It seems to make a backup of the contacts, but then repeatedly did not attach them to the outgoing email it created. The email arrived at its destination with no attachment. We can't blame the Carrier, either as the email in the 'sent' box had no attachment.

Was a very convenient and easy way to backup contacts. Now the app crashes every time it's opened. I've cleared cache, uninstalled and re-installed, removed my phone's firewall, gave app all permissions, but no luck. Have devs abandoned the app? Suggestions?

Doesn't work, app crashes on opening. Tried to restore but it crashed so I can't see what's in the backup as it maybe so out of date you would want to use that backup. Last update from the developer was 2018, so its probably why it doesn't work any more.

Been using this for years, although haven't done a back up for a while. Disappointing that the app doesn't seem to have been improved much since I last backed up. Why isn't there a scheduling option for backups as opposed to a reminder? Pretty basic thing really.

once again working great checked on 30th October 2021 all ok now, its an Amazing and gorgeous app. just keep saving contacts list time to time after adding new friends and save the backup contacts list in your email or the given options and to retrieve the contacts list just download it in your new mobile phone or after factory reset all the backup contacts will be retrieved automatically. Nobody can lose their contracts anymore.

Easy to use, works well. Use it to send contacts from one phone to another, or a computer for storage, without sharing your data with Google. 4/3/24 - Still works good. Ads can be annoying but the app is worth it.

Great contact manager but it started to crash with my new Samsung S20. No longer works. Was a very convenient and easy way to backup contacts. Now the app crashes every time it's opened. I've cleared cache, uninstalled and re-installed, removed my phone's firewall, gave app all permissions, but no luck. Have devs abandoned the app? Suggestions?

I downloaded contacts file and it wants a password to show it to me but not clear whether for my email, my MS sign in or my computer sign in which are all different. When I finally got to open the vcf file after spending ten minutes struggling with that, it only shows one contact, and no indication how to see all the other 500. So completely useless. I am using a yahoo email not in outlook

Unfortunately, I have a phone with no internet access. The location of the backup file is not mentioned in the app. If I click on the restore button, I have a list of existing backup files, and the folder scrolls slowly across the top, but that folder cannot be located, neither on the phone nor through a USB computer connection. A search for "vcf" or "mycontacts" or "McBackup" returns nothing. All of the "send" options require wifi, internet or bluetooth, none of which this phone can use.

Was good but now crashes on Samsung S9 and S20. Where are the backups actually stored? The in app restore shows a directory path, but the "files" subdirectory in that path is empty. It would be much easier to copy the backups to a PC via the USB cable or even wifi rather than sending e-mail to yourself with a large attachment and no option to compress it with the equivalent of WinZip or WinRar.

Stupid program. It says that the files are store in vcf and and be open up with any contact program. However, when i tried open it up, there is an error. The faq already said that it may not be compatiable with other system. The app does not allow me to restore the file. The programmer seem very unwilling to disclose where should the back up file be stored for the purpose of restoration.

Overall a good app and does the job nicely. Taking one star off for two minor things. 1) The permissions are not properly set for the location of the vcf file. Can see all apps in /data/user/0 except this one. 2) If you have multiple phone numbers for a contact, the default flag for the main number is not exported. All and all a great app and a time saver without being invasive to force you to upload your data to their cloud unlike some other apps.

This app USED to make it very easy to create a full backup of your contacts onto the phone or removable memory card and then send it somewhere safe - email, cloud etc. Contacts were all saved in a single .vcf file that you could import directly into the Android contacts app if ever needed. Even reminded me to back up periodically. However, whilst it WAS amazing, it no longer works - it just crashes on loading up. Every. Single. Time. No updates available. Very sad.

Great app! No need to store in the big tech cloud. Provides some privacy from Google, Microsoft and Amazon who host the most servers for cloud services where most phone users store their backups. Easy to use, send via email, and install to phone. If backup is performed after changes are made, the new backup only installs the changes and does not make duplicate entries. Mike Lindell's tech should have had him use it. Two thumbs up and kudos for the developer. Thank you.

Dec 2020 update: Crashes upon opening. Hoping for an update to fix for Android 10. 2018: Saves contacts data in a standard format to whatever email(s) you choose. Just leave them in your email archive as an offline "cloud" backup, or save the attachment to a thumb drive if you need an offline device copy.

This app worked very well for several years. Now every time I try to use it, it keeps stopping. It's no good as it is. If it were possible to give no stars, I would definitely do it. In spite of many complaints of the same nature as mine, it doesn't appear that the developers are interested in fixing this app so it can once again be the quality app it first was when I initially installed it. DEVELOPERS, WHERE ARE YOU?

I have more than 400 contacts and this app backs them up quickly and easily. Update: My phone died suddenly last April but fortunately I had an identical unused phone in storage. I got my provider to activate it on my existing account and got up and running again fairly easily. I did lose some data but everything that I had backed up with MC Backup was safe. Unfortunately, MC Backup has recently quit working on my phone - the app stops when I launch it. Now looking for a fix or a replacement.

First of all the ads cover the button to operate the app and I didn't find a way to reveal it. Next the default to limit contacts to only those with a phone number is absurd. Lastly if you are quick enough or can click the tiny part of the button showing behind the add it doesn't property attach the file to the email and I couldn't find the file where it was indicating it was stored. Bottom line useless waste of time.

This worked great for years and I had given it 5 stars. About a month ago, it quit working. As it was loading, it displayed a pop-up with 2 options, Stop the app or Send feedback. I sent feedback numerous times...to no response. I uninstalled and re-installed numerous times but it didn't help. 😕 This is very simple to use and backs up more contact data fields than others I've tried. BUT, it does not backup groups and worse, does not backup the group data field in the contact.

OUTSTANDING! FAST! ACCURATE! ------- No more need for troublesome & inaccurate Google contact syncing!------- This application does its job perfectly every, single time. ------------It is small, so if you have little storage on the phone, it's a very good choice. (It can be on the SD card, too.) I like how amazingly easy it is to figure out and use. Some apps are quite a project to learn- not this one. And it is FAST! It backed up my bazillion contacts in less than a minute. Then it was polite enough to ask me where it should be sent for safe keeping. ------------ Several days after I installed this, my phone had a brain attack and required transplant surgery. I did not want to use Google synced contacts for a restore because it is always missing some and many are corrupt or missing data. So, I sent my phone an e-mail with the MCBackup I kept on my computer, double clicked it and in less than one minute all of my contacts were back. None were missing nor corrupted. For fun, I made a new backup, nuked the contacts list & tried again. Perfect! Thank You Globile for creating this application and for providing it for us to enjoy!
