I LOVED Duskwood. I recommend that game to everyone. The mini games weren't annoying. The micro transaction weren't obnoxious and the story was engaging.... But it's like they took everything that made Duskwood great and ruined it. So far the story line in episode 1 seems contrived at best, the micro transactions are aggressive and the mini games are more abundant and less well balanced. Much. less. well. balanced... I'm not sure I'll be playing for much longer.

I really loved duskwood and was super excited to play Moonvale. But I really dislike how much we have to rely on the gems for things like photos. The media pack for duskwood was so worth it. And I get that they want to profit from the game, but maybe if they made a media pack and made it a little more expensive, then it's worth it. The mini games are annoying, we're if you are struggling, you have to pay in gems to skip rather than just doing a different level.

I'm very disappointed! I loved playing Duskwood and #1 one complaint by users was that the mini games were too hard. Instead of fixing that, it feels like the developers got extremely greedy. I was fine spending a bit of money here or there but the amount of money it would cost to get through these impossible to beat games, no thanks. On top of that, you have to pay for story lines etc.I think they're losing much more money in the long run by doing this. I wont continue playing unless changed.

I really hope they redo the art for the mini games. It's so ugly lol. And I hate how it gives you a hint every 5 seconds of inactivity. I wish there was a way to turn that off. Otherwise, my complaints are the same as everyone else's: so much is locked behind a pay wall. It feels scummy. I adored Duskwood's one and done multimedia package. Bring that back please.

My only complaint rn is the diamond system. It is way too expensive. You could keep it for the extra stuff, like the chests and the minigames. But I'd suggest going back to the Multimedia Pack like in Duskwood. A one time fee to get the entire story. I'd pay 20-30 dollars for that. Loving the story so far! Looking forward to seeing where it goes but not being able to get the most out of the story really hinders my enjoyment right now.

I agree with a lot of the other reviews. It's disappointing. I liked that with duskwood, I could just pay one time to unlock the premium pass, this one uses 19 gems each time, and they are ridiculously expensive packs. Seems they have lost touch with the target audience and what made their game so good last time. I would be willing to pay $10-$20 for premium but this one will be one transaction after another to see all the pictures and will end up running in the hundreds. It's not worth it.

While I can say I like the idea of allowing those who can't afford to pay for media the option to get it, I like the media. It adds to the story. I don't like replaying episodes because it messes where I want to be in the game. I hope you bring back the premium pack. I'm currently replaying it because it's only episode 1. There are a few achievements I should have gotten but didn't. I hope the story fills out better and you bring back character profiles.

As a devout Duskwood fan, I was so excited to wait for this. I recognize the production value has gone up and so the ability to make money has to - everyone has to eat. But the blatant individual purchasing of all the "special" selections - a thing you unlocked with 1 purchase in Duskwood which I was glad to do to support - pulls all the immersion out of the game. As well as the huge monetization scheme along with paid profile options. I am disappointed and may revisit later. For now, leave it.

Unfortunately, after three full days of trying to pass this one level in the side game, even throwing in a couple bucks to extend my hearts, I had to give up. It's certainly an interesting strategy to make the side games so hard in the beginning before the player is even invested in the story or the characters. But I guess it makes it easy to put it aside. Good luck friends.

I love the concept...but some aspects definitely need tweaking. The options that require diamonds are expensive, and when you get rewarded in diamonds it's not enough to cover everything. I like the idea of not having to pay, but making players replay simply to unlock everything ruins the fun for me. Adjust the rewards, have options to earn more. And maybe add a premium option for those who DO want to pay. Do something so it's more enjoyable. Also the match game? Some levels are stupid hard.

Great story, and a not-so-great interface. The AI is ugly, and it's art theft, so. But the new characters and story are amazing, and the ending phone call for the side story was incredible. Well done on that. But please, rethink using AI and maybe change up the payment system. Also, the mini-games are pretty hard the first play-through, it was very difficult for a lot of people to get past them especially since there are now sections that require one to pass 4 of them.

Enjoying it so far.... but saying that, Like other people I preferred the 1 time payment to unlock all special content. That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars...the mini games are just as hard as duskwood's, but I expected that..... The storyline is great but not being able to pay for each extra part to the story, is a downer..... & I'm also waiting for an update for the next part in the story.

Just started Moonverse after finishing my second play through Duskwood. So far... confused. I do not want to see this game turn into one of those pick your own journey book apps where I have to constantly spend money in the game in order to have all options open to me... buying the Duskwood pack should give some incentive like a vip status. I understand the game is still in development, but pay walls will stall this game and lose loyal customers who want to see more from these characters.

It falls short compared to its predecessor. It's a huge money grab. The puzzles require less skill and more luck to win requiring you to spend money or wait. I was looking forward to this game and so far I am greatly disappointed. Update: Deleted and redownloaded. All gem purchases are gone. Deleting and never playing this cash grab again. Greed ruined a decent game. Was even going to replay Duskwood to get the special unlock...not now... not starting over.

I waited 2 years & I'm very disappointed. They should've kept the option to unlock all the starred content with a one time fee. The mini games are more difficult than they should be & there's the mini game that u need to get 60-70 snow blocks in to pass, how can u pass it when it doesn't even give that many? It's pretty ridiculous to clear half the spots and it gives u zero, 1 or 2 snow blocks in place. Also, when I spend diamonds for an avatar, I should get an avatar.

Great game but was very short time-playing because this only goes thru part one. Also, the puzzles you need to solve before getting back to the actual game are difficult and there's no explanation for them. By the time you figure it out you're out of moves. So you have to wait till you get more points to play again to get back to the game or you need to buy more which are very expensive. I hope to play again soon but with better explanations of how the puzzles work.

I finished duskwood a few weeks ago, and truely got sucked in to the realism of the interface, characters, and storyline. I feel Moonvale targets a different audience. The responses are gimmicky, the characters are cartoony, even the mini-games and tasks are kiddy type design. I am not impressed, after the amazing realistic gameplay/story play in Duskwood. For me, thus far, this is just a mediocre and easy to lose interest in

I was so excited for this game because I'm a fan since Duskwood but now I'm really disappointed. I understand that now you can replay the episode multiple times to get the answers that you want, but to be honest this just breaks the flow and the immersive sensation of the story. I loved the thrill of Duskwood, and the fact that your choices were irreversible and had consequences. I was willing to pay as I did before on Duskwood, but the way that is set up for Moonvale is ridiculously expensive.

While I understand that you are trying to improve on Duskwood, this first episode is just not good. Thank you for the match game that is a bit easier than the other game but I prefer playing to 100% so I can play through my game. The worst part are the diamonds. Are You Serious? The best parts of the game cost? Why? I was forced to purchase just to watch videos or see pictures! I rather go back and play Duskwood for the 5th time than pay money for diamonds in order to really the game. Terrible!

I just realized this was out and was super excited to play BUT...the fact you can't "buy" the game to get all the special content like videos and pics is a huge downer, the gems are pricy, and the mini games aren't as fun and there's so much chance to just getting matches makes it far less enjoyable. I've been playing other games to get gems, but it's feeling like a waste and I'm spending more time on those games than this one just to move forward with the immersion. Duskwood, so far, is better
