This app is an audio PLAYER, not a DOWNLOADER. If you search for an app to download new music, this app is NOT suitable for you. This player just handles audio files which are already on your device.
Don't worry about 'adware' warnings of some antivirus scanners. Of course the player is not a virus. This is just because the player shows advertisements. The full version is not affected by that.

I'm only interested in the music end of this app. I haven't investigated other possible uses. As far as the music uses, I love the easy access to the various music genre folders I was very easily able to upload. I have used other so called easy use music players but this is in fact, the best and easiest. And do I dare say, the most fun to use? You cant go wrong with this 5 STAR music play app.

Was looking for a secondary music player, but I stopped using it, because compared with the original* it lacks the option "make next" which plays any song after the current one finishes. However that is not a big deal, which really make it won the 3 star review is the full screen ads, which are also not present in the original*. *In my mind the original is com.folderplayer released on 1/1/2011

This app is perfect! Yeah it might not be the prettiest one on the Google play store but it is the most functional. I can play music or podcasts or whatever folder i want without all the mp3s being grouped together. This app has lots of functions and options you can change. I also asked them a question and they replied immediately. 5 stars I plan on buying it as soon as I get payed

I had tried five other music players before finding this one. (I actually had to search for "android music player that respects folder heirarchy" to find it. Yes, I'm a geek.) I prefer to listen to my music in album order, not by artist, title or length, or other oddball criteria, so finding this player was a godsend. Reasonably intuitive and I don't find the ads nearly as obnoxious as some reviewers do.

I could have sworn you had a screen showing the current audio track being played with the top half being the album art enlarged and player controls at the bottom. Am I wrong? I am not opposed to buying the pay version if it is there, but I do not see it in your play store screen samples. Thank you for such a quick response. Your instructions worked perfectly!

Outstanding app! Has never failed in 5 years. I can listen to MP3s via Bluetooth headset for 12 to 14 hours at the beach with phone on battery save and airplane mode On with screen asleep. It's limited only by the battery in my phone. , I'm afraid to update because it can't get any better. And we know what can happen with updates sometimes. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Easily configurable, ads are minimal and can be closed immediately. No waiting for a timer to tick off 5 seconds

Love This App! Finally, a music player that displays my music the way I want. I have over 90 GBs of music on my phone, separated into different folders. Some by album, style, genre, and favorites. Now I can easily find and play what I want to hear. One small needed feature would be the ability to designate and save the Shuffle setting for each individual folder. When listening to entire albums, you don't really want the songs to shuffle, but playlists or favorites you usually do.

I love that I can play one folder at a time with all the songs in it while not playing what is in my other folders. It has many options and configurations so you can make this app do exactly what you want it to do. Definitely worth the donation to make adds go away. I've used it for years and love it. Good job developer. It's quite stable but with one exception. It can pause your music automatically when a phone call comes in. It can also be configured to automatically resume playing when the phone call hangs up. If you have that feature turned on, the problem is that it will automatically start playing when a phone call hangs up even if you were not listening to it before the phone call arrived. It is not smart enough to realize you weren't listening to it before the phone call so you wouldn't want it to automatically have itit tu on just because you got a phone call. That's the only bug I've found but it has been there for years. Come on. Fix it. Make it smarter. I love that you can long press on a song to delete it when you find a song you no longer want to hear again. Great app.

I use this app to play Old Time Radio dramas. I would like to see an option to insert (a variable) dead time between tracks, as sometimes tracks run together when there is no dead time at the beginning or end of the tracks. Running tracks together may be acceptable or desirable for music tracks, but for drama tracks it can be confusing.

Praise!!! And well deserved, people should stop the seemingly endless searching for a way to listen to one of the greatest gifts of life (and their not many) which is Music! This app makes it all happen including store it where and how you wish.. that is getting harder to find in music and music is so important for the soul. I've honestly tried at times 10 at a time and like my music, It ROCKS !!!

I have many tracks from a bunch of sources (youtube, limewire, cds etc.), and many of the id3 tags are not correct. I have meticulously set up my music folders, and this program allows me not to have to deal with the mess of id3 tag editing that put me off of programs like itunes in the first place. The ads are not intrusive either! The full version is significantly cheaper than poweramp, and this free app can be used indefinitely, unlike poweramp's trial.

Music Folder Player is the best even though it now has ads w/ music. I have tried other free players they can't play CD 1 & CD 2 in a row. Also lining up artist/albums correctly. Although they do have more features, this is a big problem for me when playing my music. I wish the developer would take a look at some of these features in other folder players. paying for the Pro Version, seems like in this day & age, everyone wants free software & expects it. It wasnt always like that. MFP ROCKS.

I like it. . Although, whenever I long press a folder that contains my music, I get a pop up box that has several options. The option I'm interested in is the one that says, "Shuffle sub-folders" but is located right below the option to "Remove from list"! Now IF I accidentally tap to remove this folder, I'm thinking there just might be another pop up that says, "Are you sure?", but I don't want to chance it. Wouldn't it make more sense to place, "Remove from list" at the bottom?

I have an extensive CD library. I was looking for a simple app that would let me upload my discs to my music folder. This app is exactly what I wanted. Most music apps push the purchased downloads. Music folder player free does not do that. Ads have been minimal. I highly recommend this app. Update: 8-31-20. After nearly 4 years of use this is still my go to music player. Easy to use and a perfect player for my CD library.

I've tried numerous folder players and this is by far the best! The pop-up ads when you're leaving a folder are annoying, but they gotta make $. The full version is VERY fairly priced, so i bought it & reccomend you do the same. If you turn on shuffle, it will hold your place no matter how many different folders you have a shuffle going in. I hope it doesn't repeat songs before they're all played, but i haven't had it long enough to confirm that. Buy this with confidence!

I love this player 💖🥳! It offer to change slow down or speed up the audio, change pitch. Organize. Really everything you can thing of pretty much! Now I will say I had a hard time when I didn't see the options to fast forward or rewind but later I updated and found there were options. I just had to go into setting for them to appear and I could program them to fast or rewind to percentage or time. With 4 buttons to choose from. Every flounder can have its own playback bookmark.

Simple layout, easy to use, good features without all the visual chaos of some of the other music players. Not fancy, just works. Exactly what I wanted. Have had this app a few years and it's never let me down. Only plays downloaded music on device. Great for when you're out of internet service area or just want to hear your own playlists. Minimal ads and FREE!

I bought the app a few years ago and it's still my favorite player, I use it daily.... it does exactly what I want it to do, choose the artist folder, then choose the album folder, then it shows the file names in order; 01-title, 02-title.... I click on 01 and I hear the whole album... simple... Ah, in the live albums (for example) there is no silence between the songs... And long live to Progressive rock....

I had this app on my previous phone and it was great. Used it to play music in my car via Bluetooth connection and it would stop when I turned the car off and resume from the same spot when I got in the car again. Now with the updated version that does not happen about 50% of the time. And I only realize this after I start driving, so I have to open the app to resume music but first have to dig through the library to find it, but only after I closed the ad that pops up. Was awesome. Not anymore.

This player plays all the songs in my phone without having to make a playlist. I tried about 6 players before I found this one. Deleted all others. Issues are: can't find a way to "exclude" a folder inside of a folder set. Song display and actual song playing dont match sometimes. the display will show that it's playing 1 song, but it's really playing a different one. still some bugs in the programming, but overall a really good player with good options
