More About Lapse: A Forgotten Future

Lead an entire nation to salvation – or destruction – in a post-apocalyptic world set beyond the year 2075. With a simple swipe of your finger, left or right, you’ll be able to decide of this Nation’s destiny, taking hard decisions about different quests and problems, that will be brought to your presidential attention. Be careful though: leading has never been easy and it will be even more challenging in a similar world. Something mysterious has thrown the whole future humanity in a deep confusion, causing a continuous stream of events as wars, illness, famine. No one seems to recall what started this all, no one seems to know anything about the odd events that keeps involving the planet, no one can explain why you seem to rise every time someone tries to keep you down.
So be careful, and think long and hard each and every decision, because nothing happens by chance. Every single event might help you reach your final victory, but at the same time it could be the reason of your failure. Who will be your friend, and who will be your enemy? Hard to say in such a complex world filled with betrayals, aliens, bionic beings and ancient myths. What’s done is done, and you can just play your cards as well as you can in this inevitable race against time.

In-App Purchases:
The game is completely for free.
You can reach each and every ending without buying anything. Any purchase will be optional and, besides helping you a little bit along the game, will be a sort of donation for me.

FAQs and suggestions:
• How can you play? Press on the card and swipe it slowly left or right, so you can read the two possible options. Decide what choice you want to make, minding the four statistics. Keep in mind: every choice you make will have future consequences.
• Do I have to get to a certain year to end the game? No, you can reach an ending in any time! You just need to make the right choices and have a little bit of luck.

It's a pretty good story, but it is agonizingly slow. If you mess up the choices needed to unlock a particular ending, it will take hours of repetitive swiping and five second ads to get back to that point. My unsolicited suggestion is that once you've cleared a certain percentage of the story goals, you could be able to restart the game from the year 2100.

A wonderful concoction of strategy, luck, and quick thinking that's sure to make you want to keep trying to lead your crumbling country into a new age. This game is simple—you're given a choice by a character to, for example, increase military funding or withhold the money for other uses. The effects that follow are dependent on what all happens in the next turns... it's all about risk. Overall, for the short time I've played, the replayability is MASSIVE. The little subplots and stories are wonderful, and will come back and bite you in the ass if you're not careful!

I'm surprised that I was able to find a game that would help me kill time, yet have fun. Lately, it's been hard to find a good mobile game without overwhelming in-game purchases, advertisements, or lack of content. With a very well thought out and directed story, I was able to play the game for hours on end, interested in not only finishing the game, but to be able to improve the length of my survival. The game is short enough where I don't lose my interest by playing for weeks in order to reach a single ending. I would say there is about three days worth of content. Because I am a perfectionist, I played the story over and over trying to complete every storyline quest. But I'm still having trouble reaching a couple of them. I'm not sure if it is bevause when you start a New Game+ you don't completely start from scratch, so my prior choices with certain encounters may have locked me out of completing the game. (Queen of the South quests specifically). Despite the game having been released for over a year, surprisingly thrte is not a strong wiki guide or anything like that to fall back on. However, due to the straightforward nature of the game, a guide isn't really necessary.

I have been a fan of Lapse ever since I first wore out my voice reading the cards off to my friends on the bus four years ago, and I have to say it has only improved since then. With beautiful, simplistic art, intuitive controls, and an incredible storyline brought out in an easy-to-narrate style, Lapse goes down in my books among the best mobile games of all time.

This game is so fun! It's simple and intuitive, and just frustrating enough to keep me trying again and again. Ads only pop up when you lose, and can be closed after five seconds. Optional ad opportunities are occasionally presented in exchange for a very helpful powerup. Graphics are good, gameplay is smooth, the lore is fascinating. Played for a couple of hours and haven't found any glitches yet. Highly recommended.

I really loved this game. I enjoyed playing over and over again. It was so interesting. I'm now starting on the 2nd game. The ads were a bit annoying and it felt like repetitive cards but it actually changes, plus at times I got a bit frustrated with the keeping the 4 systems in balance. This is a free to play game without paying. Can't wait to see what happens in the 2nd one! Have a wonderful day

definitely inspired by the card game reign. However, it doesn't feel like a half a**ed attempt and it actually has a decent story and a bit of a plot twist. As well as mystery in the game surrounding the main character you play is which you are the president of the US. i had an enjoyable time on picking cards and finding out new endings in the game. it doesn't do anything different from reign but hits all the right places for people who are a fan of these kind of games.

