Excellent.... is really a great supplement to turn to on a daily basis before or after your primary course. It's fun and effective. I've only had slight problem understanding some of the tones which are really.. really similar in real life anyway... let alone on a simulated voice. All in all... however, I'm having fun with it and it helps when you're new like me.

it starts out great. As you go along it stops teaching and just throws things at you. But it is also written by many different people with no one checking for consistency so it defines the same word differently within the lesson and marks you wrong for answering with the word you were taught. I'm only halfway through. if it gets any worse it won't be worth the trouble.

I was enjoying this app because it taught me a lot, and included immersion, all for free. But now they've overhauled it and made it the same as any other app, I lost all my progress and now charge for the rest of the features. FYI, if I could pay for courses, I would be attending them, not using an app, and while I believe in supporting good resources, the mandatory change is not appreciated, especially after LingoDeer did the same thing. Goodbye, there are other apps to use.

Wow! Very impressed by this totally free learning app. It's well-structured, easy to navigate, and quite intuitive. The graphics are fun and cute and attractive to even my 4 year old son, making him want to learn along with me! Because of the simple and easily navigated design, it loads quickly and easily and it downloads the lessons only when you go to use them, leaving your hard drive free of unnecessary content until you're actually ready to use it. Would definitely recommend this app to anyone beginning to learn Mandarin Chinese! And I'm looking forward to sharing in this learning experience with him! 👦👩💓

I really liked this app. I used it often for grammar/tone games, which were both useful & fun. I especially loved speaking practice (w/ feedback!) each lesson. However, this new LingoDeer version doesn't have the old speaking practice or a revamped version, just straight copypasta of LD's stories. Also, my xp got wiped and progress didn't match after update. Playing games doesn't get xp anymore either, and resets daily xp. TBH Kept just for games but eventually stopped using altogether. 3/15/19

I've tried many language learning apps, and this is my favorite tool for learning Mandarin. It teaches useful words and sentences, and introduces new words at an excellent pace. I love that it's not too repetitive and I always feel like I'm progressing. You can practice listening, reading, a little writing, and practice pronunciation with the graded speaking practice. I recommend this to all new learners.

[10/28/17] Excellent. Has everything. Very easy to use on a daily basis. Has tons of extra little games to build up all of your skills. [8/22/20] I'm using the app again after a long hiatus, and the updates have made it even better. You can review grammar and vocabulary separately, they have live speakers, full conversations to demonstrate, detailed explanations of grammar and pronunciation (which was already there, but is more thorough now), etc. Again, fantastic app. Thank you!

This is the first language app where I don't lose interest after a few lessons. It just makes me want to go on and on learning. I like how systematic it is. The path to progression is not confusing (unlike some other apps where everything is on different pages, links and sub-links), here the layout lets one see what is what and how to get there. Great! On a different note, how does the developer make money? There are no ads, as far as I can see. In any case I am seriously thinking of purchasing a yearly subscription. It's a great App to have, and it's an excellent complement to my daily Domino Chinese lessons, and worth paying for it.

I've had this app for a couple years and it was good when I got it, but over the years they have updated a lot and it's even better than before. They provide multiple ways of learning and practicing the words through visuals, audio, typing, and more while mixing up ways to produce or translate vocab and put it into context. You learn vocab, grammar and syntax and more for written and spoken Chinese. And it's cute. :) As a teacher of language, I am especially impressed and recommend this app!

Its AMAZING! 很棒! The voice is clear. The personalization is great. The pictures with animation helps with memorization. The variety of way to learn is so fun and engaging. This is before purchasing the subscription. The subscription is affordable in comparison to others and I think it's worth the investment to use all that is offered through chinese panda. My interest is rekindled, I'm excited and I will be buying soon.

Started learning with the kids at school when the Mandarin teacher came to teach them, and became genuinely interested in learning with my students. Taking it a step further to work on my own, this app is so awesome! Honestly came to work today after just starting this app and the teacher was shocked I was able to know it before she taught the Littles. Super fun, easy, and helpful app! Truly loving it so far!

This app is amazing with all of its resources and practice for Chinese. My only complaint is that it's impossible to test out of units/lessons I've already learned; they don't appear as completed I only get passed further down the tree. If there were a way to test out of skills that marked them as complete that would be much better.

Good app! but 1.I had it when I first came to China 4 years ago and it's been developed extensively. I recently tried it again to review some basics and have found they switched to google play servers. Unfortunately VPN use is hit or miss with pictures and audio not losing leaving me unable to pass stages. Unless hosting services are changed I can only recommend this to people who aren't currently in China. 2. Missing some old paid content from years ago that is nowhere to be found (immersions)

Reinforces everything. Practices speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and at a pace appropriate for those who find learning new languages almost impossible. It makes it all so easy, and makes me feel successful. I've tried many language programs, but this one is by far the best and really understands the learner's needs.

Chineseskills is a challenging language to learn, but durable. It's a really fun language to learn. you'll be learning all the does and don't of the language (it's well written), since it's a tonal language, you'll be speaking it from the back of your throat to get a tone/sound close enough to sound like a Chinese person/(han guo ren). Staying functional is a must, if your not reading a book, then learning a language is quite a rewarding way to get more out of your time:)

I enjoy the app. It is so far my favorite mandarin learning app. Occasionally, the spoked mandarin will be screechy through my phone. This, it is difficult to tell certain sounds apart. However, I believe that is a phone error... Not an app error. Word to the wise, if you're phone doesn't handle loud volumes turn it down before listening.

I just got through the first level and so far I love it! It helps with writing, reading, speaking, and listening in Chinese. I like that I can speed through when I want, or I can slow down and repeat things as many times as I like during the level. The app is very straight forward in it's way of teaching. I also like that for the writing part it shows you the proper stroke order of each character, which is very important in Chinese. However, if you are only trying to learn to speak and understand spoken Chinese you can fly through this part and only take a few seconds to write each character. It is good all around for any Chinese language learner... although I am a beginner, so I can't say how it is for advanced speakers yet.

I would definitely reccomend this app to anyone beginning to learn Chinese. Especially with the new speaking practices at the end of each lessons, games, and phrase book, this app really is incredibly useful and free source for anyone looking to understand the basics of Chinese. 谢谢你 I would make it 5 stars but lately I've been having problems with the games. Specifically the vocab builder causes the app to crash and pinyin and tone practices have no sound (which pretty much defeats the purpose)

Amazing!! I've only been learning for a few days and I can make a number of sentences! This app has many different ways for you to memorize and learn. What what I appreciate the most is the real people speaking, it gives you chances to test your hearing, you can listen to it how ever many times you want! (in the level). It makes me feel so good to understand a normal speed from different voices!

This app is really great! English is my first language, so I have had difficulty with learning Mandarin in the past, especially with flash card apps. However, with this app I have been pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to learn! I like the pictures with the words under them, that's easy to understand. My only complaint is with the little videos, the people speak too fast and even when you slow it down it sounds very different than when you click on the character. But still a great app!
