The game can be fun at times but there are limits on the free to play side and the high grind also can be off-putting at times. Currently I face the issue where the game crashes anytime I try to enter. It also can breaks sometimes when the free pelico paintballs window pops up and I can't close it. Until these are resolved I can't give it any higher.

Well the game got better when they released the actual game. (They never said there was a prestory before that). The recent update ruined the game. Lags way to much and misses inputs, the monsters don't allow you to hit them as they are hitting you and you take forever to stand up or they are running to the opposite side of the map. There is no in-between. I wonder when we will be able to get potions to keep playing without spending an arm and a leg. Its more Pay to play now, Not even pay to win

I pre-registered when this game was eligible for that, and it was fine when it released. Now it has so many problems including but not limited to: Attacks flat-out missing; certain monsters appear only through hunt-a-thons, bad drop rates for rare stuff, not being able to give parameters for your palico to paintball...and then some. Plus after a certain point there's really no incentive to keep ranking up. If they want players to drop this game after season 1, it's working so far. Keep it up!

Fun to play, enjoy the take on mobile monster hunter. The timer makes it feel very tight, like you need to prioritize damage over all else, spoiling the feeling of hunting a monster. It comes off rather multiplayer focused, as solo you waste so much time dodging or blocking attacks from aggressive monsters rather than hunting them. Also, the current potion system is incredibly frustrating and limiting.

As a Monster Hunter fan, I had low expectations for a mobile game. Surprisingly though, it's very well put together. Despite being a one finger game, it feels like Monster Hunter. Now be warned, the grind can get ridiculous, and the balancing for certain monsters is questionable. A big issue they need to address is the lag. It's always had it, but in recent updates it has gotten way worse. It's slowly making the game unplayable. Hits not connecting and losing up to 10 seconds sucks.

I want to enjoy this game, but the horrible lag that doesn't slow down the timer, along with random attacks of mine now missing, even when I'm using the Sword and Shield and am on the monster during my special. Cost me multiple hunts and I'm just fed up with it. Please, fix this game. I enjoy it and want to keep playing. Edit: every update, your game gets worse. Fix it!

Update from a previous review. The game will still kick me randomly, but at least I can get on. Some of the quests are damn near impossible, though. I have killed probably 15 to 20 Rathalos since the quests began, and still have yet to be able to break a wing. Can't lock on them at all, have to lock on a leg. Also get connection drop errors at the worst possible times, even though according to my signal, I'm still connected. I do enjoy the game, but have lost out on a lot because of net drops.

I want this to work so badly. It's quite fun. I like the character customization and the gear aspects. My only issue is the frame rate is terrible with the graphics. It keeps getting jittery and the combat doesn't seem friendly for solo players. I live somewhere where I can't imagine anyone playing this (small town) so it would be nice to play solo and be fine to enjoy the game. Otherwise, if those little but big things could be fixed then I see potential in this game.

Pro, nice story.,lots of fun and good to play with friends. Good replacement for Pokemon Go. Cons, upgrade parts have a very low drop rate. Hunts have a tendency to drop for 'network issues' and then you lose all health items, and you do not get to return to your group. So this kills the hunt for everyone in it. This is a major issue in this game.

Good review restricted due to high traveling speed. Not enough things to kill and all weapons should be open right from the get go like the real games. So many little issues hampering the one good thing this brings to the table. I hope the other monster hunter mobile game does the series justice. I came back after not playing for a while to see if has gotten better, it hasn't. It now freezes constantly and the controls feel even worse now. Wish I could give 0

Trying to make first weapon and the tutorial is stuck. I've logged out 4x, and logged back in and it still gets stuck. It's great that there's tutorials, but not good that they freeze up the game so you can't go any further..... Edit: I'm still stuck on the weapon crafting tutorial screen. There's no weapon there to click on and the whole screen locked up to where I can't click on anything else, but to hard close the app....

The combat is more fun and involved than Pokémon Go, but there're a lot of caveats. Progress slows to a trickle early on, combat suffers from lag and freezing, even on new devices, and the game tells you almost nothing about its mechanics, leaving it up to you to comb fan wikis. The cost of upgrading gear at higher levels almost punishes experimenting, and since gameplay hardly changes as the game progresses, the repetition becomes a grind. Fun for a while, but painful to stick with.

Actually,it's 4.5 stars. There are a few things that need improvement. First is the glitches. Some battles never start while the clock counts down. While others have a weird death bug where you kill them and they come back to life for a split second and die again. Most of the time,it's just annoying, but I've had matches where I killed the moster, and it failed me anyhow. Other than that , I'd love to see other tool mechanics be integrated and monsters from other series implemented into the game.

Battle clock needs to be extend at least 50%, lag takes more time then anything. The prices of the items like paintballs, and potions are California prices for sure, double what they should cost. Multi-player is a struggle because we HAVE to paintball. We hardly have the option to walk around all together. I love the game, it's the best AR game on the market right now, but everything seems to be pushing me away. Me and my wife live and play together but somehow we can't get any tier 4 materials.

I like the game itself a lot, but I don't think I will be playing until the connection issues are fixed, not only does it seem to happen no matter how much signal I have, when it does happen the planet is the one who feels all the penalties, health loss stays, used potions don't come back, tallying again brings the monster back at full health, while it's frozen and telling u to find a better location, the timer is still ticking down making the fight even more difficult than it should be

As a monster hunter fan, this game is an embarrassment to the franchise. The gameplay progression is completely dependent on gear level because hunts are timed, so there is almost no impact from actual skill in this game, and the material grind is absolutely atrocious to encourage you to spend money on the game. As a location based game, you're also limited in the amount of content you can do in a certain area and the respawn times feel really long. Only a fundamental redesign can save the game.

Weapons could be better in my opinion. Greatsword feels too slow compared to how fast enemies attack/combo and bow deals too little to be usable (often run out of time even on past tiers using a bow). So either more time is required on hunts or weapons need balancing Aside from that, wish could get items while being a passenger, even had it tell me I was going to fast when I was out walking. Note: am playing solo all the time due to not many friends willing to play, which does hinder me

The fact that if you do not play perfectly, you are gated by how much money you spend on potions is enough of a reason to stay away. Also if you don't use ranged weapons, you will time out often because you'll spend more time chasing the monsters than actually hitting them. The core gameplay is very fun, but if your phone skips or hiccups, that can mean a down or chunk of your health. Not good for solo players, less powerful phones, or those with lots of disposable income. Still too many issues

This is a fun game but it crashes WAY too much. One instance is when I was engaged with a marked monster. The game crashed mid-fight, & after rebooting the game, I discovered that the crash ate one of my three attempts. Furthermore, the crashing is very frequent as of late. In addition, the grind for late game materials is a painful slog. Currently, I can't recommend this game as it crashes too often. When fixed, I will fix my review. For now, one star.

For the MOST part, I recommend the game. As a fan of the series, this is a pretty solid experience. There are several issues, though. Most of the fights are fun and engaging, but there is an inherent level of RNG that ruines several encounters. This is much more noticeable on higher difficulties. If a monster just randomly happens to use consecutive dashes and you can't land hits, or you don't proc any stuns. Sometimes feels like the game is trying to force you to use real money for potions.
