I paid for this app and now they tell me I can get a free starter plan for 1 year but then have to have subscription. I found the page that informs this and says to start the free year click here... I do and it sends me to the main page to navigate again only to arrive at the same spot. I would give 0 stars if I could. I have had this app for over 10 years and upgraded to paid version when requested. Now wants me to pay for subscription. I don't use enough to pay monthly. User BEWARE

For years I enjoyed identifying ships on San Francisco Bay with the Port of San Francisco app which used your tracker. Then I would click on a boat and find out where it's from, what it's name is. When I found out that I could download the app it just expanded into a whole different Realm. My friend in Poland sent me a couple of photos that he shot of a cargo ship passing him on a relatively small waterway. It was the LONGVANN. Now I follow the LONGVANN and with Google maps I can get closer look at the ports and the clues of what the LONGVANN is transporting. I'd like to encourage everyone to use Google to explore the places where the ships that you follow go.You can touch a building, and if Google has taken a street view you can descend into another part of the world. If Google has toured around you can follow the blue line in the street and tour the ville. BON VOYAGE!!!

The app misled me to believe that this was a one-time purchase and would cover all ships. It did not say that the more detailed GPS location info would only be available for one ship, and for only 24 hours. I am interested in having access to updated information about multiple ships, but do not have any use for this in-app purchase now that its limitations are clear. I could not use the feature and contacted the app developer immediately. Slow response from the developer, no refund. Waste.

The app does not refresh boats real time. There's a time lag, a boat is still showing two days after it pass through. A tug and barge still shows wrong location 6 hours ago. I paid for the app on Android 2 years ago and I am still not satisfied, 2 years later still no fix. I used the app for work at a Seattle lock and dam to track and see vessels transiting through. Please fix this app for Android users. I wish Shipfinder.co has an Android app. Their web version works very nicely.

I have used this app to identify the ships moving past me on the Ohio River. With the change to satellite, we now cannot identify anything without paying monthly. No longer worth it. I'll buy a pair of binoculars instead. Too bad, I liked the product and had already paid for the software (but you now also have to pay monthly too).

I only use the free version, and can only have 5 ships in a fleet, which is fine, but the app won't show all the ships. It's a hassle to keep resetting to show the ships. So, either the app isn't very good or they don't bother to manage even the lowest level functionality. I'm looking for a new app. I've used this for about a year, and that's enough. * It can't even display two ships at the same time. It's one or the other. Uninstalling

I hate that I paid for this app. It is no better at accurately showing a boats position than free versions. In fact it's worse than most. I need to when a ship is close to my bridge. Sometimes it shows them hours away when they are just minutes away. Sometimes it doesn't show a boat until it is right on me. Other times it shows the boat as sitting at the bridge long after it left. Very disappointed. I would not recommend paying for this app. I wouldn't even want this one free.

This app used to be great but clearly the creators' priorities have changed. I work out of the largest fishing port in the US, Dutch Harbor, AK, where this app has always been useful in allowing me to track and find different boats. But now, I have to pay to view ANYTHING out of the entire port. They keep responding to complaints, claiming that no functionality has changed, but that is an out right lie. I can no longer track ANY vessel movement in port and positions are DAYS old.

It's a good app to see ships in navegable waters but it does have some needs of improvement. Most importantly latitude and longitude, at the very least, 10° lines is needed and when i first purchased the app, it was fairly user friendly. Now as time goes by I'm having to purchase more features or ships data is either delayed or not there all together.

I have waited a long time to review this app. I have come to a conclusion. It is a flat out terrible user interface! My goodness, I've never used a program with so many glitches and loading issues. Sucker punch is when I paid finally paid for services in app, i am being told the vessel i am tracking has arrived and departed key west 10 times in 24 hrs! The vessel is 3/4 to Panama... and I had to call the crew to find this out.

This is great for finding what ship is moving and where. It has ships stats. I use it to see what is moving into Duluth Harbor Cams areas. It is going to be fun in the spring when the water ways are all open again. You can make a fleet, once registered, so you can easily see where your favorites are. I like the free version but might just purchase the better one, after investigating a little more. Great job, Devs!! I love this app.

At one time, I purchased this app with full functionality but since then, they continue to move more features behind another paywall. I understand money has to be made, but the price point for these added tracking options ($1 for 1 ship for 1 day) is insulting. A reasonably priced monthly subscription is okay in my book, even as just an enthusiast. UI is good and app is reliable, but beware of the prices.

it's great but everytime I turn it on it says no connection. then a lot of the just scrolling through the map is very jerky when its loading. I have plane finder which is very accurate and quick and not jerky.. the planes just keep cruising along with no delay on the screen. but this new aspect of tracking ships I'm very excited about

I've been using Marinetraffic for years. I finally uninstalled. The ads have become intrusive and obnoxious. Full screen with video and loud audio, have to wait to close the ad out, and sometimes multiple ads play back to back. That on top of small banner ads in the app. Why would I pay just to get rid of the ads when I won't get any additional vessel information without an expensive subscription? Goodbye

Have used it for many years, 90+% reliable. In some spots, sometimes the signal can't be picked up for Class B, 2 watt AIS units....and it seems to default to satellite. That gets bothersome. I'll be on my boat, Loose Caboose, in my slip, in Glen Cove Marina, Vallejo, California, and it goes to the satellite about 25% of the time. Do you have a receiver in the Carquinez Strait area of Vallejo / Benicia, California? A good app to have! And, excellent photos, too!

Was a decent paid app where you could see most of the free capabilities of the web version and with some extras inapp purchase (like augmented reality view) then they lost the shame and now I have a paid app full of ads and less features than before (and web version). Everything is under subscription, even the pictures of the ships are under "payment" (must see an add). The same pictures that you as user provide to them for free. Makes no more sense to buy this app.

Wow. Very disappointed. I've used the site for a while now and finally made the switch to the app. Figured the $5.99 USD would be worth it because of my frequent use and how cumbersome the site is. Well it's not worth it. After you pay the $5.99 you get access but the majority of ships have their "position received by satellite". You need to pay $0.99 USD per ship to get access to info for only 24 hours. Keep your money, skip the app and just use the website.

I'm tracking (or trying to, at least) a ship my loved one is working on, however the ship location does not update for DAYS at a time. I've tried paying the .99 for the updated location, and still nothing. ETA for their ship arrival at their destination port is either blank or stuck on an incorrect ETA date. (Really frustrating when I'm waiting on standby for a phone call and the ship doesn't even go into port). Oh, and notifications cost money too. I can't believe I paid for this app. #RipOff

Really love using the app for work, even subscribed! The only thing I don't like is I used to be able to purchase Access Plus for most ships, and now I can't for any ship anymore.*EDITED REVIEW 2 stars to 1 star* All access plus still doesn't work anymore and now the map just randomly zooms out when scrolling. Things like this will cause me to look for another app to use for my work purposes.

As a harbor tour guide, this app is exceedingly helpful. It is very detailed and easy to use. It is popular among all of my coworkers. A few things that would make it more helpful: - the ability to switch between metric and standard (imperial) measurements. Length in feet would be particularly great. -TEUs for container ships. -Maximum passenger counts for cruise ships.
