Gets me places I don't think I'd visit other wise. However am having a crashing issue when going through the recharging process. Ever now and then I go to use a power cube the game crashes when I push "use". Still five stars but could use the fix. 2/9/21: Ingress Prime has come a long way and is very much enjoyable and far ahead of what the old Redacted game was. Highly recommend, even for old time players who haven't played since Redacted.

The game was great before the update and it still is great and fun to play but there are a lot of bugs and account issues plus the lengthy tutorial on how to play. It would be nice if there was a skip option if you have already played and hopefully these bugs get fixed soon so gameplay would be easier instead of having missing portals or bad tracking.

The interface of Ingress Prime is a lot less glitchy now, and it looks a bit better than it did when initially introduced, but it's still a pain to use. The interface's layout is still as confusing as ever, but at least I've learned how to navigate it now. It is definitely not as user-friendly as the older interface from the REDACTED Scanner.

Like a scavenger hunt on crack. A constant game of "capture the flag" but more interactive. I have gone places and seen things I never would have noticed before this all over the country. It encourages me to explore other areas in the world. My team is super supportive and I've def. Made friends that get together to play. Mostly adults over 30. Basically you find a portal and try to claim it for your team and hold it. You level up by blowing stuff up, helping build defenses, exploring

Ingress prime has been the worst so called up grade to a game that was great. It's harsh to look at, it flashes your screen every few seconds, it's harder to navigate, it's much harder to tap a portal to hack it. If you can find your items, your doing good. The game doesn't track you very well if your moving. It will sometimes even loose you completely. If i could give less than one star, i would.

It requires active GPS/data which drain the battery, but this is perhaps the smoothest game right now on my Sony Ion running ICS. Sure the location services can get off from time to time, but it's fun to get into! Edit: The game has really changed since my original review. The interface became quite difficult and it became harder to get back into. It's also harder to play in rual environments vs bigger cities. Still enjoyable, but takes a lot of time and battery.

Edit: Prime unfortunately is not quite there yet. It is plagued with performance issues and linking bugs. The startup is much slower and the loading is uneven. I hear the battery drain is worse as well. If you have issues with the app, please search for "scanner redacted" also published by Niantic. It is the old app. A roll back of the changes. I am hoping for an improvement because I had been excited for Prime's release. The original and unmatched. Many of the features PoGO players are used to are here and are expanded on. Capture and create large triangles by linking local landmarks together while having access to missions. Satisfying overall gameplay but more abstract looking which will cause some to be turned off from the learning curve. Very tron looking. Recommend teaming up with other agents for maximum experience.

The new UI is horrible. I miss the ability to long press anywhere on the screen and have your controls pop up with the ability to slide to what you want to do. It was quicker than this mess. The graphics look great but they slow response time- missing portals all together. And still the lack of features is nerve wracking. Ingress Prime is a waste of time.

The new scanner is slow and it is difficult. It is difficult to determine who placed resonators and mods. It is hard to see fields and throw links. I see potential for inventory management, though it's difficult to determine what the items are and their level. It is less clear which items are common, rare, etc. The dropped items look cheesier than before. It is really going to take getting used to.

This was a 5-star game that Niantic ruined. It's a great game for individual or group play. It's an awesome way to meet new friends. It's really fun to collect mission badges by exploring interesting places around you. Unfortunately, Prime was apparently designed by folks that never play the game. They added unneeded fancy graphics instead of concentrating on game play itself. The game is no longer "fun" to play. It is "tolerated" at best. Every aspect is slow and freezes up constantly.

This game has become and remains a staple hobby that encourages me to go out into my surroundings and explore places I never would have thought to look in the name of helping my faction. I think that some choices by the company prevent this from being a total perfect score, but it's still highly enjoyable.

Recently returned after a couple of years away but the game is quite slow even on mid-range phones. Hard to believe that a game this mature would run so poorly. Edit: niantic have released a few updates: it's still slow to start, but now the game runs smoothly if no other big apps are open (Chrome, Spotify, SoundCloud) & if Bluetooth is OFF. Edit2: the bug where the game 'forgets' account data every day or 2 seems to keep returning after being fixed for many months!! Revised down to 2 stars

This game helped me see my own city in new ways, finding art and historical sites I'd never noticed before. Then Prime came and it was hard to get used to, but now I'm starting to enjoy the new features, especially for submissions. I started long after the Seer badge was retired, but it'd be nice to at least get a key locker as a reward after each 100 discoveries.

I have been playing this game for years, while it was enjoyable at first and I connected with many players making new friends, it seems that all the new features/changes have disenchanted everyone that I teamed with. The game has lost its appeal, and the recent change removing the capsule that grew items was the last straw for me. Exchanging it for one where you have to sacrifice several items to gain one or two is not good game economics for any player. It appears to be a money-making ploy.

Understanding the different mechanics of the game can be challenging especially without anyone to teach you. It is also a game where areas can be dominated and without traveling long distances or coordinating with others it can be very hard to play against such unsurmountable barriers. But if you're in a area that has a contentious back and forth between the factions then it can be a lot of fun.

The concept is great but there was a big step down with the new client. The old one was responsive and made gameplay very quick and competitive. It was dumbed down and slowed on purpose, which is a shame. Massive drop in active players in my local area and I think Prime might be part of the reason :/ It's just not as fun to play anymore and that gives me a sad.

Update: Freezes less often now, but still less functional than Ř was. (Location updating, freezing, etc.) Latest update worse, but we have rainbows, so thats nice. 7/7/22 previous issues mostly fixed, now sound effects/volume turned on every time I access the app, until I open the settings. I don't change anything in the settings, the app just "remembers" that all sound was already set to off
