It's way harder if not impossible to get enough coins to buy a song without spending real money. And my achievements seem to have stopped working. For example the achievement perfect 10s where all you have to do is get perfect on hard for 10 songs. I know for a fact that I've gotten pefect on more than 10 songs but it's still stuck at 3 songs. If it wasn't for the nostalgia and the occasional free songs I'd have no reason to play this anymore.

It's.... alright. I've had this for years, and I remember really liking it back when I first got it. I still kind of like it, but as others have said, timing is strange. It almost seems like a rush to play certain songs. I do miss the alternate instruments they used to have though, as well as the mechanic for earning coins based on song completion. As nice as this app is, I will eventually hit a wall with song unlocks. The offers don't work for me, and I will eventually run out of achievements.

Fun to play and has all your favorite songs. Only problem is if you really want to have your favorite songs I'd recommend doing in app purchases because the offers don't tend to work well and you only get 1 or 2 smoola's(what you buy songs with) each time you level up. I wish there were higher and better rewards when leveling up. I also wish that they would put more free songs to play so you wouldn't have to wait a few days to level up. I just hope things change to make it more enjoyable.

Won't let me play anything due to no connection despite having a connection. Also, expensive but fun when it used to work. For $4.99 a month I'd like to see some new features added. I wish there was a way to filter songbook to see which ones I haven't played/haven't gotten full stars for/etc. Would also like to be able to save my favorites.

I used to have an iPhone and LOVED this app. Spent a lot of time perfecting songs. Recently switched to android and the app is a lot different, has literally no options in the settings, and when I logged into my account NONE of my songs or achievements switched over. Which is super frustrating since it should be the same account. I've never left an app review before but felt compelled to do so with this. Hopefully they update it to be more like the iPhone app.

This app was wonderful when it first came out. Then they 'updated' it, and the timing is terrible. The rhythm of the colored dots does not match the music at all. It's like they speed toward the bar as fast as possible forcing you to play as fast as possible and the song is completely off beat. Please change it to the original correct timing so that the colored dots reach the bar at the correct time!

It's a decent app, except....Notes drop down so fast at the beginning of EVERY song I play. I have to restart the songs EVERY time to get the songs to restart normally. Not good at all, because it messes with the daily challenges. I can't get a good score because of it. I've already tried deleting data and cache, uninstall/reinstall, and still the same thing. Just wanna put that out there.

Fun app, but it's got a lot of issues with smoothness. It constantly thinks I'm missing a key, even thought I KNOW I am not. I can feel all of my fingers touching the screen. It is not a problem with hardware, as I am running it on an S9 with no screen cover, with plenty of storage and available RAM, on wifi averaging 190Mbps. The premise of the app is great, and I would enjoy it, except for when I'm trying to beat my own high scores, I am constantly being frustrated by screen stutter.

I've had this app for years now and it's definitely gone downhill since my early years. The ads that start in the middle of songs are ridiculously frustrating and I have to start the whole song over because it ruins the flow and timing when you get thrown back in after the ad. And levelling is VERY slow despite the hundreds of songs I have. I appreciate the regular free options every week but sometimes they get repetitive and I end up with 10 versions of the same song.

I like the game, but I have a few problems with it. First of all, there are abnormal amounts of advertisements. And second, almost every. Single. SONG. Requires at least 25 "smoola" (coins) to even play! This wouldn't be such a problem for me if smoola weren't next to impossible to get. The only way you can get them is by getting achievements and leveling up. If the creators fix the smoola issue, then my rating would definitely increase.

*Preview of songs and their gameplay are not the same. Just compare preview and gameplay of "Like My Father by Jax" for example, and it's not about one or two songs, it's general. The problem is about tempo and spacing between notes. Please fix it so gameplay can guide to play realistically like preview. *When u use search, there's no songs from "my songs" section between search results. Please fix it. Thanks.

I played the app a LOT in the past (like 5 years ago) and I recently redownloaded it. The ads and lack of Smoola are irritating, but not deal breaking. The thing I'm disappointed and annoyed about is the sensitivity. Every song I play (it happens more frequently in the medium and hard difficulties) it doesn't register my taps. Without fail, this happens at least twice per song, at least 4 notes in a row. It throws off the rhythm, my score, and sounds awful. It's so infuriating! Please fix this!!

Lately I have been running into issues with a lot of notes throughout multiple songs not playing properly, I do have fun with the game but when I can't hear a note I just lose interested in the song. Other than that, great game. Decided to give this game a try 4 years since my last review, extremely laggy to the point that I can't enjoy the game since the sound from the notes is delayed and off tune from what you would expect from your tap, -1 star due to this issue persisting.

I've loved this app for a long time, but recently songs wont load at all, unless I've played them before. I'm connected to the internet, with a good connection. I cant play ANY new songs. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and there are correctly no new updates (so, my app is up to date.) I would appreciate any and all help in fixing this issue!

The app is fun, I used to play it all the time years ago. My problem is how greedy the system is for accessing songs now. There were tons of free songs you could access with ads, but now everything cost a minimum of 25 in game currency (each of which you only get 1 every time you level up). And even then you can't even buy the currency on its own, you have to buy a membership! It's not that I can't afford the membership, but it's a grimy money making tactic.

Hands down the best music-playing app. Easy to use, with the ability to create your own songs and contribute variations on musical pieces from classics to modern pop, this app goes above and beyond. It is even simple to learn actual piano techniques and music reading. Magic piano is vast in its musical scope and it attempts to do so much for one app, succeeding wonderfully.

I like this game, because I've played it before and I like rhythm games. But the gameplay's sensitivity is nauseatingly inconsistent. I try and tap the notes at the right time (which I DO) and somehow I end up apparently "mistapping" and losing my streak. I'm guessing some taps are delayed. Aiming for a full combo is near impossible this way. I want this to be fixed. This app is pretty enjoyable and I love the concept of being able to map your own songs (Composer).

Years ago, the notes traveled at a consistent pace, and would only speed up or slow down if the pace at which you played sped up or slowed down. This was an ideal system! That is no longer the case. EDIT: a year and a half later, as well as a report to Smule support, and nothing has changed. Any rests longer than a quarter note speeds the next note to you at maximum speed, forcing you to either play the song incorrectly or take a points penalty.

A classic game that I've played on and off for over a decade, but I wish they'd handle pricing differently. Smoola is super tedious to get, and I know that's the point to encourage people to get VIP, but nobody wants another subscription service. I'd much rather have a one time payment, even if it's the price of a AAA game. Given that this game still gets new songs and still has consistent players, I feel like if this was an option alongside subscribing, this would still be profitable.

I used to play this a lot, and at one point you used to get new songs every day for free, but I think at one point it turned to a new song every week..and now you hardly get anything at all.. there's hardly any way to progress unless you buy their subscription.. the amount of smula you have to get that's required to buy a song is astronomically high considered how many points you need to get to level up.. you run through every single song and you barely scratched the surface...
