Google Maps is all you'll ever need. I bought premium because I wanted to filter my train options to that of JR lines only since I have JR Pass but this app didn't help with that at all. So stick to Google maps and always just try inserting your JR ticket first before tapping IC.

Since the free version is no longer able to display intermediate stations, usability has been significantly reduced. Too bad it was one of my favorite applications and it wasn't a problem for me to see some advertising banners.

Extremely concise, accurate and helpful. I have nothing but good things to say about this app. This is a hands down essential app for traveling in Japan. The train delay updates and alternative route suggestions are very much appreciated.

It is very good for the purpose of navigating via trains in Japan and the inclusion of the travel pass. I will not put a point deduction on the features for premium, because they need to make a distinction from the free version.

Wish to upgrade free to premium as stated in the app at $15.99 for 30 days but to continue on your Google Play page, the 30 days ticket price is at $29.99, why not $15.99 as stated??!!

Most Train directions don't match the signs at the platforms/stations. None of the filters are doing anything. Pretty useless.

Really useful during our trip to Japan, would recommend to anyone going. Made the trains a lot easier.

I love this app and currently considering to purchase the Premium version. The free version is already sufficient for me at the moment. The app makes planning a Japan trip very convenient. My favorite feature is selecting a transportation pass, like JR Pass, to help in determining whether there are some sections of a route that requires separate fees.

Excellent app for navigating the train system. However, it gives a persistent and unnecessary notification that cannot seem to be removed.

Worked better than the Japan Transit Planner from Jorudan that did not have the Thunderbird Express train and wanted to pick a route an hour longer with 2 more transits. So on my trip, this app was spot on with the best route the train station recommended. Premium features are also very good, although one could debate if they should be free. App appears to make revenue from ticket sales.

Just downloaded the app, signed up, and clicked on the confirmation email. Now trying to log in and immediately I'm told login failed. Ok, reset password. Same thing. Garbage.

Look, it's great they tried to put together an all-in-one app for tourists exploring Japan. But in almost all cases, Google Maps is superior, and I didn't end up using this spp at all in the two weeks my family and I traveled Japan.

Very useful app to use for getting around Tokyo via train. Information is accurate and true and the free version is enough to get by. Arigato gozaimasu developers!

Works great, solves the purpose of navigating the subways and bus system. Design is old and flow can be made better. The app insists on location to be on everytime in Android. Route planning between two places should be more user oriented, currently the app just give you the best one only with no filters or options.

While this app is quite useful to plan subway and train trips, the pedestrian walk GPS is a pure nightmare. The app can either display a static map between you and the station to walk to or a dynamic map but without the itinerary. Why not interact with Google Maps and make everyone's life easier??? PS: The app requires a monthly fee, without which it is completely useless...

The most frustrating travel app I've ever used. It only shows the next 3 routes at a time, if you want to see 3 more you have to select one of them, then tap "next 3". Want to see any more? Better set the time to the future and do another search. Loads of standard features are locked behind a pay wall. This only provides the minimal info and behind a horrible UI. It's good enough as a planning aid, but using this is like inspecting an elephant while looking through a straw.

For the past 2 yrs I was using this app to get around Japan comfortably anytime I would travel out for mainly concerts/raves. Even with the bar that doesn't go away, I liked it. Now I can't even use it anymore to see how long I need to be on certain trains and which stations I need to get off at since it's now a blocked feature until you pay for em. Why should I have to pay to see where I'm going and where I need to get off at? Especially if some of the trains don't have English translations.

Has a notification permanently stuck in the notification bar that cannot be dismissed or disabled. Please remove this. Hard to use. Won't show a map of the route. Won't show a list of departures from a station. Can't find many destinations. Planning my trip is easier with google maps. ETA, this app is trash. I'm at station, looking for the train this suggested. It does not exist! No such depature time or train number at this station! Google told me a train and platform that is real. Garbage app.

Edit: Features that used to be free like viewing intermediary stops on routes are now behind a VERY expensive subscription. The app is useful, but it's a bad change. Original: This app is pretty much a must-have if you're planning on taking the train while in Japan. It's also useful for traveling aside from the train as well. Ads are minimal and unintrusive, too. The only issue I have is that I wish you could just look at timetables for entire days, but overall it's still extremely useful.