Great idea, pretty well executed. The game is challenging and complex enough to be fun to repeat, and is actually designed with three different endings to accomplish. Even beyond trying to accomplish all three endings, the randomness of the cards and how decisions affect larger gameplay mean you're not playing the same game twice. Some of the verbiage could be a little clearer, as it is sometimes hard to tell the difference between two options, but overall the gameplay is addictive. The graphics are simple, but clean, smooth, and professional looking. It has ads, but, not too many, and, it gives you rewards for watching some optional ads. If you really don't like ads, you can pay a small amount to get rid of them entirely.

It's a fresh idea of a game for me. Obviously a lot of thought and care has been put into the creative story which pulls you in for more and the easy going, but still interactive enough gameplay. The design is clean and easy to look at and the strategy aspect is just the amount of thinking I look for in a game: relaxed enough after a day at work, but intriguing enough to keep me engaged. Would love to see more like this.

Edit: Fun game, even if it is frustrating sometimes. I picked it up again recently after having deleted it a couple years ago and it's growing on me this time. Just get used to dying! OP:The effects of the decisions you make don't make much sense. Luckily it gives you a hint about which resources will be affected by your decision, but often a resource is negatively affected when you expect the opposite. I suppose some people think it's pleasantly challenging but I find it extremely frustrating.

It feels like a game you would buy on steam for 15$, except it's free. It has the most depth out of any mobile game I've ever played. I highly recommend if you liked the dictator games or are big into text adventures and sci-fi. A note to the developer: I think if you have a strong military (65%ish or greater) you should be able to hold off civilian attacks as seen in history, a revolution isn't successful unless the military allows it to happen. The fox should be replaced with this mechanic.

I think that the game is repetitive after a bit, but the storylines are what make the game interesting. You roleplay as a president and are trying to maintain the best country while dealing with scientific catastrophes, war, disease, and other secrets that keep you playing!! Overall it's got simple gameplay, however great story and plotline

It's a fun, quick-paced game where every decision you make as President impacts the balance between the environment, your popularity, the military, and the budget. Often, you have to fight your own instincts beliefs in order to maintain the balance. I'm not sure if there's an end game and the objective seems to be good long you can stay in power before being overthrown (or worse!).

I'd give more stars but i have a slight problem with the game itself. It's way to easy to die, or rather lose. Once you get so far, two choices could absolutely ruin your play. And the ammount of time it takes to build up your four cores, just doesnt do it for me. If the ammount gained was bigger and the ammount lost was smaller. It'd be better. Or the best in my opinion. But don't take my opinion to heart. It's still a fun game at its core.

Great game. Simplistic design mixed with a great story. The game disguises itself as another mind-numbing, boring time waster, but is actually a deep, and elaborate choose-your-story game that gets interesting once you hit the first turning point of the story. However, it takes a monumental amount of dedication to wait until you get to that point, which is the only reason I didn't give this game a 5/5.

A well-done game. At first it's a simple balancing act, but as you play further, you realize it's much more, and you'll discover subplots and an underlying, fascinating plot running below it all. (The foreshadowing is excellent.) I love the characters. Right amount of ads, and I like the Creator self-insert. My only caveat is that the replayability is a bit tedious after you achieve one of the endings, since you'll have to start the game over. If you don't mind that, I'd recommend it.

I think that it's a simple game with simple mechanics. A good time waster that teaches you strategy. While it's somewhat repetitive, yhe repitition is broken up by sudden events which builds on the tension. If you suck at the game(like me) progression is slow and tedious. But if you're good, the plot will progress forward, and by golly is there a lot of plot.

Great game tbh the only mobile game I've ever played that made me feel like a friend was asking me to watch an ad in return for a small gift rather than being berated by them every 5 seconds which is rare which I appreciate and Im happy to support. It's simple but imersive and original very happy I decided to check it out. only thing is sometimes just seems like the things that happen contradict the decisions you've made but it's not a huge deal. Definitely recommend!

That such a simple idea can support this much gameplay is impressive. Easy to understand from the get-go, you can happily stumble through a number of initial games, only to find a story-driven element that brings it to a new level. A fantastic gameplay structure, clear visual style, and clever writing make this game an easy recommendation.

Great game, it starts out as just a decision making simulator but the more you play the more you realize there is an underlying story with a great plot. Plenty of endings and achievements to unlock. Two gripes though: it's sorta finicky with its Google Play Games syncing, and it's hard to actually get into until you start to learn the game mechanics.
