We have enjoyed using this app while traveling. It gives you options for hotels in your immediate area and has a range of costs, variety of styles of accommodations along with reviews. Plus the more you use the app, the price will go down and you will get money back to use on another hotel you choose on this site. It has saved a lot of research for us while traveling. Thank you!

Just used the app for the 1st time to get a last minute hotel. The app is supposed to get you deals but I actually paid $1 more than I later saw a room listed on Google Maps search. When I arrived, the hotel had my reservation, but didn't show the room was paid, even though I had to pay through the app, so the front desk clerk had to spend a while on the phone to get that straightened out. Plus the place is absolute trash. Broken TV and door knob on the bathroom door, a roach in the room, etc.

Disappointing. The first time I tried to use it they said my account was locked and I needed to email some support account that would get back to me in 48 hours. Not exactly "tonight". I'd heard good things, but bad customer support for a travel app you're trying to use far from home is unacceptable. Update: They got back to me via email several hours later. Still not great for a last minute booking app. Wish I could have resolved this over the phone/chat.

Dont use any hotel booking app, ever. I was on a road trip and gave this app a try, I found a place and booked through Hotel Tonight. When I went to check in, the app made the reservation with my same last name but entirely different first name, even though my name in the app settings was set correctly. The hotel would not check me in because of the difference in name. After an hour of fighting, I asked for a refund from the app which they said they would provide; but they never did refund me.

While this app may be good in a pinch I am very unhappy with my latest experience. HotelTonight routinely does a poor job at providing information, descriptions, or pictures of the locations provided. Not being able to get a refund is not acceptable. Especially when you arrive at a hotel in a sketchy neighborhood that is very clearly NOT family friendly (inappropriate images). This was seriously a first for me. I don't think we'll be able to trust this app again.

Failed at booking a hotel because the bed icon is too dark. I literally didn't see it when I got to the final page, which already looks like a confirmation page. There was no forward button, just back, so I figured it didn't work. Choose a color scheme that is readable in normal sunlight. Otherwise people like me will show up at hotels with unbooked rooms. Not bothering again. Also all feedback mechanisms in the app are broken -- the app feedback button opens a "share" dialog.

I'm surprised to read so many negative reviews. I've never had an issue with the app. I have come close to booking the wrong date...always make sure to check the dates you are booking. I've saved $30-550 per stay and have even received free room upgrades, although that really depends on the hotel you are staying at. I think this app is awesome because it saves you lots of money and offers killer rates! I highly recommend it!

I travel a lot, sometimes I have to stay in a certain place but when I can or when I don't know when I am stopping for the night I always get a great offer with HotelTonight. One of the best apps I have come across. Perks get better as you move up in level (think rewards), try it you might be surprised at the accomodations you can find for the same people that leave the light on... Just saying.

The app is good for picking up a room last minute. The app gets one star because it is very buggy. Half the time it does not work. Specifically, there is a bug that prevents one from booking the selected hotel. Frequently, it locks up when attempting to "Add Guest." This is very annoying to deal with when you are trying to find a a room for the night and get rest.

I am very happy with the customer service at hotel tonight not once , not twice, but 3 times they have helped me out. I had to cancel a hotel stay when covid stared. The refunded me the full amount. I then accidentally let my credit expire ( with covid and all) they reissued the credit as a coupon for the full amount. I didn't realize I had to use the full amount of the coupon. I called in and they again came to the rescue and issued a coupon for the remaining amount. Very satisfied

I used to like the app but it's possible I never realized how misleading the pricing is. They know if hotels charge an extra fee but don't put that in the price. It's in the fine print when you checkout. So you see 1 price the whole experience, you get an email saying there is $0 balance due, then when you get to the hotel, they charge you a hotel fee that hotel tonight knows about. You should show the total price upfront.

Responsive customer service, but ultimately a waste of time, much easier to call a hotel directly, plus they didn't refund, just provided credit towards another hotel. Just signed back in after a few months to discover the credit they gave me (instead of refunding my money) has expired... but hey, it's not a scam if it's all in the agreement when you sign up right?.... right? :-( I've never flushed money down a toilet before but I imagine it feels something like this.

Great for procrastinators. Very easy to compare rates between hotels in the area with decent descriptions and thoughtful commentary. Most places have several pictures describing the hotel. In my experience, most prices are about $10-20 less, then taxes are added which balance it out to most other sites/apps. Con: the referral system doesn't seem to be very easily utilized because of the sparse hotels allowing coupons to be used. CAUTION: App will sometimes label hotels for the wrong city... 😤

Very simple and easy layout. We used them to book a few hotels this year. Keep in mind that they are not always the cheapest. I just saved quite a bit more using a competitor! Remember to check around. Also, wish the Developer would ADD the resort fee scam to the total price. It's unfair in comparison and wastes time. Why not make it a search when I can exclude those hotels that we won't patronize.

Update: this app is now beyond useless. I cannot filter hotels, which presents a real problem when traveling with a pet. I have to go through the very few results I am given and *maybe* one will be pet friendly. Old review: My partner failed to book a hotel for part of our trip out of town, so I decided to give this app a try. I was greatly surprised that the destination was available and that there was more than one option for hotels available. On my first checkout attempt, the app crashed after selecting my payment method, but upon reopening, I was pleased to find that all of the checkout information I had entered was preserved. I would have given 5/5 if it weren't for the small checkout issue.

Decent prices, and a great app to use if you find yourself in a city without hotel reservations. It worked well on my last trip to Europe, as well! I have to give an update: 4/2021 I have been using this app for 5 years. In the course of that time the prices offered for hotels in this app have evolved to the point that you rarely get a better deal that those found on the other travel websites. Also, additional "resort fees" are sometimes added on! Seriously? Just give the price up front!

Easy and useful. Doesn't ALWAYS have the very lowest rates. But it's simple to use and helpful. Don't have to do all that online searching. EDIT: Be aware! The customer service is almost non existent! I got stuck in a DISGUSTING room with old trash and human hair all over the place. Person on the phone gave me an equivalent of store credit. I couldn't get my money back. And I had to search for another hotel on my own. ONLY use this app if you've SEEN the location before.

I have long enjoyed Hotel Tonight, but haven't used it in a while. When my flight out of Indianapolis after a convention was canceled I knew exactly what to do. Now there's a new special deal thing you have to book within 15 minutes. I had asked for a room near the airport. That high pressure, BOOK-RIGHT-NOW thing gave me a GREAT rate! But it turned out to be 90 MINUTES AWAY! Can't cancel once booked. Lyft ride was $80!! I'm dreading finding out how hard it will be to get a ride back tomorrow!

I've been using this app for 10 years. Never had an issue. Within weeks of each other, though, I had two bookings that never got sent to the hotel. Once I get, but twice? When they stays were literally within a WEEK of each other? And in two entirely different states as well. I'll change my review when I get some assurance this issue is getting ironed out.

No password option, no way to contact hotel in app. For those who don't use password manager, their "magic link" via email may be convenient, but for me it is annoying, forcing me to open up another app before I can use this app. And after making my booking, I needed to contact the hotel, but there was no hotel info in the app. Had to go to Google Maps and look up the phone. There are tons of hotel booking apps. No point in yet another one that is harder to use. I tried it once, that's enough.
