More About Loop Habit Tracker

Loop helps you create and maintain good habits, allowing you to achieve your long-term goals. Detailed charts and statistics show you how your habits improved over time. The app is completely ad-free, open source and it respects your privacy.
Simple, beautiful and modern interface
Loop has a minimalistic interface that is very easy to use and follows the material design guidelines.

Habit score
In addition to showing your current streak, Loop has an advanced formula for calculating the strength of your habits. Every repetition makes your habit stronger, and every missed day makes it weaker. A few missed days after a long streak, however, will not completely destroy your entire progress, unlike other don't-break-the-chain apps.

Detailed graphs and statistics
Clearly see how your habits improved over time with detailed charts and statistics. Scroll back to see the complete history of your habits.

Flexible schedules
Supports not only daily habits, but also habits with more complex schedules, such as 3 times every week; one time every other week; or every other day.

Reminders
Create an individual reminder for each habit, at a chosen hour of the day. Easily check, dismiss or snooze your habit directly from the notification, without opening the app.

Widgets
Track your habits directly from your home screen, with beautiful and colorful widgets.

Completely ad-free and open source
There are absolutely no advertisements, annoying notifications or intrusive permissions in this app, and there will never be. The complete source code is available under an open-source license (GPLv3).

Works offline and respects your privacy
Loop doesn't require an Internet connection or online account registration. Your confidential habit data never leaves your phone. Neither the developers nor any third-parties have access to it.

Take your data with you
If you want to further analyze your data or move it to another service, Loop allows you to export it to spreadsheets (CSV) or to a database format (SQLite).

I am SO HAPPY with this app. I searched far and wide to find a free habit app and this one is perfect. It's better than any of the paid apps I tried out. All I need are reminders for different habits and a checklist whether or not I did them. I've been using this one for about 2 weeks and I'm finding it very efficient. I highly recommend! Easy to use. Not confusing, not complicated.

This app is actually PERFECT for what i was needing. A simple and easy to use tracker and super customizable for each habit. And it's free??? Please never change this lol. This was exactly what i was needing. All the other habit trackers I have tried were not formatted the way I wanted and did not show my progress in a manner that made sense. Definitely recommend this app if you're looking for a simple and customizable habit tracker that doesn't jip you on features just because they want $$

Love this app so much but the notifications are once again not sticky. The first time this happened was due to an Android update. The developers released an update for this shortly after and it has stopped working again. This so crucial to my use of the app as I often get side tracked and need the constant reminder until I finally complete the habit. Hoping they come up with another fix very soon.

The Monthly view Widget allows me to see on a home screen how I am doing this week, and past weeks. Placing two goals' Monthly view widgets side by side allows me see if one habit is helping out other habits. This VISUAL calender widget IS AN ESSENTIAL FEATURE and makes monitoring your success easy and inspires you to have a succesful day in all your goals. I had this app for 3 months until I realized I needed this monitoring function to SEE how I was doing. sure enough, it has the widget.

10 stars if I could! This is so simple, which why I like it better than others. You can set it to remind you, and you can put your own words in the reminder. Too much to describe here. Look at settings, especially if the order of days is confusing. I set mine to do reverse order so that the current day is on the far right.

This app is the perfect habit tracker! It's straightforward and does exactly what you need it to. Being able to review the last few months of data really helps show your progress. I love that I can group habits together with color. You can either track duration of a habit or check off if you've completed it. I absolutely love this app.

Free, open source, beautiful, easy to use. I love it. The only issue I've noticed is that when tracking numerical habits, the tracker doesn't work with cumulative goals over time. For example, if I set a goal to run 20 miles every week, it only counts the goal as fulfilled if I run 20 miles all in one day, once per week. This isn't how a lot of people's goals work, lol. I think it just needs to be ironed out by the developers, who I believe are still actively updating the app based on feedback.

Overall, it's a good app with nice features, but it has some kind of bug in the code that causes it to add up the hours wrong when I look at my monthly stats. I track my time in quarter hours (i.e., I enter .25, .5, etc.) for each day. But it gives me numbers like 39.8 or 31.3 for my my totals. It can get off by 3 or 4 hours by the end of the month. If it weren't for that, it would be 5 stars.

