Great job on the update! Nothing but an error message for the last 3 days. You wouldn't let me log on till I did the update, since then I can't!

app sucks. won't let you do anything. tells you to hit take me to home page but it won't. tells you to hit submit but does nothing. literally can't do anything but log in and log out.

This is without a doubt one of the worst apps I have ever used. Half the time it's down for "Technical problems". It's very clunky and not easy to find the information your looking for. John Hancock, do better, my God.

Accessing any useful information takes several clicks/selections, but the app randomly crashes when you make a single selection. It reminds me of Minesweeper.

It's rather unsettling that I have to watch (for a while) that an app that holds very important information about my 401K load for as long as it does. I'm honestly not okay with relying on this platform to do what it is supposed to do.

the only reason I use this app is because it's who my employer uses. I've used Fidelity, Principle, and one other I can't remember off the top of my head from previous employment, and this app can not be compared. I know nothing about creating an app, but to me, this is akin to something they had a freshman HS novice coding class complete. If practicality and functionality are what you're looking for, look further. I'm convinced those who gave 5 stars have never experienced any others. horrible.

the only reason I use it is because I am required to. Absolutely no financial tools. you can't see a graph of the day to day value change in investments. you can only perform a very simple number of tasks. I could actually only see my last statement and not any of the prior ones. in short it is representative of a very poorly designed app. it is one of the worst I have used

Can't log in since it just doesn't load up. I input my info, then the buffer spin mark pops up for a second, and just as quickly as it appears it goes away without logging you in. Cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it. Still not able to log in. (Updated 4/5/23)

Does this app work? I launch it. Wait up to 5 minutes. Screen after launch just goes black and my "screen progress cursor" just spins on the black screen. Never seems to actually open up. Good job on updates? This is after your "been listening and made updates - update". Yep 10 minutes in and still black screen. Does this app not work on Android 9? Galaxy Note 8 phone. Verizon. Still doesn't work on a Galaxy Note ultra 22. It has never worked once.

Worlds worst financial app. Horrible interface. Laggy. Slow loading between screens if it doesn't kick you out all together. Popups for confirmation are cut-off, only half of it is visible with no way to move it or scroll over. You should fire the developers. My Fidelity app always works! Edit 4-18-24. STILL SUCKS WORSE THAN ANY OTHER INVESTMENT APP!

Definitely one of the worst apps I've ever used. Login system doesn't work 80% of the time. Basic features like a document viewer are missing and/or non-working. Attempting to change 401k contributions kicks you back to the login screen. This app is utterly shameful, especially coming from a financial institution, who most assuredly has the money to hire decent developers. We're supposed to expect this company to manage our retirement accounts? Really?

Terrible app. Login fails a majority of the time, it is very barebones, lacks a lot of features, and in general is a very buggy and slow app that crashes a lot. Needs improvement. The quality of this app should be unacceptable in a day and age where there are so many skilled app programers available.

App won't autorotate so I can't see the details of the items listed in Investment Options under Review Investments. Phone back button doesn't work in app. Tapping "Visit retirement planner" just gets a "Sorry, something went wrong." So, app is fairly useless at this point. Uninstalling. I'll try again later when I see things have been fixed.

A pretty bare bones app. Shows balance, but doesn't give any semblance of performance data. You can't view contributions vs value, either in static or graph/time form. Doesn't even show contributions, just total account balance. See no reason to use this over the website. I see that JH has responded in the same "we agree" tone for over a year without any change to the app experience. Missing opportunities must not matter when workers have no say in their retirement platform...

This is one of the poorest layouts and least functional applications i have ever encountered. The way in which you can interact with personal data is severely limited, it is slow, it lacks an integrated document viewer (a massive oversight for a company that is required to provide copious amounts of written information). Needs improvement throughout.

I'm using the website for all my financial tracking and budgeting, which is amazing. Way better than the options provided by my financial institutes. However, this app does not have the ability to do any of those things. It only allows you to view your 401k process and contribution percentage. Although this info. is great, I think for a mobile app to be useful, it should be able to allow users, if not do things on the fly, but at minimum view everything offered on main website.

It's like they auctioned off the creation of this app and went with the lowest bidder. Severely lacking in useful interactivity, gives only the most basic of information, anything worth doing with your account is better off being done on a browser. Accounts don't update properly, navigating to anything resembling detailed info is convoluted and once there, you don't have much control. More often than not, signing in results in a loading loop and it just force closes.

I like the layout of the app when it works. Very quick and easy to navigate, again, when it works. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the frequent issues of hour glassing when logging in and the app "failed to connect". This error occurs after the login phase and before the default home page. Have un-installed the app, disabled wifi, and powered down the phone with no success.

The website & app are not intuitive at all. I've been trying to find out how to add beneficiaries, & contacting JH on Instagram was fruitless, so I need to call. I also received a message that I needed to rebalance my account, so I set it to rebalance every January, & my total balance dropped some. I'm really upset by this. I read that it's a normal part of things adjusting, but I don't like it & wonder if I should just leave things alone. Hoping calling will be much better than using the sites.

Nice being able to keep a track on things. It would be cool if it did like a month by month growth or loss chart to see the gains or losses as it moves with the markets and maybe a suggested investment thing by age like whether to be aggressive or conservative and where to put put money. To me, it seems confusing, and it's like I'm throwing money into my 401k with no control. But overall app works great.
