I've been using this app since i got my Motorola, a few years ago, and it has NEVER not had issues. it won't open; it opens but just to a black screen; when it works, it does the shutter click, but doesn't take the picture; EXTREMELY frustrating if you're trying to quickly get a shot of something, or if you don't double check that you got what you think you got. I clear the cache, restart the phone, disable/re-enable, and it still crashes ALL THE TIME, or just refuses to open. worst.

Guys, come on, the latest update adds a really unbalanced brightness to the finished pictures. They look fine until taken, after that the lighting is way off. This happens regardless of having HDR auto/on/off. Trying to take pictures is just broken now. Moto G6, it's really awful now. At least the last update didn't do this. And it's not hardware, this did not start until most recent update (October). I'm having to roll back and uninstall updates.

If I'm shooting video with the rear facing camera, it constantly does this weird refocus in and out thing. It ruins the footage because it shows up in the recording. Also there are absolutely no settings for video, literally none except the video quality. I use the g7 power. I just wish I could control at least the same settings that it has for photos, which isn't great either

Updated the app again and very useful batcode scanner feature was silently removed :( Two stars. Update: The app has gotten much better with improved manual mode, live histogram (amazing! who even does that!), and faster focus aquisition. Review: Camera does not focus in video mode. Fine in photo, but goes out of focus the instance you switch to video. I would like to go back to the exposure compensation that was around the focusing marker. Was so quick and easy.

My experience is that no matter how many times this app "tries" to update itself, it stays stuck in updating mode for hours and never finishes. This has been going in for weeks now. Although I am fully connected to wifi, it displays message: waiting for wifi for large download. So, i have no idea what this app is trying to do. I haven't been able to use it.

Everyone complaining about the app, clearly doesn't understand that every phone amd its settings are different. Yo you aren't going to get the same results every time. Also this app would get more stars if it doesnt crash 24/7 yes, it may be my phone. But it recently started doing this coincidentally at the same time when i started putting tape over the cameras for ensured privacy. I literally cannot use this app. But my phone camera works through just about any other app.

For a while, when activating the camera by moto twist on x4 and holding it landscape right away, a bug keeps the ui on portrait. I have to rotate back and forth to sort it, or the pic gets saved portrait. After a recent factory reset using the factory version of the camera app, I found there's no bug. And all other features are there and work. I recommend downgrading by "disabling" the camera app in settings. This deletes updates and settings (pics are safe), then re-enabling

Pictures taken are awefil, has no focus. Sometimes, even though I click no picture is taken or, it takes a long time to capture and process the picture. Most of the time, the pictures are not focused. The camera on my phone was known for taking beautiful, clear pictures but not anymore since the upgrade!!! Pls fix what ever is causing this issue.

Every since it updated months ago there is times when I take a picture and the app freezes. I can't do anything but turn the screen on my phone off then back on and then it will close the app and gives me an error message. Love the pictures it takes but don't understand why it freezes. It does it on the front and back camera. I have a few month old baby and need to be able to take pictures quickly without it being choppy or freeze!! Very upset with the app.

Still very unhappy with the automatic blurring affects that take place regardless of turning off beauty filter. I've emailed multiple times with screenshots through the viewfinder vs the final image and screen capture videos of it happening in real time. No matter what troubleshooting and settings adjustments it will blur the face whether you want that or not. When you reach out for help they tell you to take the phone in for repairs even though it's not a physical issue it's the software.

This camera SUCKS. Worse than ANY of my previous phones except the very first cell phone, an old flip phone! Photos look sharp in viewfinder and are OUT OF FOCUS when you actually look at the results. White balance is HORRIBLE, colors aren't true to life and look MUDDY, even burst photos are slow shutter, tired of blurry photos! No way to manually adjust focus or white balance, only a few crappy choices in so-called 'manual' mode.

Photos/video were great and then all of a sudden after updates I noticed the quality became worse. Namely I have to "physically" turn off battery saver and unplug my phone from charging to do it. But my biggest beef/reason is the fact that "NONE" of my devices, bluetooth handsfree headsets or a plug in USB-3 external microphone work while recording audio! It has default settings you can't change as it reverts to use the "phone's microphone" instead of anything else plugged or connected to it.

