Annoying that scans get canceled when leaving the app or turning your phone. Other than that it, works pretty well.

I've used this app for years now for time of flight photos.. went to show my cousin how a TOF camera works, and this was the 1st one on my brain list. Splendid

It's frustrating to use. If you accidentally rotate your phone or device, it backs out to the home screen and you lose your last scan point. Adds a lot of time to jobs.

Camera issue solved! If Matterport can't detect your camera, it's not Matterport causing it. For every 1 or 2 shots Matterport would lose connection to the camera and the only fix was to reboot the phone. Well, it turns out the cause was VMWare Intelligent Hub (my company's device management software). I uninstalled the VMWare Hub to use Matterport and it never had the issue again.

When it works, it's great! . . HOWEVER, I've had HUGE issues with my Google Pixel 3xl. App won't even load sometimes and or crashes. I think using phone in airplane mode helps....disappointed that the Samsung s10e does NOT work with app despite covering (easily) at least 3 of the 4 "parameters".....must not be "google certified" whatever that means.... . . ***EDIT*** and changed stars to reflect a resolution of sorts. . Yes, it seems in my case, so long as I am in airplane mode the app does not fail. Had 4-5 disconnects from the camera but that's an easy fix (1 was bc I walked too far away, the other 4 not sure). . . Also, DO NOT GET ME STARTED on master bathroom mirrors!

I downloaded this app to make a 3D scan of my room. I spent lots of time taking pictures, having the scan fail due to an error, and having to start over. After uploading my scans, the model that I got was garbage and they wanted me to pay to download it. The VR app is also hot garbage that may cause epeleptic seizures. I should have done my homework and spent my time using a different app instead. I would rate 2 stars, but seeing as I'm not the target audience for this app I'm giving it 3 stars.

Just awful. As a long time user of the matterport app for iOS, this is just a joke. App crashes, dropped connections, hell this thing has caused not one but 2 Pro2 cameras to hard lock and require power cycling. Images from one side of a site aligning to a corner 150' away. No shooting while images are aliging. I was SO damn excited when they released the android app.... turns out they might have wanted to test it first. With the iOS app near flawless, this is just embarassing...

My advice: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!! I tried it. I didn't care for it, so I uninstalled it. Now it seems that I'm getting pop-up ads for Matterport on virtually every other free app I have. This has happened a bit too coincidentally in my book. I'm not talking just one pop-up ad for Matterport when I open another app. I'm getting a pop-up ad for Matterport with every change of screen, every tap, within that other app! I'm going to have to reset my phone to factory settings.

It takes some doing but once you get the hang of it you can map out a floorplan quite nicely. It's not something you can rush through though. And I'm not 100% certain but I believe this app can also be used to manually take 360 photos on any cell phone. However, it's made for a device that can hold cell phones and make 360 photos and the like MUCH more accurate. I have seen people say that they have gotten better results doing those manually but I haven't had any problems.

Not for Android. Got a Moto g stylus 5g and this app is clearly not optimized for Android. It's slow, crashes constantly, and struggles to align at times even when I'm within the required steps from the previous scan. Also it sometimes brings me back a page to choose a job while processing a scan or when my phone rotates while it's processing. Anytime this app works right is a blessing and it's very frustrating when you have to start over a scan. I will say that it works rather well on iPhone.

The realignment process is extremely frustrating. First of all, it is very difficult to rotate scans. And then when you finally get it rotated and placed right, the stupid thing either says "low overlap" or "alignment successful" and completely changes the realignment... I have had one scan that I can clearly see overlaps from the other scan and I get it perfectly aligned, but then it says "alignment successful and completely changes/messes everything up! Lots of other issues but I'm out of spac

This is wonderful for people who want to learn virtual tours but don't use iOS products. However, it does require a high end device to get good results and you need a tripod. Also, despite using LIDAR, it does not create "3D" output, not stereoscopic. It takes a LOT LONGER to do a decent capture than with a Matterport or 360 cam. Matterport as a service is still very pricey. If you just want to create a digital twin of one space like your house or office just for fun, then this is very cool.

Works, but it's pretty buggy. Exits the capture screen if you move the phone a way it doesn't like. If it has trouble connecting to your camera, it puts an error message RIGHT OVER WHERE THE KEYBOARD APPEARS, & blocks the letters so you can't type those characters. Only way to clear the message is by restarting the phone. Certain features, if they don't work the first time, continue to say they didn't work even if you fix the issue. Crashes whenever I try to place a 360 photo on the map.

As soon as you changed the cutting and marking system it has increased my screen time drastically. Why can't I just have a choice? Why do I have to hit add, drag the cut across the screen, then line it up? Just let us have the old way or at least a choice! I have to do so many marks and cuts on large homes and it adds full minutes to the time I spend staring at the 3D space. The new system is highly inefficient and whoever decided it was a good idea is an inexperienced non-field working loser

There is a minor bug when rotate the display while working on a job. When the screen rotates, it backs out to the "Your jobs" page and any progress of a scan that was currently being processed does not save. It also does this exact thing even if you are just viewing a specific job. This doesn't clear all of the work, but still is an inconvenience since I have to rescan that point again.

We finally figured out that all the bad experiences were definitely because we were running the app on an iPad. We are now using our Galaxy 24 Ultras and it's so much faster. However, the app does not allow me to place my 2D scans on the map. When I tap the "place on map" it just says "please wait" and never does anything more.
