Absolutely love this app. Very helpful to study Japanese and prepare for the JLPT exam. My friends recommended me this app, and I will do the same to my other friends. It has a lot of practices for each sections of the exam, and it's easy to use. For Migii Team, thank you very much for answering my question (through WhatsApp) regarding premium subscription. I really appreciate that.

So far so good. Will consider subscribing. I wish there was an option where a voice over option for sentences.

Edit : the issue is still unressolved for me. I used to be able to hold and drag the sentence and it used to show the translation in the screen and I could also be able to copy the sentence but now only shows the meaning when I press the word but I can't be able to copy the sentence. I am frustrated with this bug I am a premium user and have paid for the app the UI is broken the popup window wont close when I press somewhere else. Please fix this issue revert the UI as it was or refund my cash.

Absurdly slow response, cannot swipe thru at desired speed. Also plays sounds from many pages prior. Only hira,kata-kana learning cards are free, then 48 of 50 minna no nihongo dictionary-like cards require paid. Played sound in background even after closing app.

Updated review 10/28: After getting invested with the subscription, I decided to use the Mina no Nihongo section. It's a mess. It feels like half the words are missing the pronunciation, words sometimes repeat example sentences instead of providing multiple ones, and the flashcards... Unit 7 has some of the worst flashcards ever. You better have an external source, because sometimes, there's just nothing on the back, and NO AUDIO for it either. Had to knock my rating to 3 stars, and may do 2..

The new update is not working for me at all. Information retrieval almost all the number based information has been blacked out in dark mode. Whenever I am clicking on words for meanings, the copy and detail text options are completely white . The text is not visible at all in both of these. The UI doesn't look great. Certain answers in certain sections are framed incorrectly which makes the option very confusing. Kindly make the changes as soon as possible.

Nah, this app is really buggy and full of mistakes, the UI is horribly clunky and just not smooth to navigate, and the whole thing just nags you at every turn to buy a premium subscription. Forget it.

Has some good materials but it's very limited, feels like you're missing a lot which is obviously trying to make you buy the premium. You can only do 2 of the 4 main options but it shows you all of them all the time.

Poor English throughout the app. The creator is NOT a native English speaker, and not Japanese either.. so there are too many mistakes on both sides. And no matter what complaints people have, the responses are always unrelated. For example, someone complains about bold font on the kanji making it hard to read, and he says "please recommend this app to all your friends". What? Did he even read the review? I bet he won't even read this one either, he'll just copy/paste some unrelated response.

I find the Migii JLPT app extremely helpful and reliable. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate. To fully appreciate its features, we need to explore it further. My cousin, who recently passed the JLPT N4 in just one take, highly recommended this app to me.

A great app however even if you purchase a premium account, they still show advertising in the banners of some screens of the android application! They also spam you to upgrade to premium in numerous screens and promotions even if you have premium already! All in all a good app, just would also be nice to have access to lists of grammar and vocabulary in the app for people with OCD like me and perhaps show a rating next to the item to show your current progress. Flashcards would also be good.

I really love this app! I had an issue once, and the Migii support team literally released an update just to fix it for me. Their response was incredibly fast, and I truly appreciate their dedication. Huge thanks for the quick fix! (Old Issue - Now Resolved: I bought a subscription and later switched to a new device but the app wasn’t working. After reporting it, the team quickly resolved it with an update). Highly recommended!

This app is designed to test knowledge that you've already learned elsewhere. It's not particularly good at teaching you new information. The content is relatively boring. Sometimes the information is incorrect either the Japanese translation or the English translation. All in all it's a good resource to take practice tests. I was looking forward to using the roadmap, but I found it lacking in utility.

Nice how they have reading transcripts, but the exposure of Kanji is highly inconsistent and not formatted in a way to learn them or to implement Kanji that you've already learned. The particles of kanji aren't all described and they use the wrong particles for the Kanji in the sentence examples versus the explained definition. Also, exam answers have the wrong answers for more questions than I liked to see. Probably better programs out there, not worth paying if it's hard to learn here.

This is probably THE best way to study for the JLPT! I haven't taken the exam yet, but I feel much more confident since I got the app! It's not to teach you Japanese from scratch, but as long as you know that and use it just to study/support lessons from elsewhere, then you should absolutely get it! I especially love the listening practice! It's almost impossible to find listening practice suitable for beginners, so that alone makes the subscription worth the price! Support is fast and friendly!

They did a really good job with the app structure imo. It has grammar Flashcards to get myself familiar with them. Those flash cards have a button to quickly view example sentences. Convenient if ut not familiar with it. Then there's the quizes which have buttons to quickly view word definitions and translation of sentences. The audio for the quizes is really clear and ofc button to view transcript, vocab. It's a bit slow on the first lookup of a word definition but its a really convenient app.

I like the app, very easy to use. But the settings for types of notifications don't work. I really enjoyed getting a notification each day with a new piece of vocabulary. My current settings have learning notifications on and sales notifications off, but I only get sales notifications. Swapping the toggles for both types of notifications doesn't change anything either...

Its great for studying for the JLPT exam. Its nice to get use to text questions. But in terms of actually learning the kanji and grammar its not helpful. Example: I've done the road map tab for a while but it during the practice keeps showing me the same easy kaniji 3 or 4 times during a set of 10 then during the "examination" it shows me 4 kaniji its never had me practice before. And the flashcards need an option to shuffle them. I don't want to memorize the order.

Initially thought app was amazing. Changed opinion over time. It's good and pretty comprehensive. Multiple English errors throughout, which is not a big problem. My beef is that the app isn't completely accurate in the JAPANESE grammar section. Intercangeable particle usage not being accepted or explanations of correct answers being "because this is the form" are not helpful, and can be confusing/misleading. In my opinion, not an app for total beginners (I'm not). Review changed from 5 to 3.

Good if you're willing to pay. You can only get a 8 day streak before you're forced to pay to keep going. I know these things can cost money but there are others out there and ones that don't force you into getting premium for over nearly $200 for the lifetime to keep using the app effectively.
