Do not try to use this app. It is nothing but a scam. The will ask you to pay 30$ for a background check just to set up your profile. Then you will receive an email denying your application. I have a great driving record and currently drive for Uber Lyft and Doordash. But was still denied. I also never received the 10$ bonus I was supposed to receive for doing the background check. As soon as you start to set your profile up they will spam text and call you nonstop till you complete it.

I used the app to rent a car for nearly two months and no part if it was easy. The support agents rarely knew anything about a question or issue I had and the overall experience was frustrating. I rent through Uber now and save 500 dollars a month even though I snagged one of the cheapest rentals on the app. Other companies do what this app does just waaaaay better. Avoid it.

If I could give a negative rating I would, low quality cars and bad customer service. My card on file was just charged for a 2 day extension on a vehicle I returned 3 days ago, in the process of disputing the issue now. Funny thing is I would've extended the rental but the car started overheating and they didn't want to fix it. Never renting through this company again, a complete nightmare from start to finish

This app is quite a game changer, it's signup process had me worried at first but it turned out great. I gripe about the transaction fee like everyone else but they need to make money somehow right? However a couple of ways they operate need to be fixed and the random bugs are counter-productive. That count down needs to go as it can unfairly overcharge you, needs restarting often to fix itself, communicating with owners is barely possible and recently it won't open for 2 days now. Needs work.

Edit: Well at least I can scroll through listings now. Unfortunately the service is so awful that I can't recommend using it at all. I have been allowed to pay for two rental vehicles that had expiring documents DURING my rental period. Customer service will constantly blame either the driver or the owner instead of owning up to their mistakes. Worst customer support experiences (yes, that's multiple experiences) I have ever had. STAY AWAY FROM HYRECAR INC.

Makes you go thru hoops, asks for all kinds of personal information and all kinds of monkey poses to camera collecting biometric data, only to deny you by saying unexpected error. (Whatever that means). You cannot contact support, and when you do, they tell you to reinstall the app. Only to repeat it all over again. Total waste of time, just get your credit card and go to rent a regular car, save yourself time and frustration.

This is one of the worst customer service based aps that I have tried to use. They advertise themselves as easier and cheaper, but they are neither easier to access nor cheaper. In the end this app is not worth the space in my PC. They did however gather a lot of my personal information which bothers me to say the least. And they did contact t me by phone, a live person, but in the end I had to have more documentation than a normal rental company.

There are bugs in wich leave the screen to be unresponsive at times. However, features are great. There are other applications in wich this company would be competing with. You will need to find somthing that may stick out conpared to other apps. There is not a lot of rental car commercials for example. I would love to see this company reach its success in the next quarter. Recommend a strong investment for advertisement. Email me and reply to this review so I can tell you more. Thank you! 😁

I've been using this for a few years. Pre-pandemic the in-app chat support was nearly instant. It is non-existent now, always giving a message that they are busy and call the phone number. For over the past year the website login portal for drivers became defunct and multiple bugs in the app went unfixed. Currently I'm reinstalling the app to see if it fixes the annoying problem with starting it. I tap the Hyrecar icon multiple times with it refusing to launch...

App is a buggy mess, almost impossible to use. Filters that keep resetting, inaccurate car names and photos, locations that reset when you refresh the page, sorting doesn't work, and the map zooms to max view when selecting a car... Quite frankly, this is impressively bad app design and UX. I'd be amazed if whoever coded this app still has a job...

Customer service is mediocre and there aren't many options to customize the app for your personal preference. You can't upload any photos to the app, only from the camera which is STUPID because documents are more efficient and solve a multitude of problems that photos can provide. Hard to get in touch with help and it doesn't display all the cars in your city either.

App appears to be simple and straightforward but it took me 6 hours to take a simple pic of my driver's license and then another 4 for a selfie. I tried different lighting, WiFi, different phones and either the app wasn't able to "verify image quality" and I mean wasn't were able to or the app just crashed and would reopen only to crash again. I finally realized I was able to apply online from pre-existing pix on my phone. So, after nearly half the day spent on it, I finally was able to apply.

HORRIBLE!! DO NOT RENT! Pickup and rental were seamless. Car was great to drive. Problems came at return. The locker system they use to check the car in did not work. I spent over an hour outside in 11 degree weather trying to reach support. Then they charged me a $45 cleaning fee though I have pictures of a clean car. They extended my rental and charged $71 extra, and they did not return my $99 deposit. All because their return system failed. Unable to resolve issues after two weeks trying.

This is a good idea with good execution and will be better as more people catch on. The CSR, Michael, was helpful and professional. At the time of writing, though, the selection of cars is quite limited, and has nothing available that fit the requirements of Lyft Black/UberBlack, nor LyftLux (there was one vehicle that qualified for UberSelect). My one technical gripe was in searching for cars further away than 100 miles: automatically zooming in on the location made it difficult to search.

The worst experience! They charged me $99 three times! Without even renting a car... My guess is, when you request a trip with each car, when the person tries to accept your rental request they charge a $99 deposit; for every renter that tried to accept your request... Which is stupid because the $99 deposit is included in your trip fee. I called customer service and they hung up on me. I want my $99 the three times I was charged.

Terrible experience. Could not effectively sign up because I had to keep changing/resetting my password. Totally unnecessary that they give the option to sign up using your Google account, but won't give the option of using a password, therefore you cannot sign in the app. Would not allow me to put my address in as it kept changing my address every time I typed it in and clicked on it. Totally terrible experience. Spent almost 3 hours trying to sign up and couldn't. Complete waste of time!

License and face scan feature just doesn't work, and if you try too many times, it locks you out and you have go call customer service. I have a newer license in pristine condition and I tried all kinds of lighting and backgrounds and it just doesn't work. It doesn't let you snap the pic when you're ready, it does it automatically when it thinks you're ready, then it can't read it. Now I've been the "next one in line" with customer service for over 20 minutes. SMH. Awful app.

This app is a total No! I paid the background fee just to realize that HyreCar charges tons on insurance. I needed to get a car while my car is in the shop so I can continue driving rideshare. I looked at the prices of a rental for a month and the insurance fee was over $1,000. I have a 06' Lexus GS430 I haven't driven since 2018. Instead of renting to this janky app, I put $1,500 into my "own car" to get it road ready. It's been the best decision. Weigh all your options before using this app.

First time renting, and the car I picked had a registration that was about to expire. I contacted seller with no response. As an app, if the car had issues why was it listed? I shouldn't be able to pick that as an option. 2. There is no rating system. The seller was bad at communicating. 3. Once I got my refund, the app kicked me off, credit card info was lost. And now I can't log in Update: app won't connect to gig account. And coupon to redeem doesn't work on app. Very disappointing

If I had another option other than this platform I would go there. Horrible experience with this company. Rental car broke down 45-minutes after pick up. Hyre car customer service was useless. I waited with the vehicle for almost 3 hours until I had to leave the vehicle where it was. Apparently, car low on coolant, but who rents cars without basic fluid checks. I couldn't rate them on the app, but I can here avoid Roy K. on the app. I hope someone improves this ideal for better options.
