Please read: The system they use is very secure but it makes everything difficult to do. There is no easy way to log into the app. The website is just easier. The user interface is terrible. They don't offer an easy way to see the past order history and dividends. Instead you have to search through statements using the bulky interface to find what you are looking for. The low margin rate isn't worth this headache.

Needs work. Huge variety of data, and the very basic "enter ticker -> buy/sell -> exit strategy" workflow works great. But, nearly everything else is clunky. You can't swipe side-to-side between tabbed menus, which is a big annoyance. Then there's the login. A password + an "IB Key" which is a half-baked and useless 2fa implementation + sometimes??? it asks for the lock code for my phone. What year is this? Just take my fingerprint.

In the last couple months this app became very slow. Charts often stuck loading and trading template sl came up as error all of a suddenly (fixed now), and very often when I bring up the trade screen there's a delay of a few seconds, which sounds like nothing but these days price can change a lot in a few seconds. Please figure out why the app has suddenly become so slow.

Horrible experience. Charts doesn't work. Apparently the app get disconnected form the server and you don't get data and are unable to see charts. It's impossible to trade. This happens particularly when volatility increases in the market and you get simply off the market. I think this is in part an app related issue, in part a server or IB technology issue. I lost my interest with this service and plan to look somewhere else for better trading experience.

Update: The year is 2021, basic functionality like sorting by columns still doesn't work. The interface is terrible both in layout and menu flow. The app generally runs slow, even on the current flagships. Interactive Brokers really needs to consider scrapping and rebuilding their apps with a modern cross-platform framework like MAUI.

App has bugs everywhere. Also makes everything unnecessarily complicated like sign you out every few mins, ask for password twice when doing simple things like deposit (every single time), ask for pdf document verification for everything, disable password autofill. All these small things add up. I've used many brokers and none of them went out of their way to make things as difficult as possible for their users.

I would not recommend. This app is very glitchy and not intuitive. I have two accounts and it never displays the accurate amounts that are in the accounts. Then, when trying to close positions it throws in quantities that don't match the account and won't let you close, gives you an incorrect margin error, which caused me to lose thousands on an options trade. There are much better options available with other companies.

The mobile platform is difficult to navigate and "over complicated." It seems the developers believe people are doing market research on their phone, instead of monitoring/executing trades, which bogs down the process. The layers of security bogs down things as well, since it will sometimes log you in to the "read only" version and sometimes the full "live market" version, with no rhyme or reason which one, and then makes you run in circles trying to log out of one and into the other.

I'm super disappointed. Thought I found the perfect app that could do almost anything I wanted it to. Charts look great, built in scanner, many different order types. But the option chains just won't load. All I can see is blank fields where all of the quotes should be. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it's still the same. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. Mobile trading is crucial for me while I still have a job, so I need to defund this account and put all of my money back in Thinkorswim.

I've been using this app for awhile and I think it's pretty good overall. It has some quirks though. The main thing I'd like to see improved is the speed that options chains load at. For some stocks it can take 20-30 seconds for data to load. The options scenario simulator is also very slow to load usually. Lastly, I would like to be able to choose the routing destination for stock trades. It boggles my mind that it can only be done through ibot when a simple dropdown menu would suffice.

This app is good in some ways and bad in others. IBKR as a platform is very professional, powerful, and well developed. This app is an okay way to use that. It's roughly equivalent to the website if not a bit better. The core functionality is easy to use once you get the hang of it. It's very feature-rich. It's well-optimized. The download size is quite reasonable. It looks very nice while still providing tons of information. Sometimes I wish you could customize the information a bit more though, such as showing positions in dollars instead of shares on the portfolio screen, or showing total change or gain of things somewhere. But still, what they give you works well enough typically. The most annoying problem is how networking is handled. Loading screens pop up constantly. Logging in takes forever, seemingly requires you to enter your password every single time ever, and requires great effort to comply with the mandatory 2FA. It technically has a way for you to use your fingerprint instead, but even discovering that and setting it up is a very difficult and unpleasant experience. Also, it only works on one device for some reason. Once you're logged in and using the app, it's a pretty good experience, but getting there is a bear, and it's really quite a big deal if you're just logging in for a couple minutes every day or two and you have to spend half your time fighting the app.

The app is mostly good. It has a lot of information, and the layout is fairly intuitive, although it takes some practice. An annoyance is the buggy two factor authentication. Sometimes it doesn't come up. Weird that SSL isn't on by default. Also, the watchlists act very strangely. It would be nice if they just synced with your account's existing watchlists (i.e. didn't create phone-specific ones).

I like the progress made but there is still room for improvement. Look at the thinkorswim app for clues. Like when you are looking at a chart you should be able to set up an alert right from that screen. You shouldn't have to go the alerts tab to do this. Edit: August, 2020, after 2 years still waiting for a quick way to add alerts. Also, ibot cannot be removed and is super annoying.

I really like interactive brokers overall, and I like their app. But now there is a feature where the log out button turns into an ad shortly after you scroll down. I've accidently clicked this ad (I know that's the intention of the developers) multiple times. I pay to have an interactive brokers account, l pay commissions, activity fees, interest, etc. I shouldn't have to see ads on their app and especially not ads where I'm tricked into clicking.

Works great. Much easier to use than the desktop platform, but feels almost as powerful. Temporarily had some issues, which i thought were app related, but looks like some server issues. Update 5/28: I regularly update this for all the great new features. Not so, this time. Can we please revert some of the new features. Previously,Touching on any open order from the holdings page used to directly take me to modification page, now it asks to modify or cancel. 2. Search on open orders tab broke

IBKR's mobile app is very easy to use and does pretty much everything you want on mobile. The only complaint I have is how difficult it is to figure out where some of the more advanced features (such as third-party services, i.e. Plaid, so you can get the query ID you need) are located. The redesign of the settings did help, but the advanced settings are where I need the most help navigating.

Need more spacing between rows/columns in options section, bigger font. Too many things going on in one page in many places, app is hard to navigate, feel like I need a whole manual or use the app for years to get over the massive learning curve. Need to have a tabbing functionality to switch between calls and puts, even for multi leg it's more cluttering than helpful, need to scroll over to the right all the time.

Extremely buggy and unclear UI. Prices frequently fail to load and the totals rarely add up to what the UI says is the actual account total. If you use their "interactive advisors" service then the UI gets even worse with completely inaccurate account totals and performance tracking. Really disappointing, it's a very fancy UI completely ruined by bad math and trivial bugs.

I wanted to get an IB account as it was recommended to me as a good service. So far, I have had nothing but issues at almost every step of the account opening. The KYC part was actually simple, no issues there. Logging in, getting started, funding, setting up 2 factor, etc have all been near impossible to do. Customer support is difficult to find as it always routes you to the FAQ. The app gave me a phone # to call that was a dead mastercard service of theirs. (Yes, I double checked the #).

Easy interface with many ways to invest. However, I don't like the fact that IBR doesn't offer free market data pricing overview, which is... Also, this is more towards options, you cannot buy or sell during the first 15 minutes of market open. This can be detriment if there is an immediate buy/sell signal. I've noticed my stop loss disappearing while being in a swing trade. Looking elsewhere in the meantime to better accommodate my needs.
