Been using Locus Map for many years and it is good except for route planning where it insists on following on a long route on a road instead of an a short cut path. Dev: How can I fix this pls? Update: Dev replied promptly and explained paths wrongly marked private on their base

The map works well, but the navigation is terrible, it does not rotate the screen, the view only works for walking, for bicycle this needs to rotate and zoom in to show how you are meant to ride.

Best map app that you can download, you have option to download your own maps and wall between free and paying is very well balanced. You can also find a lot of useful features that can help you on you walk. Wish we will se an 5th version in future with even more and still balanced for all.

I have given try to this new version of Locus. As Pro ower I have 1 year of Silver for free which is good for testing. Overall this version has slower response, map is drawn slower, menu items react slower. I use Locus for geocachig and this is considerably more complicated than in previous version. To perform actions one needs more clicks than in version 3. For opening cache listing you need to wait for 1-2 seconds while previous was immediate. Good thing is, old version still works in parallel

So far it's been ok, was easier to load maps unlike avenza..... however like one user here Elvis, I've been having the same issue of recording a track, and haveing it dump out on me, this also happened 2x yesterday while trying to navigate, good for 20-30 min then drops out, so we'll see what tech support says.

Locus Maps has redefined navigation with its outstanding Audio Coach feature, ensuring stay-awareness of my stats without constant screen checks. Additionally, its compatibility with Tasker and a developer-friendly API opens up endless customization possibilities, setting it apart as the ultimate navigation app. For an unparalleled and personalized experience, Locus Maps is a must-have. Highly recommended! I love locus :-)

Not looking forward to them derailing the app I already paid for once this ad hobbled subscription trap is complete. Luckily if that's the case I can use a number of others for my offline vector (openandromap) needs. Hopefully they keep the original up with security fixes for past paying customers. Most do the Adobe thing and make it useless in practice though not impossible in theory. If only dark mode wasn't withheld from the original. Would buy/use lomaps if updates were included. I want to

I've been using this app for years and it is an essential piece of kit when I am hiking in areas without service. This is not a fire and forget app, but rather a nicely designed interface for displaying maps and tracks that you download. Ie open street maps. Therefore, a little planning is required by the user to get setup ahead of time, but it is well worth it.

Undated to 2 stars since I apreciate that at least someone is adding some comments to my review I shouldn't have to contact you after most of the updates though. Crashing crashing crashing... Still usable I guess but it used to be an excellent app. With every update I notice how is becoming slower and slower. It gets very annoying to navigate the offline maps. Barely responding. Also now crashes every time at least once while recording a track, so I end up with gaps in recordings

locus, quit responding to whinos who complain about paying for subscription. this is a great app, unfairly down rated by whinos. subscription model allows for innovation and sustainable business model. i have used and paid for many map apps and locus is by far the best map app that i've used. i gladly pay the subscription for regular maintenance, support, innovation and keeping locus in business for many years to come. for me, this is a safety product. i feel so grateful for locus. thank you.

I'd rated it zero stars if I could. User interface is completely unusable, it took me about half an hour just to figure out how to import into it a TCX route but I was not able to find a way to actually navigate it and download required maps for this route for offline use. I'm sure this functionality is present somewhere - somewhere among million of options and switches in completely obscure and unexpected places. Unfortunately, having functionality is not enough - app should have usability as well, something the authors of this app apparently never even heard of. I though that this app may be an alternative to the apps like Ride With GPS and Komoot - yeah, sure - not even close.

In my opinion this is the most powerful navigation app I've seen, and I've tried more than most people. It's a little cumbersome to use because it has so many functions, but it's been the most reliable and versitile option I've found for my motorcycle navigation. I've seen a lot of hate for the subscription model, but I'm happy to pay it to continue development of the app. Hopefully the web portal catches up with the app functionality to make it a single solution for planning and navigating.

Locus used to be a great app that was easily useful offline and with a very useful Pro version. I enjoyed supporting a developer who did not nickel and dime their users. This developer switched to a subscription model and did not carry over existing subscriptions. Instead of a one-time payment, it now requires an ongoing cost. The old version works perfectly well and I recommend you use that instead. Subscription models work for some applications, but this is an offline hiking app.

Ive been trying to use this app to navigate between two GPS points without success, for a long time! It regularly prompts me to download additional data to be able to use the navigation feature, of course agreeing to download said data changes nothing, the prompt reappears each time. I have not once successfully used it. This should be so much simpler and easier!

It's turned my old Sonim XP 7700 rugged smartphone into the GPS I've always wanted. Once I subscribed and got past the learning curve I couldn't be happier. It is wonderful being able to customize the screen to suit my specific use. I also really like being able to repurpose my old device. I just renewed my subscription for the 2nd year. Very happy customer.

I've been using Pro for years and just switched to Locus Maps 4 Gold Subscription. The price is definitely a little high, but I'm impressed so far and I do like to support outdoors app development. The website is nice. Synchronization of tracks is great. I'm still trying to figure out the offline LoRouter. It does seem to work offline, but I'm not sure what areas I have downloaded. That part is a little confusing.

The old version was A LOT better. The UI was more intuitive and the pricing model was reasonable. The behavior of the menu is outright annoying. They're charging more for a lesser quality product. Users never want the GUI randomized. Never. The classic navigation was easier for new and experienced users. Version 4 was designed by an expert for an expert. Ambiguous icons without labels are guessing game. It was not made with a new user in mind and it makes supporting users extremely difficult.

Very full-featured navigation and map software that has a lot of options even in the free version. I was primarily interested in the track recording ability of this app. There it is a little disappointing. It is able to record tracks, and you can set up different profiles for different activities so that you get accurate tracks. Lots of stats on the tracks recorded. But the UI is unnecessarily complicated, and you can only add way points as the track is being recorded, not add way points to an existing track. There is also no ability to find details of specific points on the track (distance from beginning or end, time visited, coordinates, etc.)

I've used most every GPS/mapping program out there and can easily say this is my favorite. The ability to import maps, tracks and POIs is excellent! Love being able to add a POI with a key press and love being able to make a photo POI easily! If you don't love this program, you haven't spent enough time using its many features.

An excellent navigation app for both on and off the road. I tried it out, taking my motorcyle on a 462 mile route that I imported from GPX file created by another app. It had hundreds of waypoints and thousands of location points spanning the entire length of New Jersey. Both on-road and off-road section showed up as well as showing hiking trails along the way. Great for overland adventures.
