Terrible for users who cannot read hangul. If it included station numbers on train or bus stops it would gain tremendous usefulness to non-koreans.

Good, but only gripe is that places are hard to use English to find. need to find places with Korean or Address

Awful map app. But was basically required for S. Korea. Uninstalled as soon as I left.

Worst map I have ever used. Slow, plus sometimes won't load at all. Navigation is horrible. Stay away. Google maps is USA le with a trick in Korea. Use that instead.

Kakao map is an indispensable tool in South Korea. Even for English speakers it is very easy to use. I use it all the time for both public transportation and the GPS on my motorcycle.

Great experience, very detailed mapping of public transportation, routes and the locations. Was very helpful during my stay in Seoul, Gyeongju and Busan. One improvement which can be done is to add English translations of as many key places as possible. As a non-Korean speaking individual, we search in English and the locations never pop up. We have to enter Korean translation of the location for it to search. It would make it more lucrative for foreigner usage if English search can be added!

It resets EVERY TIME I reopen it, so using it for navigation is completely useless.

I love this app. It's UI is cleaner and more intuitive than the competition. It connects well to other apps. I also applaud the English language support which is great for tourists and expats. **But please include a faster toggle between English and Korean. Maybe in the maps settings filters. It's too deep in the settings, when asking for help from a Korean or showing the address to a taxi driver. Showing the address in both English and Korean would be helpful.**

Great app, very detailed mapping. Restaurants and Cafes are all well captured in the system. However, they could have changed tab labels at the top of the map e.g. "Restaurants", "People's Favorite", "Cafe" etc into English as well if the user has selected English in the settings. Or else, for an English user like myself, I have to depend on guess work to know what each tabs means, or spend the extra time using Google translate to translate it. Other than that, it's a very intuitive app,👍🏻

super great navigation app! i was in seoul for only a week, and this app was such a lifesaver, helping me get around the subways, find museums/national monuments, and just explore my surroundings. if you don't know how to read hangul, then i'd recommend you find a different app that can translate things into english. but if you can read hangul and want to challenge your understanding, then this app is the best!! ^__^

English is my 2nd language. Even if you choose the English Language is not fully on English it's partial. Is not tourist friendly and that's not welcoming. It's frustrating to navigate the app when you have no idea what you are clicking and looking. And if you are not a resident it's hard to add payment. Google maps still more helpful. I hope they open the doors more to visitors.

Favorite Map Service in Korea. I like that I'm able to see/find bus stops and get pretty accurate times of the arrival. I also like that I can call Kakao Taxi through this app. One thing I don't like is that I'm unable to search for locations in English on my app, unless it's saved. My app is in English though. I don't have really any other issues/complaints. I share many locations with friends through Kakao and other message applications.

OK app, but got much worse recently. 1. Put the route button back in the lower right hand corner. It's super annoying for large phone users to have to stretch to the upper right hand corner every time we want to hit it. 2. Give us an option to not make the home tab pop up every time we open up the app. This is super annoying, and I can't disable it. 3. Stop putting ads everywhere. This app has been progressively adding more ads recently. The old versions had less ads.

Works well if you know Korean but English translation and English recognition still needs lots of work. The navigation is very weak and inaccurate when indicating multiple floors or levels. Needs much better navigation guidance notification. Completely lacking accurate turn by turn navigation guidance for walking and it doesn't even have route recalculation feature. Lots of guessing.

This is the ONLY GPS app I use. I absolutely rely on this app for work-EVERY DAY. I wish there was more customization with the Favorites Folders, and I want to be able to customize the advisories, to toggle them on and off, individually. I appreciate the helpfulness, but at times it can be TOO helpful - Sometimes, I just want it to shut up - I don't care to know where every Frequent Animal Crossing is. I would gladly pay, as long as it is not a subscription, if it meant more premium features.

If you're in South Korea this is a MUST have. Just download it now. Update: There are some user experience gotchas with this app. First, the default mode for directions does NOT update your location on the map. It shows no updates! You can get it give GPS real time updates...how?? Click around randomly...I can't reliably repeat the behavior. This is bad. Second issue: naming places. On map hover menu, "add place" is PUBLIC places. Not what I would expect. Private locations are hidden. bad desig

If you check my edit history this was originally 5 stars with a glowing review but as always they ruined their own app. Uninstalling and sticking with Google Maps which never has issues and always works. They messed up the app so IT NO LONGER SHOWS WHERE YOU ARE ON THE MAP in real time while trying to navigate to a place! Ruins the whole point of the app! 🤣🤡 Finishing my journey using Google Maps to track my progress with no issues and sticking with that app from now on.

It's okay but can't really be used on its own, even in Korean it seems to be pretty bad. For example, if you want to enter an address, even if you put the exact address or if you search really common things like "x station" it won't even give you the closest approximation. You have to use it in conjunction with another app. I was making do for a couple weeks in Jeju but it has no f*ng clue what to do in Seoul. Switching to another app to try my luck there.
