This game is actually pretty fun too play, decent story, awesome Monsters and just an A+ game. The reason I don't rate it 5 stars is because alot of times if you play for a longer period of time, or even sometimes just randomly the app will close itself and you risk losing all your progress up too your previous save point. If you are used too auto saving games then you forget too save as often, though even when you do save it is a bit frustrating to have too save every 10 minutes..

So I enjoy the game very much, I mean I have put more than ten hours into the game. t The reason I'm only giving 3 stars though is that the app makes my phone crash, like every hour or so, which is frustrating due to the fact it doesn't have save option in menu. I mean there are save points but a save option would help me keep eggs i really want. The auto save helps but not by much since you have to enter a main area. Another frustrating part is after the crash it turns offy wifi on my phone.

I love it. Really an awesome game. Anyone complaing about graphics doesnt seem to realize this is a nintendo 3ds port. Only problem is capcom not revamping the save feature for mobile. They left it as the original which means you have to save in certain areas (e.g. town). Thats great, for the ds. Not if your playing on a phone and it decides to act as such and requires your attention elsewhere which results in lost progress. So one star reduction. I wish they would "fix" this.

PLEASE add controller support, it's something this game really needs as it was originally designed to work on something with physical controls. I appreciate the effort put into making good on-screen controls but it's impossible to replace physical ones and it would let us spend more time looking at the amazing game you created rather than having our hands cover it up.

Huge MH fan, been playing them for 10 years. Like this new style of game, definitely a fresh look and feel. Only issue is this is a port of a 3ds game, with many aspects of this thought out and translated well. But one issue. Saving should be in the menu for a phone game. On a 3ds you can suspend a game by closing the lid. On a phone if you close the app the game also is suspended, but if the app closes in the background then you lose all your progress. I would love to see a menu save option and then up to 5*

The game is overall good, but has stagnated to a dead halt for quite some time. Unlike in the Japan version, no additional content has been added, even with more than a few years to add anything to the game. And with Network Battles removed, there's no further incentive to improve your team other than taking on the Tower of Illusions. Unlike past main installments with occasional updates or new downloadable content, this just hits a dead end. The journey was fun, but once it finished, well...

This is a great full game and worth $20! I love supporting games like these that do not have in-app purchases. The touch controls are well done but I would rather use a controller. Graphics are amazing and vibrant on the Galaxy S9+. I have touch issues in battle choosing "item", but it may have to do with stretching the screen out to 18:9. Thank you for taking the time to release a game worth the price for my phone!

Loving the game, was upset I couldn't afford a 3ds for this title and buying it on Android was so much cheaper than buying the hardware AND software. One question though, does the game allow Bluetooth controllers? I can't find any info on it and haven't had time to attempt to find out myself. My only gripe is the same I have with most mobile games, I don't like touch screen movement controls because having your fingers on the screen takes away from the immersion and blocks the beautiful graphics.

This is one of if not the best game I've played on Android. There's a big, unique world to explore with a rich story. The turn-based combat seems simple at first, but gets more nuanced as you advance in abilities and monsters. spent almost 70 hours on the game, and I didn't do all the subquests or the endgame content. I didn't have the saving glitches some experienced. I found some missions didn't trigger properly so I'd have to cancel it and start anew. Other than that it was bug free.

I love this game. I wasn't expecting much when I downloaded the free demo, but I then I didn't even think twice about buying the full game, it was just so good! The only issues I have are that it's impossible to play against other random players online; anytime it connect with someone, my game resets. This is disappointing, since apparently online battles are a requirement for some monsties. Also, the freezing is quite bothersome. Every so often my game will just outright freeze for no particular reason. I have a OnePlus 5T, imo it's very good and I've never had an issue with any other game. Monster Hunter Stories runs smoothly on my phone, just the only issue is the random freezing, especially when you haven't saved or reached an auto save point. I just had my game freeze in the middle of a battle with Kushala Daora, and I was doing well with the type machtups too. Also, please update the game to match with the DLC content that was available in the Japanese 3DS version.

