Once a device is installed in a room, no other rooms can be added. The app always takes you back to the original room and will not allow additional devices. The app also has a very poor ability to connect to wifi, even though the phone is 5 feet from the router, receiving 185 Mbs. @ 2.4 ghz. I have Kaza switches as well, and so far, over the last year, I have been unable to connect them to the app. Customer service is FAQ only and totally useless.

I have been very impressed with this app and I legitimately plan on buying more TP Link products just because it is so clean, beautiful, easy to use, and reliable. Well done devs. My only complaint recently was that it was a pain to download recordings from my doorbell, but not long after they added a feature to download video snippets to your phone, very solid app.

As this was gifted to me I didn't research its competition as I usually would. But as far as these units go, they have worked flawlessly and or super simple to set up. I also greatly appreciate the fact that these are one of the few Wi-Fi items I utilize that don't come with a ongoing service fee!

March 2024 update requires accepting new predatory terms of service. It holds you hostage and won't allow you to get to your devices until you accept. Do not update to this version or later. I'm going to move all my tp-link devices to Home Automation server if possible. Tp-link, if you do this to my wireless routers, I will just open source them too.

Much better connectivity than Feit. I had so much problems and frustration with trying to connect with the Feit bulbs over wifi, must be 2.4 GHz. Kasa is great immediate connection. The menu was a bit confusing but I got to the schedule time so I can set my lights to turn on/off as needed. Took off 1 star for the confusing menu.

I used to love this app. But when I put it on my new samsung galaxy twenty four, it will not turn on with the smart switch . I have made certain that the on command was first I have made certain it was second. It doesn't matter what I do. It will not turn on. It will turn off fine on the time set, but it will not turn on for the time set. It's very irritating cause I wanted to use a light to help wake me up in the mornings

Horrible app. Slow response times. It will give you notifications for people when the wind moves a tree or a car goes by, and half of the time not giving one when there's a person right in front of the camera. It's so difficult to get clips off of the camera, and the organization for the 24/7 SD card recording is basically non existent. *** Problem has gotten worse. Don't get these cameras. 5/21/2024

I couldn't get these lights to operate. The app said it needed to be closer to a stronger signal. Additionally I learned Bluetooth apps are vulnerable to hacking, and makes it easier to access your system, so gave up trying to install them. It was too late to return them I guess I'll have to recycle them somehow if that's possible.

For the most part works. The notifications are annoying, you click on them and it doesn't take you to the event that triggered it. The other thing is I would like to be notified but silently, during the hours of the morning I will get notified every 2 or 3 minutes. I only want to hear a sound if I'm notified after 9:00 at night and before 6:00 in the morning. It occasionally loses track of the device and fails to notify. It will tell me that the camera is no longer associated with the account.

RE: Latest update (March 2024): The latest terms of service update is highly intrusive. If you don't accept the TOS, you will not be able to use the app. This makes all devices associated with app useless. While I understand the need for software/hardware updates, the use of personal information should not hold you hostage. There is no option to opt out. Agree to the TOS or lose use of your device(s).

Out of all the features available through this app, you couldn't add the ability to simply name the plugs when listed on the Devices screen so I can more easily know which is which and what each button goes to? It's a simple orgabization feature anyone coukd think of, but yet we have bloated the app with "scenes" and severak tabs that I won't be using becaude I have onky bought plugs. Major oversight.

its so much trouble to have to scroll through all the captured video to see a clip from a specific time. the video player for reviewing 24h footage needs a lot of improvement. scrubbing through it is very difficult, i can never scrub to the minute i want to bc its impossible to scrub slowly. its like the progress bar is slippery. a skip forward/backward option and a speed option would make it so much less annoying to go through every day

I run 3 apps for various cameras. This one is the worst! It drops my cameras often and I have to go through a long process to reconnect them, once I do, I usually have to reset the camera which then loses my clip history. For security, this makes the cameras a liability as I can not rely on them to capture or record important events. It's too bad, because it shouldn't be difficult to keep a wifi camera available through the internet.

(using cameras ec-60) If you're gonna force us to use the app and not have web browser access, how about adding a cast button (so we're not always forced to use Google voice commands) and allow app to run minimized (with mini screen) so we can multi-task. I get dozens of security notifications from Xfinity about the camera. Constant and annoying "continue watching" prompts.

The hardware is great, but the software got a downgrade. Please bring back the ability to save the current status of all lights as a scene. Scene creation is so tedious without this functionality! I shouldn't have to remember my settings and manually enter them into each bulb. It's much smoother to fiddle with the lights live, and save that configuration as a scene once I'm happy.

I don't know what was recently optimized nor what bugs were fixed but I just installed three switches and we're loving it. The perimeter lights gradually come on at sunset and gradually go off at sunrise automatically. The pool area now gets just the right amount of light for the desired ambiance as is the case in the living room. Five stars!!

Kasa app stopped working on both my android and apple apps. They worked fine previously. I get a message that says "Device Unreachable - your device may be powered off or out of network range". My network settings have not changed and other non kasa devices work fine. I reinstalled app, but still does not work. Besides the kasa smart plug, I have 2 other light bulbs on the kasa app that are unresponsive. App needs fixing. Ratings will also be associated with devices sold.

The hardest part is the 2.4 vs 5 ghz connection to ur router/gateway. Other than that it over performs. Even records when i jiggle the door handle while door is locked from the other side so it will pan and pick up everything including sounds. Recordings so far are over couple minutes at a time. Works great. Recommend using a pro endurance chip with it for continuous recording.

The app was working great, but since the last update my cameras keep showing as offline even though my router shows them connected to my network. App will briefly show them as online, but when you click to view the video stream it will not load and then goes back to showing them offline. Not sure what's going on. Was fine before the last update.

Exceptional! There issued that we're there last year are now almost gone. The devices are always connected now and there are enough smart actions and routines in the app itself that there is no need to configure them from Google home. And all the routines that are configured in the app get reflected in Google home. This is very nice.
