Forever opening in French. Unable to choose English option though I am a Paid Subscriber. I will uninstall.

Smooth, clear, functional and complete- the links to relevant articles are cleverly selected, the layout is elegant, the photos are usually excellent and work well on the app - well worth the subscription costs as the real quality of Le Monde is in these detailed reports.

i studied french at school for 5 years. since i'm not in school anymore, i got out of touch with the language, which is a pity. i will download this app in order to try to stay connected with the language so that i don't forget what i've learned - and i'm certain i will be able to further expand my vocabulary by reading daily news as well. thank you !

I've subscribed to the English version but once logged in to the app, I've got no access to the articles in English. When I subscribed I didn't see anything mentioning that the app will not be available, this is highly misleading. Merci

Amazing app ! Some of the newest articles with the animations and the videos are just stunningly beautiful! Well done ! Interactive graphs are really well designed as well. My favourite international newspaper app ! ( and I live in London !!! ) 👏

Vive la France! Permanently updated News Feed from France and Worldwide with in depth analysis and some investigative, high quality journalism. Just reading the stories headlines every morning for the moment and the free version alone is pretty good. I would happily subscribe if it wasn't for my lack of time to read large articles. There is also a great readers contribution page, always polite but well worth a look!

Nice app (also La Mattinale) which I have used every day for ages. However, I am a PAID SUBSCRIBER and Le Monde has started charging me twice. Contacting them is close to impossible, but when I finally managed it they gave me the run around, asking for details of the overpayments (which they should have), then asking for .pdfs of my bank statements showing the (several) overpayments, and then... Well, it's still going on, which is a massive waste of time. For approximately €13 a month, the app is good value, but be warned - their customer service is the pits and should a problem ever arise, there's no one authorised to do anything but give you the brush off. Good job guys - for the want of a few minutes care, you've lost a subscriber worth €150 a year and earned yourself a poor review.

I could not read any article as my subscription was never shown as active on Le Monde app and website. I tried to ask for help Google and the app service provider, but the issue could not be fixed. I am very sorry to resign but I don't won't to lose more money! Please try to be more helpful and consider customers' issues individually instead of copying and paste instructions that I could check by myself.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!! Do not be taken in by the offer of 8 weeks free followed by a £15 monthly payment - i tried to subscribe but whenever i try to log in it says 'non abonné' although it will not let me subscribe again. I have emailed Le Monde customer service twice with no response and now they are taking the monthly payment. I am furious!! Apparently to cancel i have to send a form by registered post to France! The paper ia excellent but this is just a rip-off.

Don't worry, the new version has the French and English versions of Le Monde. You can switch versions in settings. I hesitated to install the new version because the description made it sound like an English-only app, and I read the French version. Fortunately, the new "Le Monde, Live News" app lets you choose your preferred language

In my opinion, this app has everything to make the mornings enjoyable, the UI design is smooth and clear and if we take the app by itself without the (Sub) version it's pretty complete it has a high quality journalism and when you pay for the more it provides you a really good content in what comes with journalism, definitely I shifted from other UK news app du their poor design.

The Website itself is fine. It's their payment method that is almost close to FRAUDULENT. I have had a paid subscription on their site for years. But suddenly the Google Play pay option showed up. When I clicked on it, unbeknown to be, I started getting charged both on the Le Monde site and the Google Site. I have tried to resolve this with Le Monde to no avail, even with receipts. One service, double the pay.The website still says my subscription is not active. I have cancelled all my service

Quite good to brush up on your French if you are a mid A2 level, but it is very expensive and I am not sure I can justify the cost especially with cheaper and free options, consider that for 17 euros I can buy a real book and keep it in a collection, I can get a good meal for lunch or dinner, I can buy a French textbook and many other things. I can read news on other sites for free which really makes this method of getting information obsolete especially since there are ads.

Used to be a free news application, but switched to commercial fully, almost every article became "subscribe to read till the end". Not discussing the articles themselves, even though "le Monde" name is no guarantee, and I do understand you need to survive by making some money. But very honestly, this amount of money for just an app with all its limitations, sorry but this is a total rip off.

While Le Monde is politically aligned to the left concerning editorial opinion, it’s fairly moderate & most of the news articles are geared toward being factual as opposed to using the news to spin narratives. This makes it my top International news outlet, and it has an English language edition. The only problem being is the app doesn’t support the English language edition. Hopefully, that will be rectified so I don’t need to use a workaround bookmark on the Home Screen.

2 starts because even though I know how much I love that journal and those news... It's too expensive for me and the free version doesn't allow anything. Once upon a time, press was free access... I have to uninstall

It is important to have other perspectives on world occurrences. Reading those perspectives in their original language is even more enlightening.

Lots of bugs, for instance several times it says i have no subscription. And no easy way to contact their staff for a fix. Will not renew subscription.

Some articles include pictures. When clicked, a high-res zoomed in version pops up. Unfortunately you cannot scroll and see the complete picture (basically you can only see the central part).