As a casual Monster Hunter fan, I find MH Stories to be an interesting spin on the main games. There are many familiar elements but they are well attuned to the turn-based battle system. Really liking the character-driven narrative here (unlike in the main games). Would've been an easy 5/5 if not for the constant audio glitches. Whenever there's a lot of sound going on at the same time, such as in town or during combat, they just wouldn't play properly. And the problem only gets worse over time.

The game is great. I almost bought it on my 3DS ages ago, but overall I'm not a fan of the system. This port was a great price and gave me the ability to play on my phone without having to bring a second device. The reason for 2 stars off is that I bought this to play on some long plane rides, but it turned out the game gives me a license error if I don't connect to the internet. I'm not playing the multiplayer, just trying to keep myself occupied during some traveling.

This is a very fun game, and absolutely not made redundant by the sequel on switch. I could go on about everything good about the game itself for a very long time. But as a port....it's not great. After a few days of playing, the audio now skips every time a new sound (like walking) would play. I've tried every fix I can, both inside and outside of the game. No audio device or in game audio setting will fix it. It's so maddening I have to play without audio.

I have experienced a audio bug, sometimes a random sound bit, entire music track, or voice line will sound very low quality, other sounds played at the same time as an affected sound, like music, unless also affected, are clear. I seemed to experience it more often after a cutscene or after extended play. Specifically noticed during/after the Bltd Diablos fight and cutscenes. Reloading the game seems to fix it temporarily.

This is a good game on the 3DS. I have a powerful phone that can run way more graphically intensive games than this but I've experienced a lot of very annoying audio issues, ( constant stuttering and skipping) and it makes the game unplayable without muting the sound. The frame rate doesn't dip but alot of the charm of the game is the music and SFX which I have to miss out on. Changing the graphics settings doesn't solve the issue.

This game is fun and addicting as well as cute and colorful. It's not like other Monster Hunter games, but more like a monster collection battle RPG (with simple rock, paper, scissors style combat) that is Monster Hunter themed! It's great for me and how I play it (only using it and no other apps/mobile features at the same time on a plugged in device), but I could see it being an issue for some people as it kills battery and tends to crash if you multitask apps while playing it. Note: It cannot currently be played offline AND remember to save frequently! It does autosave but it may not autosave as frequently as you want, to save rest at your house and select save or use a catavan stand/cat to save. Also Note: This version of the game doesn't have all the additional content that the Japanese version has.

Fun but Clunky Inventory/Quests. the monsters and fighting is a blast but the game needs a more efficient menu to navigate inventory, quests and monsters. There should be filters (preferably that save for next time), when sorting it should have the better scores at the top where you are currently looking rather than the bottom and Quests should be filterable by location, reward, objective and the like. Increased to 5 stars as I hope to find another game like it.

Pros: beautiful graphics, quirky and entertaining story/dialogue, cool Monsties, and enjoyable strategy elements Cons: extremely grindy and drains your battery Overall, I love it because I don't mind grindy games, so it ranks pretty high up there in my top 10 games list. However, I can see where it might not be as fun for others, so take that with a grain of salt!

I have to say I'm a long time MH fan and this has been one of the best mobile experiences I have had lately. I am having a blast and don't want to put it down. Honestly, the only problem I am having is there an audio problem with the dialogue and music skipping or taking longer than the scene. Especially in battles. Not sure what needs to be done to fix it, however it's annoying and I just turn the sound off at this point. if fixed this will be pretty much perfect.

No reliable autosave on mobile is a huge fail. You can only manually save in town or other select points. The screenshots on the store page advertised autosave, but I lost progress several times from it not autosaving despite transitioning areas. This is a deal breaker on a platform where you're not fully dedicated to setting aside enough time to reach a manual save point 95% of the time.
