The game itself is really fun. I got up to somewhere in the 80s for level but it started opening a spam page for a prize from amazon repeatedly. Even while I was watching ads so I am deleting it to prevent any issues from the spam page. That's too big a risk to rate the game higher.

While I enjoyed Cody Cross. This app is a blatant ad revenue game. DO NOT DOWNLOAD! Here are some reasons. 1.The puzzles are super easy even on the hardest difficulty. ADs after each level. 2. Energy system you only get 5 energy max and they take around 15 to 20 minutes to recharge EACH. So you won't really be playing. 3. No way to earn in game currency without either buying it or watching ads for a super small amount (you can earn 40) while upgrades start to cost thousands FAST. Greedy devs.

DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME!! I love CodyCross, but I can't even get into this game because you spend more time on ads than playing the game. (4) four energy for (4) four puzzles which may take (60) sixty seconds per puzzle, and then you watch a (30) thirty second video after each puzzle? I totally understand the ads system but WE NEED MORE ENERGY TO EVEN PLAY PLEASE 🙏 😫

I choose the ads at the end of each game for the extra coins and I have never minded ads because of the cost but no life after just 2 games is going too far. I love the original Cody Cross game and play it a lot but have decided as much fun as this one is it is just not worth having to pay or watch additional ads in order to stay alive.

graphics are great, puzzles not to hard, fun facts, but playing for decor for the rooms your playing is kinda cheesy. could do better on them, and shorter time for energy to restore. 15 mins for 1 energy bolt really sucks.other than that. this app is great. I recommend anybody to download and play. I'll give 5 star rating once something is changed to improve on energy and the decor for the rooms....

Edit, 2 days later, and gkitch seems to be fixed. Developers responded quickly. Very impressed! Thanks! Orig review: I enjoy the game, but want to make developer aware of a glitch I'm experiencing. Although I have enough coins to upgrade some letters, the amount I have, or cost or the letter is misrepresented because it says I don't have enough. Hope you can fix it, otherwise it's really fun. Thanks!

The word descriptions are ridiculous and word choice alone is incredibly random, and "word" isn't the right terminology because it sometimes is abbreviations and slang, or initials. It requires random knowledge of things relatively uncommon or you're left guessing at something you simply can't get. The idea is nice and all, I've always loved crossword puzzles, but the fact that the hints are just not properly sensible as well as words only being half of the game, it just ruins the concept.

Great gameplay, no mandatory ads, okay graphics. Problems are VERY LIMITED PLAYTIME (5 energy, very slow refill, Adwatch extension play). Does have letter value upgrades. So you have something to work for and unlocks to aspire to. Basically it's a CLOCK DELAY game with slow progression because insufficient gameplay unraveling exists. Got bored with long wait times, so I'm deleting the game.

Great word game with variable challenges. Cute character and informative trivia. Looks like the two word clues and token issues were fixed. :) There seems to be an issue with the "40 extra tokens" button. Videos play fine when waiting for next game to start but when attempting to get 40 extra tokens from pop up button, the screen goes black and game freezes. Resulting in no extra tokens.. :)

Fun and addicting game. Definitely worth the one time purchase to turn off ads. I love how difficulty scales. My only complaint currently is a bug I keep encountering and want to report. Every time I unlock an item for the level, the game stalls. spacegal is there cheering but the game won't proceed. I need to hard quit to move on. Hopefully a fix is already in the works!

Fun, but 2 things: you run out of energy WAY too fast. Even playing on hard mode, I run out after just a few minutes of playing. The other thing is that you don't get nearly enough coins to upgrade letters for as much as you use them. The energy is the biggest problem for me. 5 minutes of play, then just waiting for it to refill. Also, extremely laggy. Keeps freezing and making me exit.

This is a good word game, but the letter upgrades are horrendous. Not only does it force logarithmic progression, but they outright lie about the coins needed to upgrade a letter. To get a letter from level 3 to level 4, it says you need 70 coins, but that's a lie! It costs 170 coins to upgrade, then the next level says it costs 120 coins to upgrade!

I have CodyCross. Enjoyed it for a long time. But this app is unfortunately plagued with ads after every...single...puzzle. I wouldn't rate it one star for this except for the fact that there's a 50% chance that said ad won't load properly and will essentially crash your game. You'll still lose the "energy" or whatever when the game crashes, so you basically get screwed out out of a game. Nice going, devs.

Great concept, horrible execution. The actual gameplay is very fun, but it's locked behind the typical mobile game bs. Energy that slowly builds over time is needed to play, etc. And it forces you to use hints at certain points whether you need them or not, ruining the challenge of the game. If this was just the core gameplay with a few ads here and there, this would be worth playing. In it's current state, I uninstalled after less than a day.

Fun game, nice graphics. So far, the only problem I have found is that after a few puzzles, the game slows way down to the point of being unplayable. Perhaps it is my phone doing updates, not sure. Other apps run fine, though. I am going to give some more time and see how it goes. *Edit* after further gamplay, it seems to be fine now. It must have been an update in the background or lag on the internet. Upped to 5 stars.

I wanted to love this game. The premise is fun, and playing IS fun, if not a little too easy. However, the introduction of energy in this Cross game really ruins it. 5 puzzles barely takes a few minutes and then you're stuck waiting for energy forever. Very disappointed because I love other games from the maker. Also, doesn't want to load from the main menu anymore. All in all great potential but it's walled behind quick 5 minute bursts of play.

Too many ads, it gives you an ad, actually 2 ads half the time, before every game. It only gives you 4 'tokens' and each round costs a token so if your playing levels back to back you'll only get to play 4 levels before having to wait like an hour to regain 4 more tokens. The levels are easy and half of the questions on each level is abbreviations like "abreviation for the singer of ligma"

fun gameplay, nicer than most crosswords as all the letters needed are provided with no extras. however, game is extremely ad driven. i get one after every level or two. plus, the lives system seems to discourage prolonged play. not that the ads had any trouble doing that, of course. the character and whatever story is going on as well is not very interesting. i'd suggest giving actual gameplay tips instead of them all being about lore.

I played this July '23 and wondered why I gave it a 1 star. Looks like I got to the 4th level and got a mandatory ad. That is way too little to see if I want to play on a daily/weekly/monthly fee. It looks like a quality game but I'm not going to stick it out when there are many other alternatives out there with a more rewarding system on viewing ads.

After having played Codycross for a long time, I was pleased to see a new game. That pleasure, however, quickly became frustration when I discovered the "energy " system, which limits the number of times that the game can be played in a single sitting. 5 times and then a long wait. I would think that developers would want me to play a game, watching ads along the way, for as long as I want to play. This is a huge demotivator and disappointment and will probably result in me deleting the game
