Edit: Phone key hasn't reliably worked at multiple locations on multiple phones. The new app looks flashy but is terrible to actually use. Super slow and i mean really really slow to open. With a GS8 it's the only app i have that isn't basicly instantaneous to open and use...it takes almost 10 seconds. Also, it uses a massive amount of memory for what it does. Obviously really poor developers. As a gold member it's really disappointing.

Update 6/16/2023 The app is still slow but has sped up. It logs me out often, which makes it very frustrating to use. Not a good app. 10/5/2017: The updated App does not work well on Android. It is slow to respond and doesn't allow me to search for hotels near an address. I want to reserve a hotel near a specific office location, not anywhere in a huge city! Until they fix it I'm uninstalling this useless app.

They finally got around to fixing the issue with it crashing on every launch but now it just says "something went wrong". It's a super helpful error and I deeply enjoy seeing that repeatedly when I'm trying to book travel. I've had to start booking with other chains because this app is borderline useless. I've tried other networks and even other devices. It's not me; it's Marriott.

This app (this program) is the biggest joke. Search kicks me out of the app to Chrome; after three "our server is being stubborn; please try again" errors, I finally got a list with the error that it couldn't currently show me availability or rates!!! It also can't show me properties on a MAP, because the popups over the map obscure the whole screen on a phone. Back to Hilton. Update: still can't book any stays because the map is still totally unusable on mobile - IN A MOBILE APP. Fix it!

This app is hot garbage. It constantly hangs during a search forcing you to close it and try again. When the search function DOES work it loads like the servers run off a 56k dialup modem. The transitions from swiping are not smooth. It will flat out refuse to scroll in any direction. Sometimes I try to scroll up but it will instead reload the page which, like I already mentioned, sometimes just doesn't work. Use Hyatt instead. Good hotels & a functional app. Imagine that.

For my last two stats, it failed to check me in and failed to activate cloud key. It completely lost track of the reservation once the stay started, even though the trip was still viewable on the web site. It's full of stupid bugs. For example, there's a feature that is supposed to allow you to look up and add current and past trips... But when you try to enter the check-in date, the app will not let you pick a date in the past. They should really spend some money on QA people.

8/14/23 Comment: Due to a recent update, the app became useless. I was able see the menu at the bottom but regardless of the different pages I opened, it was just another useless screen. I tried multiple networks but that didn't matter. Finally, I reinstalled the app and that seemed to work... for now. As a loyal Marriott member, I rely on it working. Hopefully this was a 1 time irritation. 10/18/17 Comment: Incredibly easy to use. As a business traveler, I use it weekly.

Worked great in the past however, lately it has become extremely slow and unusable. Especially with the search bar, it takes forever to search for hotels (and that is even if I get any results). I have used this app in the past and never had issues. Now it is just annoying and frustrating. Update: Lagging issues have been fixed! Working much better!

App not responding. Many times I have had this issue. I tried emailing owner of app with little info as to why there is a detected message, then a complete shut down of app. YouTube had a response. But after completing a force stop, clearing the cache, updating app, unstalling, reinstalling, restarting device, switching wifi to mobile, it still did not work. This app definitely needs immediate attention.

Now December, 2023, and the app has been crashing since the start of the year. Opening the app, I get an error and crashes. As a Titanium Elite, I travel a lot and would like to use mobile key and chat feature, but I'm blocked from having the full experience and conveniences when staying at Marriott hotels. Switched from Pixel 7 to Fold and same issue. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the app quality. Their IT let our user data get stolen twice before. Incompetent morons.

I will never be able to reconcile the fact that you can charge $150/night for a hotel room and provide such an awful, awful experience with your app and website. It makes me want to stay at other hotels because it's so miserable trying to book on your app or website. Constant freezing and crashing on both. Please fix this. It's been this way for a couple of years now. Hilton and even Choice Hotels provide a significantly better interface. Unbelievable.

Recent updates are anything but helpful. Im constantly getting logged out. Sometimes I can log back in, but often go around in circles being prompted to log in over and over, without ever successfully loggin in. App freezes. Is unresponive. Often doesnt load search info, and is suuuper slow if it does. Doesnt rememeber search preferences, even when selected to do so. I could go on and on. Trying to do anything on the app is a rough experience - number of bugs basically renders the app useless.

Update: Cant add guests to booking. Im out... Update: Bonvoy strikes again. The app has locked me out indicating I changed my email causing me to call customer support. Customer support is indicating the email is not changed... Bad System Update: Authentication issues have caused me to change my testing to a 1 star. This app is unusable! Slow and buggy. I don't see all of my current trips. Page loads are very slow. I use this app for international traveling and I rely on it to work correctly.

This app is really irritating. Login is poorly implemented. If I login with my fingerprint, it wants to send me a verification text. How dumb is that? It is literally a text to the same phone, so it is not adding any security - just wasting my time. Naturally once I enter the code, it jumps back to the fingerprint and starts over. So another text code. I reserve rooms frequently, and this stupid process happens every time. Also, any check box to save preferences to my profile don't work.

This app is awful. It constantly makes you do dual factor authentication, even if you just close the window for 5 minutes. It refuses to text me a code so it has to use email. 75% of the time I either don't get an email for several minutes or if I do get one the code doesn't work. I'm always surprised when I can actually log in. Awful app. It has been like this for months. Mobile key on the app NEVER works.

Loved the app, but recent update showing buggy behaviors; while I am able to log into the app and interact with the booking feature, I am unable to actually confirm or book a stay - every attempt results in an error message that indicates that there was a problem but that I wasn't charged (sorry, I didn't get the error msg number). A few other observations are, as some users have called out, the disappearance of the 'chat with front desk' feature, and the fact that Mobile key no longer shows.

I'm downgrading my five stars to a two star. Currently the app has been going crazy. Not working as attended. I've been having this app for a few years now to book travel in route when I'm on the go and it can't even load the basic home screen. However, I can still book but it's so glitchy at times. I guess Marriott doesn't care about their customers or even making money at this point because if they did they would fix this issue quickly.

Easy to navigate app and find hotels when you need them. The only downside is it sometimes doesn't show the appropriate discounts so you end up calling the actual hotel to see if they have the rate you're looking for (my problem has specifically been the explorer rate, which I understand, as it's not available for everyone) overall easy to use and navigate.

Can't use the app. Says my device is rooted when it's not. Automatically shuts down the app. No one is going to factory reset their device to hope that the app might work again. Edit: after uninstalling then reinstalling a couple more times, it now works. It works fine like it did for the first 10 minutes I had the app upon initial download. Edit2: after coming back to it after some time it's doing the same thing. Edit: 2 years later still doing it. Fail.

The app is great when everything is working, but I've found that things in the Android app break that are fine on the iOS version. I am running the latest version of the app. One example: for my current stay, wireless entry isn't showing up as an option on my Samsung S24, but when I log in through an iPhone, it shows up and works. Another example: a while back, a specific Marriott showed as fully booked on my S24 -- but logging in through the iPhone showed availability, AND allowed me to book.
