Literally the worst text processing app ever created. If you want to use this to actually write and create documents... Just boot up your laptop/desktop right now because this app is basically unusable for this. The mobile autocorrect/autotype function does not work in this app half the time. Trying to place the cursor mid-sentence or mid-word is basically impossible... you will select the entire line making little edits nearly impossible. Honestly would rather just use any notes app than this.

Of all the note taking apps I've used, this is by far the worst. The predictive text doesn't work. When I click on a suggested word it glitches and thinks the word was entered even though it wasn't. Very frustrating and painstakingly slow to write this way on a mobile app when all other options are capable. And I'm paying for this one!

Word on mobile phones is very useful for creating, editing and/or updating documents on the go. Obviously, the small size is slightly more difficult to manage, but if you don't have the time or space to pull out your laptop (or if you don't have a laptop), then this is the next best step. This is an excellent combination with OneDrive and an Outlook account.

AND NOW I CAN'T PRINT bc of some obscure privacy setting that I haven't changed. And the link that pops up doesn't show how to fix it! I hate you guys. Edit: Problem occurs in Mobile View not Print View. Original: Completely unusable now. The new update has slowed my typing down. I get done typing and it's like 20 characters behind. I don't even know if I've made a typo for several seconds.

I regularly encounter the same errors on both my Pixel 6 and Lenovo Tab that make this app essentially unusable. Most notably 1) unable to open docs ("Sorry, something went wrong and [document] can't open") that can only be resolved by deleting all local app data (not just the cache) or reinstalling and 2) failing to persist local changes to the cloud even when my Internet connection is strong and stable. This is unacceptable for a purchased app, and especially from a company like Microsoft.

As of the new update, 1/24 this has become the worst App ever. A complete nightmare. Now, saved documents cannot be edited correctly. Discontinued color themes and Font changes, original fonts are not saved on documents. It is really heart breaking. I will not continue the use of this App, I cannot with my job, moving to Google. Disappointed in Microsoft, big time!

Lately the Word app has been glitchy with Gboard. I will swipe a word in Gboard (Google's keyboard) and it will sometimes not show up properly in Word, or I start a word and tap the suggestion and it won't show up in the doc. MS Word does allow me to save to the cloud so that I can open the document on my device or computer. One thing I would like to have different is if tapping the pencil icon would allow me to edit where I last left off, instead of moving the cursor to the top off the screen.

In previous editions of Word for Android, speech to text was amazing! But recently on my newer phone (Nokia 310), most of the time Word gives me a "check network connection" error. I've got data, and other apps' speech to text works. So what gives? Ironically, outlook's still works, so I've taken to using Outlook's speech to text, then laboriously copying and pasting it into Word, which implies it's not my phone type or my data, but just a lapse in judgement for one of several Microsoft projects

The constant zooming in and out when typing and placing images is horrible. It took me 15 minutes to place 3 screenshots and type a paragraph, because the app kept zooming in and out and placing the images in weird places. The effort I expended, it is not worth it to use this app. Most frustrating experience. Better to draft an email and write a word doc when I get to my pc. I will never draft another document in this app again. ZERO STARS

Recently, while using the app, when typing and the word I want pops into the keyboard suggestions, Word will not add it. It says it does, but it does not appear. It then breaks the entire paragraph because it says the word is there, but just combines multiple words together. It's annoying and the complete reason why I'm not using the app anymore. And it's just Word. The suggestions on the keyboard work everywhere else.

I've enjoyed this app for a long time, but the most recent update has had some bugs. Since the last update, It doesn't work with keyboard, and all the things the other people below have said. When you tap to have a recommended word put in, it won't put it in. It combines words regularly, and everything others have said down below. Please fix it! Thank you! 😃

Allows me to do my work on my phone when on the go, even when I have no physical keyboard available, and continue to work on it at home. Has a lot more features than most other word apps I've used, including WPS Office, and is far more reliable than that particular Word knockoff from China. This app even lets me make tables and, while the controls are understandably a little clunky on the small screen of a phone, even format those tables to a good degree of customization.

This works decently for my phone. My biggest gripe is that I downloaded the EXACT same app on my tablet and that version doesn't have access to themes to allow for Dark Mode. As someone who suffers from light sensitivity, Dark Mode is essential. Very frustrated and disappointed that the exact same functions aren't available for EVERY platform. Especially for a program that brags that you can pick up right where you left off regardless of what device.

I love being able to access my documents from the computer on my phone with Microsoft Word. This app worked great when I originally installed it, but since the last update in Feb 2024, both Word and PowerPoint "keep crashing", and I keep getting warnings on my phone to "put them in deep sleep to keep my phone running smoothly". I'm not sure what the problem with these apps are since they updated?

If you like nausea then this app is for you. Issues: frequently zoom in/out; page count is different from desktop versions and mobile versions (eg. On phone app it'll show 40pgs and on desktop it'll be the correct page amount 34pgs.); deletes your file zeros it out to 0 bytes (make several backups); context menu strip blocks view of where your typing when in edit mode; search function is buggy, if you find a search and try to edit something in the area the app send you back to cursor location

LATEST UPDATE ISSUE!!! Auto corrections STILL DO NOT WORK when typing in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, using Gboard on Android phone ( Google keyboard) does not allow word replacement when tapping the suggested word. It worked months ago but as of the last 2 updates to MS apps 2024 stopped working! (Gboard autocorrections works perfectly in all NON- MS apps. ) PLEASE FIX!!

I'm changing my review. This is the absolute worst app for writing. You really need to fix the problem with autocorrect. You also can't double space for periods. It's just a slow exhausting problem using this to write. I do however absolutely LOVE the AI text to voice so I won't ever delete the app, and that's the only reason it's getting two stars.

I have Office 365 & use Word for text editing. In Word Mobile, text selection is a bit difficult at times. Smart Lookup needs some tweaks too – some words it can't define correctly, but Google can usually find the right definition. Sometimes when I edit my files on PC, Word Mobile won't allow me to edit it unless I save it again into a new file. Sometimes Word Mobile can't find the file I want to open, but I can open it fine on my PC. Despite some bugs, this is pretty good... 👍🏻😎

I use this app for personal use more than anything. I love having the ability to type out the short story I'm thinking about. So convenient. I love the variety of fonts available and the different types of pages. My only nitpicky complaint (it's not even worth taking a star away for me): when you first load a document, whether it's a new one or an older file, and you go to select your font it glitches back to the very beginning after 3-5 seconds. Regardless, I still love the app.

Didn't get very far in the free trial, it aggregates me! I want to edit a downloaded document, but the font location doesn't line up no matter what I do. I save the color and size of the font, but it doesn't work when I type. It saves the color as long as it's not black. I can save hot pink, green, purple, etc, and it'll come out that color, but black turns to gray instead. And the font size changes back every time I get out of the settings! This is useless. Unsubscribing now
