The glitches it seems to have, that make you go through multiple cycles of ads-- until I restarted the device I play it on. But also, the CC is *way off (like by 5-10 minutes.) Also, they have, bar none, the WORST timing for ads. In the middle of a sentence- if not a word!

Every 2 months or so, when I'm watching something on Max on my phone, it freezes my entire phone up. My phone is one without an easy way to take out the battery. So I have to put it in the freezer for an hour. So it will shut down. Then, when it shuts down,I power dark on & immediately uninstall Max. Then,reinstall it. It just sucks. But when I watch Max shows through my provider Hulu, I have no problems. When I watch it on my TV,there are no problems. So I guess the app just sucks on my phone.

The authenticator for this app is horrible. I was able to log into my phone alright but when trying to sign in on the PlayStation and authenticate with my phone I was prompted with 20 visual puzzles or 20 audio puzzles of garbled noise. It's infuriating too that it does not tell you if you got any wrong till they are all complete and even when I completed it successfully there was still an error after. Have not been able to sign in.

I have used this app for a while now, and the latest update has messed it up. I open the app, and it's stuck on the beginning screen still in loading mode. I can't even get to my account through the app. I have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled, turned off my devices for 4 minutes, turned them back on, and the app still not working at all. Still stuck on the opening screen.

Every time CNN goes to a commercial the app loads a waiting screen. This has always been the case since CNN launched. The screen never goes back to the show. It's been so long and never fixed the issue. Brand new high Today the app goes to a black screen and drains you battery. Super slow and takes up so much ram. These bots who insert links that don't work need to stop. They just need to hire enough people to make their product works. It has issues on PC and in chrome. They are just slackin.

I recently resubscribed to Max. same story as before. I downloaded the app to my TV. now, my TV isn't the newest, but Hulu, Paramount, Spotify, Apple, ESPN, etc... those apps all work without a hitch. as soon as I reinstalled Max... the Max app is slow and clunky. my TV becomes slower. it crashes about a quarter of the time when I use the Max app. I have to reboot my TV so often now. I don't know what Max is doing with all of our money... but it's not going towards the app

The single worst streaming app I've ever had the displeasure of using. "Continue watching" only pops up when it feels like it. If you try to restart an episode the entire app crashes. You're lucky if it starts playing in the first 30 seconds you click on it. Garbage. Pure garbage. I try searching for the sopranos and it says they can't find the title? I know it's on Max. I'm in the middle of watching it. 1 star is generous. Do better.

Was a great app until it wasn't. For a little over a week, it's been "hanging" when watching either day or night. It's fine on the phone but I'm streaming via Amazon Firestick. I've restarted the firestick, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, done everything I know to do (including what's on your help/max page and it's still "hanging". Please fix!!!

This app crashes a LOT. I love the Max catalog, but I really hate all the bugs. For instance, if I want to throw on South Park for background noise while I work out, I often only get 3-4 episodes in before the app starts to tweak and freak out. Normally, this starts with a small audio delay, and then shortly after, the whole app will crash and freeze. This also sometimes happens when viewing a movie. It's also not an exclusive bug on my phone app. This happens on my PS5 and Sony BRAVIA as well.

Sometime in the past week or 2 they broke something. I put on a show at night to play while I sleep. The same show. But lately it no longer restarts the episode when auto playing to the next. I restart the initial episode then after it's done instead I get the last 10ish seconds of every single episode before it stops and blows through several seasons in minutes. This issue has been on my Chromecast HD. Please fix.

Horrible audio! I've had Hbo (Max) for a few years now... I promise you the sound quality can not be worse! You have to basically blast whatever you're watching it at full volume. The dialog is at a whisper no matter the device I try to watch. From smart phones to 80 ince television with a sound bar. You still can't hear anybody talking... I've asked around, and I haven't met a single person who can use this app with subtitles. Then randomly, the sfx is absurdly and obnoxiously loud.

Out of all the major streaming apps, this one is the worst. It constantly saves my progress in the wrong place (will say I've finished an episode even though I didn't). Sometimes won't resume episodes that I've stopped partially through and makes me start it over. UI is okay but still worse than the other major streaming apps as far as navigating and ease of use.

It would be really cool to just scroll down to see the selection, instead of having to stop and scroll right on every row just to see the same selections over and over and over and over and over again, reorganized under different headings. You're not fooling anyone into thinking there are more selections. You're only making it more obvious that there are less.

I usually am on this app every night watching something, but today it has glitched so badly, as soon as I pick my show. the screen goes black, and I can not go back, or use my drag down bar, I hear the show playing but I literally cannot do anything with my phone. I have to hold the power button for 3-5 minutes before I can even get it to turn off. unfortunately I will be uninstalling from my phone because I'm not going to try and even take the chance of it really.messing up my phone.

The UI is pretty good but there's one major long term flaw: It never remembers where I left off with a show or movie, thus forcing me to remember where I left off. It's actually so bad that it's discouraging me from watching anything on the app because of that hassle. I even stopped using the app for months and today I returned with the hopes that it would be fixed. Disappointingly, it's still an issue. What gives?

Worst streaming service with Best content. I get that revenue is necessary but Max has implemented the worst commercial system possible. It stops randomly, usually mid-sentence even if the show had commercials and natural stop points. The show continues to run behind the commercials, so if a question is interrupted you will rejoin AFTER the answer(so you miss it and any plot points) and pick up mid sentence in the next scene, which you have no reference for.

Works, more or less, but the play controls are terrible. Click the "rewind 10 seconds" button and it rewinds about 10 minutes. Then you have an awful time trying to find your place in the movie again, especially since the "go forward 10 seconds" button is very slow to react and gives unpredictable results. The slider is totally useless too, placing you at some random point in the movie.

There are a few annoying bugs. Sometimes I'm watching and the screen just shuts off, as if my devices aren't registering that there's an app that's active (on Galaxy S22 and IPad). Also, if I'm watching something and it gets interrupted by a call or alarm, once those are closed out, the app won't read any commands; I can't hit play, rewind, or do anything besides close the app and restart. The older app never had any of these bugs. Update: Playback command still unresponsive sometimes.

Out of Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Tubi, Pluto, prime, yt TV, Crunchyroll and every other streaming app I've tried, this is the worst of all. It constantly pauses to buffer even though my Internet speeds far exceed the requirements. Disconnects from casting constantly, pauses every 2 minutes. Content library is fine but I can't access any of it reliably.

A lot of glitches. After a commercial it starts the whole scene over on a show. It cuts off the last scene of shows. The buttons always pop up and don't go away unless you tap twice. Even when you turn off closed caption it comes back after every commercial or start of the next episode. If this app didn't come free with my phone service there is no way I would pay for it.
