Very inaccurate results and could be dangerous. The app is beautiful with hand drawings but that doesn't redeem the app. The sound alerts are horrible and I couldn't find a way to switch them off. Not worth paying for the extensions as the library is so very limited. Use Google lens instead

Thoroughly enjoyable app & excellent value. I recommend paying the small amount for the additional photos feature - (and because it's only fair when the creators have spent so much time and effort to create it). This is a good and useful introduction to a fascinating subject.

ID the shaggy parasol with a photo on the first try. I cross checked in two books and online to confirm. That saved me a lot of time pointing me in the right direction for a firm id. Lots of great features including comparison mushrooms. Looking forward to trying to identify more. Just paid the small donation fee. Thanks for a great app.

Good app, but I have to say it's missing some really important features and the descriptions are very short it's as if the app is under alfa development level. Some things that could make this app a immensely better was a little map on the description, showing where you can find those fungi in the wild, where they grow etc... The filter option is very limited too, it could have filter options for fungi families, places the fungi grow and things like that. But even with that it's a good app.

Great app. Love all the features. Pretty darn accurate if you now how to identify individual parts of the fungus. Only issue I have is that the app crashes whenever I try to use all four filters at once when using the identification key. Decent design, could use a little refining, but overall very nice. Excited for future updates!

I like this application. I keep trying it every time I find a mushroom. The success rate of recognition is not perfect but it improves over time. The last version has some bug in language setting. My phone system lang is EN but I want to see Czech names of mushrooms. It worked in previous versions. It doesn't work now. edit: 5 stars - language setting works correctly

Mycology venacular leaves much to be desired. Some identification characteristics are simply wrong. Many i.d characteristics absent or very minimal. Species are limited. Camera option should not be trusted and it is a looooong way from any technology being able to correctly function in the manner this is intended. Possibly functions better on new phones? The specimens i tested were incorrectly identified (7/10). I would use this along side a fungi i.d key or some form of i.d visual glossary.

This is brilliant. Have used on a number of occasions now. Although not 100% correct all the time, its does brilliantly even in poor conditions while in the woods. Lots of info on returns so easy to check if it's got it correct and the pictures to check against are brilliant and really help. I bought the extra add-ons and would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Decent app with simple and useful descriptions of each fungus. Would be genuinely useful on a walk. You have to pay to see all the pictures, but a lot of the free pictures helpfully include both a young and a more mature specimen which is important for identification. I think they should add Amanita crocea (orange grisette) as it looks similar to both the death cap and Caesar's mushroom, and so could cause confusion to those not aware of it.

It kinda works in somewhat limited way but crashes every time a species which has been recognized is to be stored in the 'journal'. Needs further development and an increased database of possible species. Another major flaw is that even after termination the app stays resident and continues to draw power from the battery. Unfortunately, the email contact does not respond.

Good start to a great concept, but needs improvement: it doesn't offer the option to use a picture from photo gallery. Identication Key section lacks Spore print color which is very important in some cases, yet the key has a redundant field: "fruiting body type" and "hymenophore type" serve same purpose. Only a couple hundred species, rather limited, but app is of a good design, well thought out and shows lots of promise if they remedy those things (upload photos, spore color, more species).

Beautiful app with limited information and the mushroom recognition works very well. Some mushrooms are not listed and therefore identification doesn't always lead to a positive result. My other complaint is the super annoying warning that pops up every time you open the app and also every single time you tap on the recognition link. This makes you see the full screen pop up window twice, every time you use the app. It drives me insane! I have to use another more complete app on the side.

Bug report: on my Moto G Power, whenever I open the local map, it says no location found. The settings say that there were no recent location requests, implying that the app thinks it isn't able to accesd my location (location turned on, permission granted). In case it matters, the first time I accessed the feature, my location was accidentally off. Is there a way of entering a manual location? GPS coordinates or something?

Good informative app. There are room for improvement, for example I didn't understand what their mushrooms type icons mean, and couldn't find any description. The usability testing would help to do the necessary improvement. But anyway, I like the photo mushroom recognition feature and all useful information about every type of mushroom

Amazing app! I love the fact that you can look at recipes and that there is a Journal. The purchased aren't required, but I bought them anyways to support the developers. Yes, the predictions can be wrong at times, but it does give you a warning to not 100% trust their predictions. The only complaint I have is that there could be more mushroom species, but it's fine. Also, you can download one of the features without paying and it still works, you might want to fix this.

i wish the recognition wasn't so hard to snag the photo and also would like to be able to mark on map where i found the species and able to see others picks. now i know nobody gives their picking spot, but that option for those who dont mind, would be nice. plus are all north American species in this app? thank you for making something that ensures that I know what I've got, beyond a reasonable doubt.

So far so good, I was able to positively identify all the mushrooms I found. You take a photo in the app. and it shows you a number of choices to pick from. There were many color matches, but no look-a-likes other than the one it is. You look at color, shape of cap, under the cap and the stem. No look-a-likes so far, but when in doubt leave it alone.

I don't like the design overall. The art is beautiful but the app cover has a large key covering the art and it just looks terrible. It also only gives the scientific names of the mushrooms when your scrolling, which could be confusing for beginners in mushrooms. If you're looking for a good mushroom app i would recommend shroomify, it's easier to navigate.

Incredibly versatile and useful. They absolutely need to expand their catalogue, though. Minor note, I can't click the URL link on some descriptions because they are at the bottom of the info cards, which overlap the navigation buttons on my phone. Maybe add a small dead zone banner as a footer to compensate for this in some phones.

Very Well Done! This app is very well put-together. I wish all identification apps were setup like this one. You begin with relating the basic shape, size, and gill/other information and the app narrows down your search. Tap on the basket at the bottom, and it gives additional options for narrowing your search (stem and cap characteristics, etc.)
