I used to love this game as a kid. It gave a sense of panic and tension having mere seconds to shoot mondter from all directions without killing any buddies that appeared. But now, it's disappointing to see you can't even choose where to shoot. This was a great mobile game, it was fun, quick, and engaging. Now, its just one of those ad games 99% of people can't beat. It's sad Hopeless was abandoned and its even worst at the condition it was left.

I used to love playing this game on my iPad when I was 10 and I always thought it was great for relieving stress when I was angry or upset. I had a really rough day today and I was feeling nostalgic so I decided to download the app on my phone, but I was very disappointed to find that the old controls and power ups are gone and now you just tap in a single spot. This new version of the game has no more intensity and it's honestly just repetitive and frustrating. I much prefer the old version

What sort of idiotic developer, changes their whole game to dumb it down for kids. For those that don't know you used to be able to click where you wanted to shoot. And the enemies would rush you alot quicker. Which made for some quite frantic gameplay. But now the enemies come at you really slowly and its auto targeting and click to shoot but you can't choose where. Honestly stupid. This game used to be so good.

Listen up Upopa games. You made a fantastic game when you made hopeless! I absolutely loved it! The fear aspect of being in the dark getting murdered by giant monsters was thrilling. Aim and timing was everything. And the mechanic of killing your friends driving you to suicide was innovative and challenging. I recently redownloaded the game to find that you had changed most everything I loved about the game. The terror of facing unseen monsters was replaced with a click one button to shoot cute monsters killing cuter blobs with adds posted everywhere. Needless to say I was disappointed. I'm glad you guys have done well enough to fund several sequels and a new fighting game in the past few years, but why did you have to change a game so far past recognition when it was great to begin with? I am left with little hope of rediscovering the little game I loved, and it saddens me to say I am left hopeless. Sincerely yours, -Daniel

Undoubtedly preferred the 2015 build of the game, both in style and mechanics. Being unable to freely choose where and who I shoot creates scenarios where I'm forced to lose or wait a ridiculous amount of time for a blob to come in before I can shoot the threat that surrounds me during that time. Furthermore, being unable to shoot more than 1 blob tarnishes some aspects of the game. What's the point in letting the blobs in if they don't assist me anymore?

It's changed a lot since I last played 3 years ago, and not for the better. Sure, there are more guns and they're a lot more defined, but now you only get one blob, you don't even have to aim anymore, and it's now stage-based and not score-based. It no longer resembles the game I've been craving to reinstall for a long time and now resembles a retextured modern cash-grab advertisement simulator

WHERE'S THE OLD VERSION?! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!! Where you can shoot anywhere, if you shoot without any enemies they will get scared, panick and die, many places, buying guns, many levels, and locations, etc.. But now it's just a continuous-like level that doesn't have a level, locations, places, monsters has changed not the old one, and auto-aim and have to time to shoot after the blob get at you before the monster does, you can recruit blobs, but now it's just one.. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!! :(

I initially gave this 5 stars however, I found it quite sad to see that this game took away the one element that made it enjoyable which was the feature where you could shoot anywhere by tapping anywhere. By removing this, this removes the enjoyability and the difficulty. Plus I enjoyed this game due to it being easy to learn but unforgiving if mistakes are made.

Update: the new version of the game has disappointed me. I got back thinking I was going to play the game I enjoyed. It has now turned into something worse. Where's the multiple blobs fighting for survival? Where's the extra game modes creating more playability? Where's the abilities you could make use of when you needed them (like the paratrooper blobs). Overall I have become very disappointed in what this has become. Please change it back the way it was. (Like everyone wants).

Drastic change in gameplay. Not as fun as before. if possible I'd rate it 0/5. Whoever made the decision to change the gameplay killed the game.

Probably was one of the best mobile games ever: Until they changed the entire game. The game used to be a point and shoot game that progressively gave you more and more of a challenge the longer you survived. Now, it's a mobile cash-grab game with levels designed to make you hit more ads. Also, blobs used to join you when you got them, now they just disappear. Ruined one of the best games of my childhood, I'm gonna go get the original from a third party installer now.

I originally rated the game 5 stars as it was one of my favorite apps that I would play. I unfortunately had to uninstall it due to memory space. Years later (current day) I remembered the name of the game and decided to reinstall it. I am very dissapointed as it isnt the same. You used to find more survivors, but the more you had the worse their stress would be upon a death. The monsters were truly terrifying and it actually took skill to hit them. Now it is simple at best and trivial at worst.

The current version is trash. The original iteration of this game was phenomenal. (2015 version I think) It had direction based touch shooting and u could actually aim to avoid shooting an ally. The aiming mechanic was very simple and handled really well, surprisingly. It added more depth and micromanagement to the game. This made it so when the levels were faster and had more enemies it provided a good challenge where you actually had to pay attention, while still maintaining a low skill floor for casual play. Getting allies gave u more fire power so u could kill monsters faster and have a greater kill zone per side. Allies stacked to a limit but could be upgraded to a greater limit. More importantly they all huddled together into an adorable ball of survival. Trying to make as big of a huddle of blobs as you could, and trying to keep them alive for as long as you could, was one of the best parts of the game. It was such a good incentive! You start off with one lonely adorable blob in a dark cave with a weak single direction pistol, with monsters lurking around to kill you. As you progress, and survive longer fellow blobs find you and huddle up to you to aid in killing the monsters (also effectively acting as extra lives). You gained hope in surviving against the endless waves of monsters. Even though I knew eventually most of them would die as I'd eventually get overwhelmed. However that really captured the title of the game, "Hopeless: The Dark Cave." All these new changes just feel like a cheap, soulless cash grab with braindead timing based tapping.

I remember playing this game before 2015. You'd have to tap on the monsters to shoot them. The newer version kinda sucks and looks like a moble ad. But I see why they'd changed it. Back in 2015, if you accidentally shot a blob running towards your group twice, the blob that shot would commit suicide. I can see that being a "good" reason to change the game as some people found that disturbing. Thusly why in this newer version when you shot a blob, you'd just explode.
