6/5/2019: i used to play the PC version early 2000s. the game is very pay to win. like jesus christ, they think we plant money trees or something. can't do much unless you spend money. its so sad that they want to be really greedy. 2/15/2023: im still giving this game 2 stars. The auto quest is annoying and there seems to be no way to turn it off. I came back and see that all of my stuff was reset. Thats super annoying. Now i have to take the time to level the skills i want and re equip them.

Great game, one of the most fun I have played on android... but too many glitches. Loading in on the title screen does not work half the time because "the server is unstable" and attempting to do most dungeons will just give you an endless loading screen while you miss opportunities to do expeditions. Edit, MapleStory team responded quickly with solid advice. Plus 1 star.

This is a good rendition of MapleStory. There's no way they could bring the full version to mobile so this is a dumbed down version. Graphics are still there, gameplay is tolerable, movement is a bit wonky would like that to get improved. But overall it's solid. The grinding is more focused on dungeon runs. Doing them daily etc. I'd recommend it to a friend. But it ain't for everyone

They're finally taking responsibility and balancing the characters that has needed it for 1½ years now. Hyper skills should not cost money, especially if we earned them through leveling. That's just one upgrade among the many others that are just as expensive with low success rates. This wouldn't be a problem but there aren't enough ways to make money, especially with this new patch. You're basically gambling but it's worse because there's no strategy to it. How's this game for kids?

edit: i really appreciate the fast response. So firstly i don't mind auto-questing, i think it could be helpful for grinding & getting lost, but the problem is when *I* tried to jump in and play it just didn't feel that intuitive or fun to me. I think more customization with the controls would go a long way. And having different zoom options too? It felt way too zoomed out. But that's all my input, because those are things that turned me off unfortunately. hope this helps in some way?

The graphics and music we all love are there. It was fun to be able to jump into this game and have that nostalgic feeling. Controls: They actually work very good on my note 8 screen. A option to customize the location and size of the controls would be nice. As for the joystick problem that some are reporting... well it's not the game. It's most likely the user. Remember that the movement control is to be treated as a joystick and not a d pad. If you slide your finger around instead of tapping on the directional arrows you will find that movement is alot more smooth. Content: The game has plenty of quest and dungeons to participate in. Also has some solo training areas and mini dungeons to enter. Seems like there is always something to do and plenty of daily's to bring you back in every day. Community: This one was the main game killer for me. Even though auto play is optional it seems like the great majority of players use it. It gives the game this feeling of loneliness and takes away the whole multiplayer fun out of it. While questing and training you run into other players often but the problem is that the players are not actually there. They are auto playing. So it feels like you are playing with other NPC characters and not other people. It's hard to even start up a conversation with anybody in game because of this.

Good features, not implemented well. Graphically the game is good, the sprites are small but detailed. The controls are not done very well. For whatever reason, your character stops moving at the edge of platforms so that you jump up, not over when trying to cross gaps. Meaning you have to back up and try again. The auto questing is a nice addition, but the AI is atrocious. If you are hunting specific enemies, you will walk through non targeted enemies, taking unnecessary damage.

HELP! I've sent several reports and bug reports and have not gotten any reply back! I'm having a bug problem where I lose attack everytime I level! This is starting to get very serious. I've contacted the pages several times both Facebook and the actual support. I keep losing attack constantly every level and its starting to bother me alot

I am not a fan of the controls. It's very automated to the point that you do not have to read the story. It IS optional to have the fight auto for you, but given the wide attacks and amount of drops, its easier to have it auto. I also had to install a relatively large file size to update the game. The cutscene did not even load properly. None of the character choices are explained well either and seem to be more aesthetic than different play styles. There's too much in the UI for me.

I'll be honest, the 2 stars is just because it's nostalgic. Other than that, the game hasn't changed except I only physically played 3 times. The rest was done in auto mode. It's too heavy with microtransactions and you have to rely on all the free stuff they give you or you'll never make progress. At the same time, you could spend $1000 and never hit max lvl. From lvl 1-99, I've owned 2 weapons and 2 sets of armor and they were handed to me. For such a large game, there's not much to do.

I would give more than 3 stars, but the problesm with the control and the auto battles and navigations, I wish there was an option to turn them off, they kind of ruin the fun of adventuring for yourself. And also the controls, it would be better if there was just a joystick, its hard to get comfortable with. So please change some stuff in the next update.

