As you progress through the game, you'll have the opportunity to expand your kingdom and unlock new powerful spells and abilities. But be warned, your enemies will also grow stronger and more dangerous. It will take all of your strategic thinking and quick decision-making to defeat them and keep your kingdom safe.
The key to victory is to master the art of magic and strategically upgrade your heroes, giving them new weapons, armour and abilities to make them even more powerful. Your heroes will be your most valuable asset, each with their own backstory and personality, you will come to care for them as they fight bravely on your behalf. But remember, in this world of might and magic, not every hero will survive every battle. So choose wisely, and lead your heroes to victory.
The fate of Avernum is in your hands. Will you rise to the challenge and become the ultimate hero, or will the forces of darkness prevail? The choice is yours in this epic heroes magic war strategy game.

So far so good. Let's see how it unwraps further down the story line. Update: downgraded to 3 stars from 5 due to: autocombat is as stupid as it can be and of course, greedy humans, money, money and money everywhere, every corner sells something. Upgrade: downgraded to 1 star due to the game doesn't work any more. It loads up to a certain point and stays there forever. Uninstall :(

This game is pretty much might & magic Hero Quest for mobile, but, to get past obstacles or advance you have to pay for it or wait forever to pay that toll. And the value for money is pretty damn obscene. You pay alot, but you get bugger all for it. I also doubt that the leader board is real at all, judging by the fact noone seems to change their nickname and there is no chat feature. It's odd.

I'm sitting there playing the trials, I beat the trials but I went down in level even though I won. They took my level from me! Now because I WON I have to fight my way back to the level I was at mind you I WON! Now I've downloaded two more games so I can get the free gems. I started playing on the win double and I still haven't got them. I played up to level 800 in match makers and to level 80 in color water sort 3D. It's been a week. It's a fun game but they're ripping me off. 2 months now

Totally unbalanced events, enimes have 4 times my armies power and I'm lucky to kill half that before I die.

Has bugs at higher levels I have cyclops and mindcontrollers with anti-retaliation ability and it doesn't w6 for me but does for AI so that's a bug or a cheat. Also the hero Night King's Raise the Dead ability raised a stack of spiders which I couldn't control and which the AI's other stacks of spiders ignored since it was no threat. These are serious problems for a game that's been around as long as this one has.

Massive pay walls to make progress I've spent $150+ on this game and each time you to progress to new or even the rotating weekly challenges jump in difficulty is staggering. You would have to spend probably close to 1-2k to be able to clear this game. No chance for ppl that go free to play route incase you're wondering. Game play and graphics are great though, but progress going from few dozen monsters, to over 10k how it is in stage/world 8 is just insane difficulty. Unless I want to drop 1k+

first few fights will be winnable . you get few stacks more heroes when the enemy triples/quadruples in quantity. the resource distribution is poor. will award 1 or 2 upgrade materials but the nxt upgrade req x10 before. there is reward in map completion but cant play complete map unless you unlock by paying in game gems, and gets expensive as you progress further. im fine with spending but this game will really be expensive. hey devs, you ever played this? helloooooo

At first the game goes smooth, I even spent around a hundred dollars because it's more exciting. Not long into the game, around level 10, you'll find you can play for 3 seconds then watch NONSTOP 30 second videos. Suddenly you need lots of gold. Gems are hard to get, and gold is even harder. It wants 8000 gold to advance a character, but it'll allow you to collect way less than a 1000 in a week. You can use real money to buy expensive gems that allow you to buy a paltry sum of gold. Expect delay

Wow! I expected nothing and found a great balance between strategy, fun, and a free model that the rewards for ADs are ok (could use a little reduction in the cost for the treasure sections) Give it a try but don't expect to not use strategy. Same battle could be defeated with a different squad. PS. Would love a mechanic that swaps hero's better. This option is great for setting up certain squads. 👍

This game is pretty great. It's basically a static homm game. My only grievance is that gold costs are very high, and the fact that you need to spend gold in the shop for daily quests is extremely annoying. Often I cant even affor any of the five options. I should be able to prioritise what to spend my gold on, instead of being forced to buy whatever is on sale.

absolutely disgusting seeming im only into 2nd castle n there is no way to defeat enemies unless i spend real money over it really gets to me why people can make these games to make people spend money otherwise it would be a awesome game shame on yous

Similar to Heroes of Might & Magic in combat, but not in castle building. Great game. Closer to 'scratching that HoMM itch' than any other game I have found on Google Play so far.

This game was great. But after some upgrade it may happen that You don't get rewards for the arena challenges. Getting the critical chance or luck bonus is random but in a very strange way. One can have 4 times more chances go get a bonus (40% vs 10%) but in the real dueal the oponent has 12 additional attack chances in 3 turns versus 2... Of course this may happen but not in so often. Something is not right.

I don't really mind that the game is 90% ads, 10% gameplay - well,I suppose I could use a few dozens % more gameplay, but anyway -, but not even the ads load everytime, it just tells you to come back after a minute and hours later, still same message... You're doing it wrong guys... Game has potential, but it's too annoying to do even daily quests or the 3h boosts that REQUIRE ads to be completed,so... NOPE

The game itself is quite nice, but one thing is horrible. Daily and weekly and monthly quests do not reset if you don't complete them. One task is to buy sth from the card-shop, which gets quite expensive. I'd rather skip that to use my resources for upgrading my units. Doing that i can completely forget about those rewards. Also the reward for completing those quests (the boxes) are not really worth it. It'd be nice if you could rework that quest reward system.

Kind of fun, but so unbalanced us to be unplayable. Your power advances based on random things you get. There are so many random things, that there's no guarantee your power will advance at all. But the game is designed so that the difficulty advances. Which means you will hit a wall and if you don't spend money you're stuck forever. The arena put you against people who have gone through the same RNG absurdity. Also the leaderboard is completely fake. Sort of transparently so.

Fun game. I really want to give it highest marks, however your choice of advertisements that require constant engagement thru the multiple site redirection in a single ad, forces me to deduct a star. Since the play store has no way to report this type of infuriating ad, I am left with only the option of reflecting my unhappiness within the rating of the game developers. If you need specifics, pretty much any ad by the idle tycoons makers, such as zombie tycoon etc.

Been playing for several months now and the game was pretty good free to play fun. I could choose to watch ads to heal my creatures and fight more often, or for a little extra gold and a materials. After about level 4-5 on a creature though and the ads become meaningless aside from healing. Still the game was ok despite the 3:1 ratio of adds to gameplay. After this latest update however, you are now forced to watch ads when changing screens, collecting bonuses, and even after watching ads!!