White balance and color response is just not good. Whether I choose automatic white balance or try to set it manually, I can never get photos to match what I see in real life. Shades of orange and turquoise are represented very poorly. Turquoise always becomes deep cobalt blue, and orange becomes a sickly brownish gold. In the manual color temperature / white balance slider, the "cloudy" setting makes the entire picture bright yellow. Something is wrong!!

Captures QR and barcodes automatically. Stop it! I didn't ask for that and it just randomly started one day. Also pops up with suggestions. How about this: just make it work when I tell it to work, and don't force change with your updates. I mean, it's great that there's hdr. And it works how I want it to: I turn it on. The big problem here is my camera trying to be smart and just doing a worse job as a result. I'm trying to focus on numbers, and this thing is capturing image after image of qr and bar codes with no button push. Why is it after the update your camera is suddenly worse at focusing on alpha numerics -which I need to capture daily for business purposes. It's also been really bad at post processing. Like dramatic failure. Takes image, shows thumbnail(picture at bottom) looks great. Click on it, and it processes the before during and after flash and comes up less focused and full of glare. Here's the catch- wasn't like this when I bought the phone. Y'all did this to my camera with your update. If I can't fix all of this, I'll be buying from Apple next year, and I don't want to. I want to find a manufacturer and stick with it. So far Samsung, htc, and now Moto have proven to cause inconsistent behavior in their devices well after purchase. We spend a lot of money on these things. I don't think it's unfair to expect consistency, and maybe finish and test software/firmware before it's published? Maybe issue updates with a script that records settings and then reapplies them to the updated phone? Or how about making updates optional so you're not interfering with a business device?

Zoom past 6x on the Edge+ high res just creates grainy blown out images. No option for manual mode with high res. Standard camera setting has a serious lack of color. All images go to the low saturation gray side. Auto detection for food or sunset or other scenes could be great but it's automated and turns itself off if you move the camera even slightly and may or may not come back. No way to manually select scenes. The autofocus is so bad especially on videos and concerts with moving lights.

Still photos with subjects in relatively close proximity (under a foot) are hard to get in focus without tricking the camera by shaking or moving it. It will then (usually) recognize it needs to focus. Ironically, the same picture taken from withing the eBay app is very easy to get in focus. This is using the camera on auto and no flash but plenty of light.

Keeps cutting off when I'm using it!!! It's been cutting off while focusing, cutting off when I'm about to press the button to take the picture, cutting off when I use any video messaging, cutting off when I'm reviewing a video I made, cutting off immediately after I start it!!!!! Tried various things... No, they don't work!!!!! And this is not the first time!!! Worst camera app ever!!!! I am getting so annoyed!!!! Edit: 12/16... Still acting up after attempting resolutions and contacting developers. Can't even use it anymore! This needs to be fixed.

After my Z3 Play upgrade to Pie, portrait mode is unusable. I experience a 5-7 second delay from the time I press the shutter button and when the image is actually taken. By that point, the shot is gone, and the results are blurry ugly images. This worked perfectly until my upgrade to Pie. I understand that my phone camera should never be as good as my DSLR camera, but before the upgrade, it definitely worked in a pinch. Now it is totally useless. As a prolific blogger/instagram photographer, I can no longer advocate this camera/software for others.

Immediately, I had to uninstall this latest version of this app because most camera images are blurry, especially within books. Moreover, despite adjusting the settings, this app is slow to scan barcodes. I have to hold it extremely steady, for seconds, to scan most barcodes. Although, I was not expecting the camera or app to be like the Samsung or Apple, camera is noticeably worst than previous versions.

Oh, good, I unblock updates, and we're back again to hanging in the background, burning battery, and saying "camera is running", not saving photos that were taken. Fantastic. Excellent quality control as usual. Moto Z2 Force. Stop breaking things and calling it a "bug fix"! Version 7.2.31.13 is the last stable version, go grab it, uninstall camera updates, reinstall from APK, and disable automatic updates, and it works great!
