More About Indies' Lies

Legend has it that the old gods were the source of creation.
Lord God Strockanos, the god of the universe, created the Mekaa continent out of chaos and formlessness. He poured his own blood into this land, underneath its thick crust of rocks. The gods of agriculture, destiny and death are all guardians of Mekaa, and the source of arcane magic. Therefore God´s Blood and arcane magic form the essentials of life in this world.

Over the years, humans have become the "lords of all things" in Mekaa, from the original ancient clan of the Alrayans, the migrating Elruips, to the Normaasts who were "exiled" to the end of the world. Humanity has developed a variety of civilizations among mountains, on plains, or in the form of nomad tribes. Although there were conflicts between civilizations and different religions over time, the belief in the old gods, mainly Strockanos, has remained dominant.

However, the advent of the "new god" Indies introduced to Mekaa a new faith, and a new "era" for the whole continent and human civilization.

ABOUT THE GAME
Indies' Lies is a single-player game that combines deckbuilding with Roguelike and RPG elements. It features procedurally generated maps, diverse talent/rune/partner mechanics, and hundreds of cards for different classes to ensure a refreshing experience each run. Indies’ Lies also has a thick plot set in a medieval fantasy world, with story adventures for each character.

GAME FEATURES
- Fun for Beginners, Depth for the Experienced
With the hope to introduce the fun of the deckbuilding strategy to more players, we have adjusted and optimized traditional deckbuilding mechanics to create a smoother and more beginner-friendly gameplay. Meanwhile, more experienced players will find gameplay less restrictive yet challenging enough.

- Take 12 Characters with Unique Traits on a Roguelike Journey
Indies’ Lies now has 12 playable characters from 4 classes: Wizards, Rangers and Mechanists, with each character coming with a unique set of cards and talents. It will be a different journey each time on the procedurally generated maps, where you pick different cards, learn different talents, encounter different events and enemies. Explore the possibilities and find your favorite strategy!

- A Partner System to Spice it Up
Indies’ Lies puts you in command of a team of 1 hero and up to 2 partners. There are over 10 partners, all with distinctive cards and strengths. You can match the hero deck with hundreds of partners’ cards to try different tactics. Instead of acting as a mere tank, the partner brings on more room for flexible strategies and team tactics.

- Craft Your Talent Tree
A unique talent tree is procedurally generated for each run, and talents were designed to suit different classes and builds. There are over 200 talents in total, designed to meet the need for deck development at different stages and for different builds.

- Explore a Medieval Fantasy World
Step into Mekaa, a world caught in the clashes of Gods. By collecting clues for each character, you can unlock each story mode and dive into their quests, whether it is chasing a lost love, fighting the Seven Nightmares, or finding the culprit behind Mekaa’s fall into this dark frenzy.

I didn'tike this game my first play, but I'm pretty addicted to it, now. I've bought the 2 DLC packs. There are some abity descriptions (cards and talents) which are confusing and in some cases, misleading. It could absolutely use a glossary and detailed explanations of descriptor text. Perhaps a better tutorial would help, as well. Overall, this game is amazeballs.

Handles way better than StS on mobile. I really hate how StS's cards are "floaty" and hard to swap between. This game doesn't have that problem. One thing though, the home screen is a little skewed on my Galaxy S20+. The right side buttons are cut off (but still usable) while the left side button is offset to the right more than it should be. Even when I forced fullscreen in the settings. Not a deal breaker but just something that could be optimized a little better.

I enjoyed the game enough to buy one expansion so far. I think that the developers should consider moving away from making this a clone of other similar deck building games and focus on what makes it good. Allowing the player to go on infinite runs would make the game better. It could be named survival mode. The default run seems like it would be better as 5 levels with increasing difficulty on maps 4 and 5. I like that cards can be replaced, but more straight up removing would also be fun.

It's a roguelike Final Fantasy type of game. You choose between three heroes, and level them up to be able to chose better starting cards. And it doesnt force you, per say, to watch ads unless you want bonuses or discounts on cards that crop up through a run. The other heroes you can start with are unlocked through DLC, which is fine by me bc it gives me more to play. Along with other players, and strategies and grind. It's a lot of fun and would recommend it to any roguelike/ card game fans.

This game is absolutely awesome! I love the fact that there are so many characters and stories, and the quality of those stories and the design of the characters are all interesting and well thought out. My only gripe is that sometimes the rogue-like mode is a bit short, with only 3 levels per map. However, that is overshadowed heavily by all the good parts of the game that keep me coming back. And if anyone complains about the translation errors, give em a break, Engemerish is hard.

This is a fun enough STS style game, but it has fatal flaws. Mainly the resolution is off so some buttons are halfway off the screen. But the worst part is that some ads can't be closed so you have to restart the game which messes with your progress. Until this is fixed, I cannot recommend this game regardless of how enjoyable it is otherwise.