The controls are straight trash. It's going for something great but it bogged down by sluggish unresponsive and unintuitive controls. The only way I'd play this would be with a controller to avoid the control issues but this game isn't worth that effort. If I was going to do that I'd just as soon put forth the effort to play the full game on PC. Also the gear and loot system is awful. How hard is it to make a mobile version of a great PC game? Apparently very if you look at what these devs are doing.

It makes me miss the PC version (also, I miss having a PC)...the controls could be a bit better as well. To elaborate, I dislike that they aren't adjustable and are fixed to one spot. I hope the devs also have plans to add in a fully or semi-immersive option as well, that way the controls don't take up the whole battle field. There are few things more annoying than trying to tap a rune while in Star Force but instead selecting the chat window or the quest list or something equally obtrusive. Another issue, I don't know whether it's because my phone is an ancient relic (Galaxy Note 3, or what, but this game seems to crash a lot on me, specifically every time I enter the cash shop for more than 60 seconds. I mean, I can take a hint if Nexon doesn't want me to buy anything but I like to at least look at the items sometimes. This happens on both the busiest server, Scania and on the least populated server, Union, at all times of the day or night. What gives? Otherwise, I'm pleased as punch with this game, please continue making it more like the original. 😄

Tried this game over a year ago, complaining that the controls weren't great. Just tried it again, and I don't think they were ever updated. It's so unintuitive. I was so frustrated with just the Forest of Endurance tutorial, I didn't bother letting it finish downloading before uninstalling. Not letting people change direction mid jump is annoying. A fixed virtual joypad can be tough to use. And for some reason, it gets stuck with me moving in one direction. Disappointed things weren't changed

It's OK, but needs improvements and bug fixes. Some good stuff, like nice pixel graphics and amazing quest system. Skills are easy to manage, and there's a great deal of content. The gear system isn't the best. You've got the same low to mid tier weapon throughout the game unless you get lucky with draws, which cost money. In my experience, when I tried to purchase gems, the app never completed the purchase. When I reached out for support, I never got a reply back in game or via email.

One of the worst games that I have seen in a very long time, for very many reasons. All of the quests are automated for you. You just manage your inventory. You don't do anything but sit there and watch. You can actually bypass your quests simply by leveling up and unlocking the next quest in the line. This is bad because you out level the story very quickly, doing literally anything that isn't pure story. Even if you try to do your quests yourself, the controls are some of the worst controls I've seen on mobile. That, and enemies will spawn on top of you, dealing damage instantly. The game is plagued with crippling issues such as bosses appearing in places they shouldn't be, like cities. A single cosmetic item costs somewhere around $5. You don't even get a full set, literally just gloves, or a dress, or hair, per $5. Some classes are remarkably underpowered compared to others, which are remarkably strong. This sucks due to the fact that in boss fights, the best players (players who dealt the most damage) get rewarded while others don't. It's setting up a meta of "Use this class only if you want to have a chance to succeed at all. I regret spending money on this game. It was fun for the first 30 levels, but past that is where all of the issues began to really shine.

Like many others, I want to love this game, but it's a chaotic mess. There's too many popups, useless information everywhere, it's completely unimmersive because it plays itself (auto-battle), there's too many classes which lack identity, you get teleported everywhere which kills exploration, it discourages teamwork, and it's p2w. - This game carried the aesthetics and audio over while ripping the soul out... just like desktop. Is cosmetic NX and teamwork NOT PROFITABLE? If so, I understand.

A decent game, but a lot could be better. One of the main things, is event/activity SCHEDULES. My time (EST), has guild fort battle starting at midnight. Which means I'll never get to play it. Should allow for us to choose a time zone, to be able to play everything. Still have an issue with gem fusions being such low chances with only 5% success rate. Autoplay item pickup is bad, leading to a large loss of Mesos. Autoplay should also be able to use movement skills. No more space to type.

Gameplay consists mostly of auto-battling for hours, doing daily dungeons (most of which can be auto-battled), and saving up for exponentially expensive minor upgrades to gear. Bots are rampant. Micro transactions are P2W and predatory but that's not surprising coming from the company that literally invented lootboxes. It's just a boring game unless you really like auto-battling.

really fun and addicting. The game is like watching an ai play maplestory for me. I can take control when things get tough, or if I wanna kill a bunch of snails with a cool flashy move, i can. the in Game purchases are just for cosmetics and buffs so far, and you can just click the x at the top when they pop up and keep playing. the only down side is the ui being over run with random little icons, maybe be able to minimize more of the ui. the menu overwhelms you too with things you don't need