Just one small request: please make it so the days on the calendar turn the success color when a weekly goal is met! For my goals set to "xx minutes every week," the day only turns color if I do all the weeks minutes that day. It makes me sad to see the gray. I know I can see that I've technically met the goal above, but I'd love if it colored all the days that counted towards meeting the weekly goal. Otherwise, 10/10. This is so helpful and easy to use. The interface is clean and lovely.

There's a glitch in the matrix. On one of my new habits it has outlined check marks instead of the outline x. I've added others after that, but there's only one that has this issue. This morning there were two more empty checks and when I looked I found that the app is counting those as done and I haven't done anything yet. This app is notl longer accurate. It was great before, but not anymore.

I don't normally read reviews but I've tried several habit/routine/schedule type apps and this one is so simple and intelligent. I love that there is a skip and don't know option because I have habits that I don't necessarily have a specific schedule for that I don't want to count against me just because I didn't need to do any dishes on a particular day. It's also easy to customize and doesn't beg to send me notifications like other apps have.

God's gift to goal tracking apps. I've been through dozens of these and nothing else is as useable, reliable, and actually free. The tracker and graphs are easy to understand. Pretty colors and GREAT WIDGETS for the several times a day I open my phone and stare at the screen for three minutes, trying to remember why. My only requests would be to PLEASE have the whole checklist as a home screen widget and a way to create separate checklists. If I could, I would send the developers a cheesecake.

A simple and clean experience for people who want to keep track of their habits. The only thing I struggle with is when looking at my history for habits, no data entered and not completed look the same (greyed out). Other than that, this is perfect and the widgets are useful.

This is an amazing app for habit tracking: easy to set up and maintain. I've used it since 2019 and have never faced a technical issue or ad. The notification reminders are great! I wonder if collaborative features (shared habits between friends, like making 10 min/week to talk) will come. Excited to see what comes next! Thanks so much for making this app!!

It's good but I'm a little confused by the ux. When you set and get a reminder, and you click on the reminder notification, it simply takes you to an overview of your stats rather than a screen that you can record an update. I have to hit back to go to the home screen and record something. I might be missing something but if the reminder took me to a screen prompting me for an update for that habit for that day, that would make more sense to me

great app - reliably does what it's supposed to do, no pay walls or ads. the widgets and score feature are motivating.. if you're looking for a habit tracker that will support you and not annoy you this is it! I wish I could donate. as far as suggestions for additional features, it would be neat if there was an option for custom colors for habits :)

I need a simple habit tracker or I risk just never using it, Loop is juuuuuust right for that. Enough depth and customization to cover X per week or Y minutes per day, etc. I'll second another review, though, and request cumulative tasks highlighting periods of time where multiple days add up to a success. Great and free app though, thank you!

I use this to set reminders on my phone for habits I want to incorporate in my life. I usually have "Did you do this?" Question at a specific time of day of when I wanted to have the habit done. Ive added a few positive habits! One example is the reminders helped me remember to track my weight every morning (lost 15lbs in 6 months!, i record this in excel doc since its more flexible). Hoping to continue to add some more positive habits!

Phenomenal app. No bloat, no hassle, perfectly simple UI, easy customization. I have ADHD and rely on this for daily necessities like taking my meds. This app is better than any ADHD-focused app I've ever found. If I could improve just one thing, it'd be this: if the phone is off when a habit comes due (like if I miss a notification in the morning bc my phone is dead), restarting the phone doesn't pull up the notification. If this could be fixed, the app would be PERFECT.

I love this app. It's simple and quite flexible. The one gripe I have after a couple years of use is a small oversight with tracking exact goals. Measurable goals use "at least" and "at most," but this doesn't work if you're trying to do something close to a value. For example, I want to sleep 8 hours. I don't want at least or at most 8, I want 8. I could call this a "Yes/No" goal, but then the app isn't tracking the actual result. The issue could be applied to any goal that requires moderation.
