This is a great magnifier app to use without have to take a photo. It really helps to see the small print on prescription bottles, clothing tags, OTC meds, makeup, or anything your phone can get in to focus on with the camera.

This is a fun little app that lets you use your camera as a magnifier. I have an idea for an improvement. Add a "lighted mirror" feature that uses the front camera and turns on a ring of bright white pixels around the outside edge for better illumination, like a lighted vanity mirror.

Why don't they combine this app with camera app to be as a part of the camera features? Seriously, what's the point of separat app of the same app? It's like they made an app then the they put some features in a different app.. When Google learn from Apple?

Amazing being able to control the back LED's brightness. This is a game changer for flashlight use!

I appreciate the change so that it not technically works on the lock screen but I can't use Quick Tap on a Pixel phone to launch the app on my lock screen which is rather saddening

Super awesome app. Way better than using your camera for viewing small objects. That's not exactly what cameras are designed for. This app is designed & set up for viewing tiny things & it's a way better experience. If your eye sight is failing or not it's great.

The Magnifier app is a helpful tool for improving your vision. It allows you to zoom in, brighten, and adjust contrast to aid your vision. You can use your camera to magnify small text, see object details, or zoom in on faraway text like street signs or restaurant menus behind a service counter. The app also offers visual effects to make low contrast text more visible. In low light environments, the brightness is automatically adjusted for better visibility.

I wish there was a better image stability algorithm when you zoom in. It can be a little shaky.

I like that I can control the brightness of the flashlight. But for some reason it sucks down my battery and makes my phone get really hot.

This application is very convenient when you want to temporarily access fine, print in a supermarket or be able to do on-the-fly, translation or need enlargement of anything temporarily. Very useful utility.

Awesome app. Can not believe how much this magnifies...I can zoom in and see the strands that make the threads in my jeans. Nicely done, and does very well. Option to use your light or take pics also

I just downloaded this app and quickly tried it. In that short time, I have to say that it's the best magnifier I've used yet. It focuses quickly, the enhanced view is very nice, and I love the various colored contrasts like yellow on black, black and white or yellow/blue etc. making it easier to read. The flashlight works very well with this app also. It will be great for reading price tags, restaurant menus, grocery boxes and more. I am very happy with this app! Thank you Google!

Love the app but it would greatly benefit from haveing a manual focus setting! Edit: I was thinking a slider so that you could set the phone a distance away from your subject and then focus in on it. However, I didn't know about the long press to lock the focus and that works just as well. Love it. Thanks

I'm glad Google finally made this and they need to make more apps for people with disabilities. But the image quality in this app is horrible. Unless your outside in sunlight the image quality when zoomed in is really bad. My other free magnifier app blows this one out of the water. But it's a start I suppose, as long as they improve on it and didn't just shove this out there just to say they have it.

Great to see a magnifier app directly from Google. The contrast and flashlight adjustment settings are great. I also appreciate the ability to take a still image of something to view clearly without it saving to your device /Google Photos. However, I still find myself using the camera app / video mode + the screen magnifier for a more "stable" view of something I need to quickly see or read. (Pixel 6)

I couldn't see the use vs just the camera, but played a bit and think I get it now. In a lit room it seemed the same. However, in the dark I could see things in this app that wouldn't be seen on camera without light or taking a photo then looking at it in Google photos (more files to delete, just to see/read something), since I can't use flashlight app w/camera. Might be useful just walking when it's so dark you can't see. Maybe; haven't tested that yet.🙂 Dark restaurant menu next. 🤞🏽

This is (ahem) magificent. I'm glad to have it. With it, I can read fine print, or (on a Pixel 7 Pro) zoom across the room to read a sign on the wall in a busy pub ("Ah, *that's* what the specials are!"). I have it set up so two taps on the back of the phone open the magnifier, and I use it nearly every day.

Nice clean app with just the controls you need. Manual lighting control works great. The only problem I have, and it's pretty big(FIXED....see update below), is at certain zoom levels the app switches back and forth between different lenses and near impossible to get a clear image. The app NEEDS an option to lock the lens or pick the lens to prevent this! This is on P8Pro, likely affects others. Update!! Since the August 13 app update, Manual Lens control works great! Thank you coders!

Great visual aid. It 'clearly' serves its purpose - to bring things to greater visual clarity by magnification and/or by making things brighter. There is also image stabilization - VERY helpful. (But for the reviewer thinking about using this to help walk at night, this app probably won't help. Great idea though! 😃👍) This app will remain close at hand on my main screen! NOTE: There is a little icon at the bottom-left. This control has lots of useful additional settings (brightness, etc.).
