The old version display/format is a lot more straightforward & user friendly. When I use the filter for JR pass in the updated version, the info displayed still shows the fare for the shinkansen & reservation seat cost, which is confusing as JR pass covers the cost. In addition, the ads are a distraction.

Suddenly changed to English. No longer gives delay information when the trains are running late. I've been using this app for years in Japanese, it's been fine. Now you've forced a derated English version on me because my phone's language is English! I would be ok with that but the train delay information is gone and replaced with a tab trying to sell me tickets that I don't need. Put the delay information back please.

I started using it again after a long time of using Google Maps. Against my instincts, I followed its suggestion of using a local train instead of a more easily available express train. I ended up arriving 17 minutes later than originally planned. I should have relied on Google Maps instead.

Very useful app, I use it on a daily basis. I would love to be able to see more info when my line is delayed, however. The app says that there is "operation information", but I cannot see the details of that information and have to search other sites to find out the reason. Other than that, very helpful!

As a Western Tourist from Canada in April 2023, I found this app was excellent and better than Google maps. We had a Japanese Rail Pass and the app, below the 'From and To" options has a bar called "Route Options" which lets you select Japan Rail Pass so you get only the trains you can take without payment. I could not get Google maps to do this. I also found the JR rail English speaking floating reps, when they were out of the office taking to us, used this app on their phone to help us.

Claims to support filtering by JR pass and Tokyo metro, but this is not an option in the app. This is available on the iPhone version, so I suspect this is either a bug or problem with the port to Android. Without that filter this app is not useful to me, though the route planning otherwise works well. Please fix the filtering!

Still crippled compared to Hyperdia. Hyperdia was the go-to Japan Rail scheduler for more than a decade. Since they lost their license, other mediocre apps have tried to fill the gap and failed. Jorudan is one of those. Limited selection of travel methods & platforms, limited directions and scheduling are all deliberate to encourage a paid subscription. If you want to discourage tourism for your whole country, this is the perfect way to do it!

Eh, honestly it's not as good as the old app from the same developer. The previous one was really nice and simple and worked well. But the UI in this one feels very cluttered and messy, and it feels like ads were forced in. I'm really sad the old one has gone. I think it could be as good but the UI definitely needs work. A lot of the English text doesn't fit properly and some of the translation isn't good. The 'F', 'L' and 'E' are not explained anywhere either, it was far clearer in the old app

As a foreign user, unfamiliar with the metro system, this is by far the best app. Easy to use and very accurate. Highly recommended!

The old Transit Planner app would tell you which fares were included with the JR Rail Pass. Now it's telling me I have to pay taking the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto, even when I have the JR Rail Pass option on. Please help

Love the JR mode since I used the JR pass this time around. Unlike Google maps, it doesn't only show the nozomi bullet trains. This made planning easier. Ads are a bit annoying, but they have to make money and it's not overly obnoxious. I found using this in combination with Google maps worked well.

Update 20240530: Just came back from Japan and I highly recommend this app. I'm able to purchase various transport pass using the apps conveniently. Update 20240424 : The search is working fine after most recent update. Thank you to the developer for rectifying the problem! The old apps is my go to apps for taking public transport in Japan. It was simple and seamless. The new one is pretty much useless as all my search keep hitting error saying there's no matching candidate

Very useful app that helped me survived through my Japan trip. Take me sometime to navigate around and get used to it, but the information is very clear and accurate.

It's mostly helpful, but doesn't seem to know about delays as much as Google Maps, and it sometimes seems to over-complicate routes. Even when choosing Fewer Transfers, I've noticed that sometimes it does not actually pick the route with the fewest transfers.

The old app was much better. The date and time selector is awful, it's confusing what you are actually setting, the date or the time. Also some translations are not great, for example when setting the time there's a 'decision' button which makes no sense in English. On top of that the ads are extremely annoying and distracting with multiple ads plastered all over your screen at once.

Absolutely essential for Japan travel. 500 characters isn't enough to explain how awesome this app is. If you're using Google maps, give this a try and see your transit trip time cut in half. Recommend the subscription too. It's only a few dollars per month, can be canceled, and gives a few extra nice features like trip history.
