Great help, especially during fire season. Edit: Suddenly I am getting dozens of alerts at the same time, for cities up to 50 miles away, leading to the phone beeping for a minute straight. Can't turn it off either. Why would the app alert me for all the cities around, and why individually for each one? This makes an otherwise very useful app annoying and interrupts meetings and other activities. It should alert only for the city I am in or at least summarize the alarms and only beep once

The in app experience is great, however, it does not let me update the display in my push notifications so it just continuously displays outdated data. I have to actually go into the app to get the real numbers. There is a refresh button, but I click it and click it and it doesn't work. There is no way to get rid of the push notification either so basically you are supposed to look at an old datapoint in your notifications forever. Otherwise it is a great app

This is very helpful. This app can notify you when there's a chance to air out the house, go for a walk or just breathe the fresh air. It also can notify you when the air is too bad to go outside. It's very easy top read. It has widgets you can set for multiple cities. I track my own city, my sister's and my mother's. It uses Purple Air (a system of sensors that update every hour). *extremely helpful *will recommend

Very helpful for making decisions. Only once have I thought it was giving erroneous data. Quite a few of the original locations have disappeared. I don't think that's an app issue. I've been told some of the recording sites shut down, but if it is an app issue, it would be great to have fixed. It would be nice to have some sort of time stamp so you know how current the information you're looking at is.

Simple to use app with easy on the eyes color scheme and large self descriptive icons, easy to understand terms with concise definitions if required. It didn't mark my location correctly, and no titling for streets, nor addresses, but was easy to tap and drag marker to my correct location, but that's only because of familiarity with Google Earth & maps. Wasn't that far off (1/4 mi.) and with AQI of 499 covering my city, it don't really matter. Updates about every 4-6 hours.

I use this app daily as I live in a city with variable air quality and want to make sure my outside exercise time is spent in decent air. However, the map in the recent update is extremely poor: The +- option for zooming in has been removed which makes it more awkward to use. The map graphics are now terrible. It's hard to determine landmarks and zoom into the correct region of the map. Rivers are almost invisible and the grey background is a bad contrast making it harder to read.

Best of the apps I've tried for checking AQI close to home. Fast response time, quick updates by a simple touch on the AQI number always displayed on the top of my screen. 9/29/2021: After a new phone update (Android 12 on Pixel phone), and an update to the app, response is faster and there's a sensor a couple of blocks that is very accurate and very fast. With the kind of climate changes we are seeing, I expect this app to be more important as time goes by.

Just installed. Appears to give timely AQI readings. My other air quality app has a 1-2 hour delay many times. I also use (2) IQAir VOC QC Series filters in my home since I live in a CA smoke filled Sierra location. They have been a lifesaver! Wish the app had a better "map" mode to see pollution on a statewide or country view, rather than a list of cities.

The UI is perplexing; it apparently selects the closest monitor with a name that doesn't mean anything even though there's another monitor thats slightly closer. Clicking on the monitor name doesn't show the map (or option for it); you have to bring up the separate map section and figure out where your monitor is and add other nearby monitors to your favorites. Once figured out, it's quite useful for it's purpose but the UI needs to be simplified.

Every time I open the app the ad for the other things they sell opens. Every time! And it's so slow because of this. When I first downloaded the app it didn't do this. I don't mind some ads here and there, but every time!?! I also wish there was more to the weather reports. I really would love one good app for air quality and weather.

Update: air quality has recently been completely wrong. Not in agreement with airnow, which corresponds with my actual measurements outside (green on this app vs orange airnow and my meter... 100 pt AQI difference!!) they should pull in airnow data to at least compare. previous review: Excellent info. Widgets very helpful but 1x1 widget needs a redesign. It looks clunky... too large and square. Some minor tweaks would be nice to the shape so it matches other parts of UI better.

Worked okay in the last town I lived in, but I moved and this app is way off (even tried different addresses and nearby locations). This app is telling me the AQI is an 8 and the air is healthy, but outside I can smell pollution and every other service is showing an AQI of 38 - 43, which isn't anything major for most people, but I am sensitive to pollutants and need an accurate resource. I didn't realize the area I was moving into had fair to poor air quality on a day-to-day basis.

I have used this to a good rate of accuracy in every country and city I lived. But upon moving to Denver it is clearly providing invalid or manipulated data. The app is daily at 30 but I can clearly look outside and not see with my eyes that is not true. I confirm AQI on other sites being in the 90s and 100s while this app remains at 30.

I liked this because it had a widget that displayed the air quality in my area in the notification bar on my phone so I could always see it and keep an eye out for changes and I got regular notifications. Not sure why but those stopped and I can't get them back on. All notifications are on in the app so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've uninstalled and redownload it and it didn't change. Oh well, I guess. Other than that the app works as it should. Just not for me

Very helpful. I like to open the windows at night, but I am in the "sensative" group for air quality. Canadian wild fire smoke was a problem last year and seems to be again, so I downloaded the app so I can plan better. I found it easy to select the reporting station I wanted. I chose one run by the state EPA rather than a private station, but the map shows all the close monitors so I can see how variable the readings are.

No air quality visuals on map like website. It's 100% better on the website, even on your mobile browser. The clunky earth option on the map view of the app isn't accurate at all when compared with the website map. For now, broswer bookmarks of the locations you want to monitor is still best. Gotta search for the places on Google though, then go into map view and bookmark it, because just moving the map around then making a new bookmark doesn't work.

I just upgraded my phone from a Pixel 2 to a Motorola Razr 2024 and while everything transferred over just fine the only downside is that the persistent notification for air quality does not show up on the external display. In order to see the persistent notification I have to flip the Razr open and then it shows up. I would really love it if there was functionality with the external screen, either with a widget or displaying the persistent notification like it does on the internal screen.

Great app to help me plan outside activities/exercise with my littles. It's simple and accurate for current air quality. It's expensive to start ones own station, or I'd do it. Prediction of future air quality isn't great, but not much worse than weather predictions. I would assume predictions can be very challenging with so many factors at play, so I'll give them a pass on that.

Update 23 June 2024- THE GUI has gotten worse: the graphical display of 24-hr AQI is no longer available. Also, the new version of the app requires a lot of personal information to allow the use of the app. Yet another update that only makes the app more frustrating to use. This time, the map of AQI overlay is useless because the names of the locations are not visible. The new fine details on the map in this update are completely useless. Why did they turn a good app into a piece of garbage??

The information provided by this app is critically useful; however, over 3 years later and the city names on the map are still way too small to read on my mobile device, really tiny, and when you zoom in the names shrink again so it's tough to orientate. I can't even find Lake Tahoe at times. There are no state lines on the map. I will continue to rely on this app and its map to see local and other areas' air quality, but I would sure like a Font Size setting.
