I love Kickstarter, and the app is OK - rating it at 3 stars only due to a few issues - QoL stuff mainly. First off, I can't zoom in on any of the update photos in a campaign. This kind of sucks, especially since the website forces me to the app. I also can't find a way to leave a comment in the chat/comments sections...no chatting with folks about the campaign apparently. Can't refresh most pages either, and the app doesn't seem to automatically refresh content. Otherwise, great app.

Ideal! Finally, everything seems to be functioning properly. Videos play full screen and the progress bar hides. Can back within the app without getting routed to a browser. Not sure how long it's been since those issues were fixed, I just know I've encountered those issues. Now my only request would be Sections on the campaign page to help jump to rewards and stretch goals, etc. in large campaigns that take forever to scroll through.

Would love to see the large bugs in this app fixed. Components that don't work in my app version: Viewing Activity (blank), unable to save favorite projects (doesn't respond), messages (blank), and unable to back projects (!! It claims my card can't be processed). The app is only useful for browsing. I have to log into the browser version to do anything useful.

The app is fine. Nothing flashy, which isn't a bad thing, and for the most part it gets things done. However, often it will have trouble loading the campaigns and I have to back out and go back in multiple times. Also, I haven't received a push notification in idk how long, even though everything's allowed in permissions. If they'd make the app more reliable and fix notifications, I'd give it 5 stars

The service provided by Kickstarter is amazing. This rating pertains to the application quality. The app is responsive but the routing is deep and slow. The "add to saved" heart button is broken half the time. I cannot even view the Activity page more than half the time. However view a campaign is seemless. A way to zoom in on images and full screen videos would make the app 3 star easily.

The app is definitely easier to navigate on a smart device than the website. It would be great for the messaging functionality to be included: it's a pain to message developers. (You have to access the website version of the project, and make sure your phone doesn't route the link back to the KS app. It's doable, but could be much easier.)

The video playback is no longer working as of the most recent update 1.14.1 (May 1, 2019) on my device (Samsung Galaxy Note8) I've tried troubleshooting the issue, uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. Will be waiting for the next update to get the ability to play embedded videos. Until then, 2 stars. Please fix the issue! Otherwise nice app, fairly easy to navigate and use otherwise.

The app just fails 7/10 times, a few examples: the activity section will be blank 9/10 times you go to check on your projects, your profile section will also be blank most of the time you go to check on anything. In that same section clicking on any of those backed projects will not lead you to their page, because it's not a click able option its just a picture. The app crashes constantly and rarely does it function as it should, but when it does function it's great.

I used to use the iOS version of this app and it was super easy to navigate. The Android version is horrendous. There's no icon for followed projects, it's hard to find backed projects and I had to go to the desktop website to modify my payment for a project. I have backed 63 projects so far, I'm used to it being a very easy to navigate app but now that I've switched to Android it's horrible. Changes really should be made to make navigation on the Android app more intuitive.

Very good experience! I'm not sure if I'm describing the app or the service itself. I have been using Kickstarter for a few years now and for the most part all campaign items that I've backed have been completed and arrived to me. As for the quality of the items that's another story. The app experience isn't quite as robust or smooth as the website, but it does the job. I wish the search engine in the app was smarter, searching for specific genre of items should be smoother. I recommend!

Very frustrating. Seemingly obvious functionality is completely missing, or at least, I can't find it anywhere. Hey, there's a nifty notification of a project update...except the ONLY link is to the update. No way to get to the campain page from there! Comments are just vomited onto the screen --sometimes I can scroll past 20, sometimes not. I could go on, but I'm almost out of characters. 3 stars because what functionality is included works correctly.

For the most part it's a great app, especially if you are just browsing. But for purchasing it doesnt show you the full detail and pictures of the item the way the regular website does. So you cant see the different colors or extra parts or accessories that the product might come with depending on what price you want. If that gets fixed....then I would give it 5 stars instead of 4.

I'd like to like it, but the UI is not that good. It's honestly easier to just use the mobile website. Clicking search doesn't automatically open your keyboard and let you type instead you have to tap it again. There's a lot of extra clicks to view all the data needed in a campaign. A slide left and right would work better than tapping multiple menus.

The app used to work fantastically, did for years, but a few weeks ago, the majority of the functions completely stopped. I'm unable to save campaigns for later/be reminded 48 hours before they end, I can't look at my own profile page anymore to see what I've backed or current statuses, it shows I have zero messages (which I know is false). I don't know what happened, but the app used to be PERFECT, and now, it's pointless. As a superbacker with over 200+ campaigns basked, this SUCKS. HELP!!

The app is really underwhelming. The search/sorting functionality is pretty poor. If you launch the app from an outside source, say an email link, the app will only let you back arrow as far as that project; you can't actually get back to the home screen without closing the app. Managing multiple projects is cumbersome and the Update stream is kind of a hot mess. The Campaign page takes forever to load and stays grayed out the entire time. In the end, it's functional but far from optimized.

This app is terrible. It wasn't so bad until after the recent update, in December 2019. Now it sucks. It loads campaign details very slowly. Comments are not properly sequenced. The user interface isn't very intuitive. This app leaves lots of room for improvement. I wish there was an alternative for Android. Until this improves, I'll go back to using the full site on a real computer. Who really needs Kickstarter on the go anyway?

As an an app for the site if the you have funded anything it is useless. Nothing works, functionality and user friendly are not terms that have been used in the design stages for this. As a way to randomly see what projects there are, it's fine. No search function but the filter is excellent. However, it took many attempts to get my profile to link at all and by which it was pointless as nothing saved syncs. Ultimately, the app has seemingly had little effort put in and shows little improvement.

Excellent platform. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is that the navigation is sometimes unintuitive. Pressing back should, in my mind, go to where you just were or to the main feed. Instead, it seems mostly to exit the app. I understand that campaign pages use tabs, but having that be the primary mode of getting around is counter to how every other app works, so I can't (and don't want to) stop using the back button.

"back" navigation is terrible and often leaves the app unexpectedly. The bottom of the "stack" should always be the home screen, even if that's not how the app was opened (notification, link, etc.). Also, I don't want dark mode just because my phone's setting is dark mode. Most campaign pages are not suited for dark mode. Please make a setting to choose a theme and ignore the system setting.

I've enjoyed Kickstarter for a long time, but the app is only so-so. Push notifications have never worked, uninstall-reinstall included. It's never felt straightforward to see the status of the projects I've backed or keep track of them. Search also doesn't seem to turn up what I'm looking for at the top of the list, even if I search for the exact name. Given the importance of exposure on the platform, I'm guessing they select result order as a combination of search match and desired hype.