Big gripe with an otherwise excellent game; The free version of the game is great! One 15 sec ad every now and then, with optional 30 sec ads for rewards. I enjoyed playing very much so I paid for a dlc pack, which also removes ads. However it doesn't mention that it also removes the potential rewards which you could get from watching ads. Part of why I paid was because I chose frequently to watch ads for the rewards, but now that I've chosen to support the game, I cannot get them.

I'm a fan of deck building rogue-likes, and this one is really good. My only complaint is that when you purchase DLC and remove ads, it also removes any benefits those ads provided. So paying $3 (or $6 if you get both) and getting rid of the ads means you lose the free card at shops, the half off upgrade, the bonuses from "mini games", the chance to change runes and partners available, and a second chance after first loss. For $3 (or again $6), you should get these extras without ads.

It's pretty good but there's a ton of ads. You can remove them if you buy a DLC, but then you miss some bonuses. The game is still easy enough without them though, as long as you have strategy. I haven't lost a game yet. One thing that bugs me is that some runes have no effect on some cards. For example: If you attach a +8 damage rune to an attack that doesn't do damage, you still do 0 damage. Either don't let us put runes into cards when there's no effect, or make it take effect.

Okay. This one is great. Like others have said, it has a lot in common with slay the spire, but it really adds a lot of it's own new stuff to the table. With the three characters you get at the start there is a lot to do. I especially enjoyed unlocking and playing the first characters personal story. The DLC is reasonably priced and worth it in my opinion. I only got one for now but will be picking up the second and any future ones. Also added to my keeper list. 10/10. Great job devs.

This game is delightful! It has a short story mode and a dungeon-esque battle mode for two different play options. Although it's very quick, the gameplay is great for a card system and the visuals are such a unique style of art. Also, you can obtain multiple party members, which is a trait I haven't seen very often in card-based games! Loved that aspect! Only note is that the combat is too easy; you can win with no effort once you have energy. Otherwise, AWESOME game, Especially for FREE!

Looks like a great card battle game! Basic music, cool 2D style graphics. Ads are a regular part of the game, but when I watched an ad to get a Max HP potion...it crashed, and my battle was reset. Not really looking forward to that happening again. It's a real bummer, having to do things over again. Even one time. But if this happens after the fifth or so ad ever, then I'm extra suspicious. Very big bummer.

Really solid Slay the Spire style game with a fun party system to make it unique. I would be playing this game much more if the in game ads weren't full 90 minute interruptions. A 30 second pause is fine every so often but a minute and a half for every offered buff, after every boss, and when a run ends is just ridiculous. Spent more time watching adds than playing the game.

It's not the most balanced of games. Compared to others in the genre it's reletively easy to win in your first few runs... BUT. Oooh but! It's very fun. There's quite a few ways of playing, a ton of customability for your characters as you progress. I've only done a few runs yet I've already bought the DLC, it's well worth the around $6 for what's currently available. Give it a shot if you love deckbuilders!

I had originally given this game a 5 star review because it was amazing and I loved it. I played it all the time. Currently though, with this most recent update, the game just isn't what it used to be. Card effects, runes, damage, block, all reworked when there was no reason for it. Sure, skins are kinda cool, but unnecessary. The collapse talent option is nice, but the talent bar wasn't really in the way to begin with. The alteration of an entire card's effects and usefulness though, that sucks

Honestly one of the best mobile games i've ever played, and i do not say that lightly. It's free, but dlc is extremely cheap (2.99) for what it offers and when you get it, you get the ability to turn off ads too; no seperate payment for that. There are a few things that bug me however; the HUD can get quite cluttered since it shows your talent tree at the top during combat. This is not a major deal, but it's something to keep in mind. And it does have a few things in it's ads that bug me.

I don't normally rate (or even play) mobile games, but huge props to this one. Fantastic art style, smooth interface, the ads are cancer but buy any one dlc pack (all of 3 bucks) and you can disable *all* of them. Cards and interactions feel powerful without ruining balance/difficulty, *any* card acquisition can Replace an existing one, and I've been having a ton of fun. A note that the translation is a little broken in places, but that's my only strike against it.

I've played this for almost a year playing atleast 4 times a week and decided to buy one the DLCs so I can main a different character type for while. Mostly offline. I got the idea that the warrior-type characters were more simple to play as than the wizard-type, but it's different. It's different in a way that restored my level of curiosity on exactly how much better can this Indies Lies get. I'll can definitely say I'm getting the rest of the DLCs eventually.

This game has so many cool options: Card upgrades, enhancement with runes, character enhancements (artifacts and talents), cool map events with periodic mini-games, beautiful art work, great battle animations, and on and on. It's very easy to tell the developers enjoyed their job and it shows in this masterpiece of a rogue-like card game. Super impressed with it!

Good gameplay, but some of the text is so frustratingly small that it ruins the experience for me. Tapping and holding a card doesn't zoom in on it as you would expect, and I find myself having to hold my screen inches from my face to read some of the smaller tooltips. I have played plenty of other deck builders and card games on mobile and never had an issue with this. There are no accessibility options to improve readability or text size either, feels like a huge oversight.
