF, however the image is terrible compared to the app, weird. I'm sure the D-Link camera/app/cloud combination is great for those with enough internet, money, and a disinterest in technology; but it does not work well for me.

Was good until update. Can't keep my cameras at the resulosion I want. Keeps switching it back to lowest. It also is turning my spotlight on when I do not have it set to in automation. I no longer have access to random days of my cloud recordings. Error messages about the server when I log in. Had a decent app before now junk. Will be looking at different options if this is not resolved soon.

I originally purchased this camera to do continuous recording. You can record with it, but the recordings cut off after 3 minutes. Since I was not able to use it for what I purchased it for, I set it up in my building as a security camera. I can usually watch a live view when I'm signed into the same wifi as the camera. But when I'm signed into any other wifi or use mobile data, it's nearly impossible to view live. It just doesn't load. When it actually does load, the view is bad and cuts out.

Works, but still disappointing. It seems like thia app haa better integration of camera features than the previous DLink camera and NVR apps that barely work at all. I was finally able to upgrade camera firmware, although that was a mixed bag in itself. Buy still lacking is any real support for the NVR I'm recordibg to locally. Maybe thats because they're pushing for cloud storage, which looks reasonably priced. The app has a weird fancy interface with unnecessary animation and redundancy.

I don't like the length that the event's stay active, not long enough. The sensitivity is not that great. I have missed many events. The scheduler is not what I had expected. I was expecting a camera to record nonstop but this camera only records events. I wish I had done more research before I purchased these 2 cameras. After the update this app has been worse than it already was. The events don't load for viewing without trying twice. I wish I could get my money back for these camera's😡

Very new to DLink. So far camera & system rates 5 star!!! On the other hand, trying to set up One Tap.... not so much. :( My sister suggested a glass of wine or two and then retrying the setup as she had the same problems Still working on it, but customer service may get a call soon! Over all, great system & reasonable price! Would purchase again!

This app is not intuitive at all. It takes several "clicks"/gestures to get to the point where I can change the schedule on my smart outlet. I should be able get there in 2 or 3 gestures and start modifying my schedule. Instead I have to spelunk for 2 to 3 minutes to find what I need. Once I'm there it's confusing again figuring out the sliders on the calendar. The device itself works great once I finally get the schedule set.

As a longtime user of the Mydlink app I can unequivocally say your "new updated" app sucks balls. If I'm not getting a server error or it's just refusing to let me sign in then it's about a 5% chance that I can actually get into event and video and it's not blank, empty, nothing there, not even past dates, in other words, my cameras are worthless! Thanks Dlink!

Basic camera! The only good thing about this camera is the picture quality. The app lets you do the bare minimal. You can view live feed but it doesn't send any motion detected notifications. I've tried multiple SD cards and none of them work (even after formatting). This app is very confusing in navigation. And it actually disconnects periodically from wifi. And you can only view the feed for about a minute before the app times out and cuts the feed. I'd suggest a different app.

Buggy and slow. Cameras fail connection. Not enough configuration for local camera network and rtsp streams. Authentication info doesn't allow updates locally. Not all cameras have a local web control option. Turning off audio in app doesn't stop camera from transmitting audio to streams. Many bugs. Too many to list. Switching to another brand that uses local control for settings as opposed to cloud/app. Also... Some of the indoor cameras have terrible connections through WiFi.

While I only had one camera was working fine, but since I added a second camera started to give connection problems. Sometimes one camera sometimes the other one. Recently I started to receive messages that I need to subscribe to a plan. I didn't understand why I was receiving those messages because I already was in the $4.99 a month plan. So today my camera stopped recording saying that I need to subscribe to a plan. I can't contact them to do a claim. Poor customer service.

The whole system only barely works. I wish the notifications could be made louder and more persistent on my phone, and I wish that they could also trigger an email notification. Also, the nodes will go offline randomly, and the app won't notify you about that. There's no way to temporarily silence a node.

Every single time I open the app I get the notification that it works better when Data Saver is turned off...EVERY SINGLE TIME. My data saver is OFF and always has been for every phone I've had where it's been an option. Fix the app or I'm getting rid of these cameras. In fact, they're getting old and I'm preparing to buy new...if the app isn't fixed I'll be buying a different brand.

Light changes seem to cause errors. The sound is good. The video is good. I use an SD card with lots of storage, which is plenty. Except now with my new Samsung S24+, I can not retrieve my stored videos. I dud rate it higher before the new phone. Now, no help files or a person to chat with about this problem. I'm not paying for cloud service.

02/24/2025 update. I'm done. I only get ALL of the alerts once I get home and reconnect to wifi. What's the point if the alerts WILL NOT be sent to my phone and I can't even view a live pic. THIS PRODUCT HAS ALWAYS SUCKED. -- Guess I'll be manually forcing a reset to "add a new device" and inputting all the settings again. Though after 30 or so "new device" experiences, I'm surprised this camera hasn't ended up in the garbage. D(umb)Link. Never again. The app was bad. Now it's worse. Thanks....
