This game truly forces you to think outside the "cube", as it were. At first, I had a great deal of trouble getting my brain to think in what is essentially the 4th dimension, even with the instructional levels. So worth it, though. One little thing though, could you give me the option to adjust the music volume in game without having to turn it off? Every time I start it, I forget to turn it down and the music is just so LOUD.

A fun puzzle game. The only complaint I have is that the controls are janky and seem to not go the way I want to. Definitely not good for one-handed play. Either that or I have small hands The puzzles are never so difficult that you want to quit, and give you clues, like shading, to show you which side of the 3d shape you're on. It's nice. Would recommend!

This game is very reminiscent of echochrome for the PS3. Some of the puzzles are very challenging, all of them are very fun! Great job, developer. Edit: the game is broken. Additional user created content is not accessible. I emailed developer a few days ago and have not heard back. I will change rating back when issue gets dealt with.

This game is beautiful. No exaggeration or hyperbole. It's straightforward and easy in concept, but an excellent brain-teaser. You pay just pennies for the extra levels and no ads. Sadly, I've played all the levels, but am enjoying the auto-generated "endless" option. The aesthetics - visual, music, UX - are simple yet incredibly ... elegant is the only word. The play concept is brilliant. Major kudos to the creators.

This is a really good game with an amazing concept. The optical illusions that it gives and the weird, cool ways that you need to solve them by twisting your brain around in the weirdest and most confusing ways, makes for an amazing, unique puzzle game. I wouldn't really pay any attention to the super critical reviews because the game workes just fine for me. You do have to pay later on but there's plenty of content before then to keep you entertained. Music sometimes plays when phone's off.

The puzzles arent too hard but still left me scratching my head. The music is very calming. Also pretty sure its a bug but the music plays over other apps sometimes, which is actually kind of nice adding a calming effect to everything you do. So you can just have the music over work and chill. Without a doubt one of the best apps I've ever downloaded.

I enjoy the game I find it calming, and it's fun exploring the shapes weird geometry. However, while playing the game half of the puzzles don't turn my brain on. I'm not saying I'm smart, or that it's easy. It's more like I can just go in random directions until I fall into the red hole. But that could be a plus to someone; you can turn half of your brain off and explore the shape. Either way nice simple game.

Wonderful mindbending puzzler! 40 levels for free (with no ads!), and another 80 for 99 cents. The puzzles are challenging and a pleasure to look at with their paradoxical construction. Great concept and great execution! My only criticism is that occasionally the controls can be a little difficult, but that's easy to forgive when the structures you're navigating are physical impossibilities.

like many other puzzle games that get progressively more difficult as you clear each level, this one is easy to pick up and enjoyable. i like the simple design and that it's convenient (doesn't demand a lot of concentration or time). I'm at level 40 as of this writing and my 2 main notes would be: extend the puzzles so they fill more of the screen and give us an option to slide the cube along the surface instead of the slow tumble motion.

Pros: Levels are challenging enough that I always feel satisfied, but not hard enough to be frustrating. If I want to finish a level quickly I can take some time thinking about it but if I want to just be Zen and meditative I can just move the block around for a while and see what happens. Cons: I would like a way to turn of the tap-to-move feature because I sometimes have to tap my screen just to keep my phone screen from turning off while I think.

My brain hurts and it's amazing. Each new level seems to be more mind-bending than the last, and the best part is there are ZERO ADS. I was super pleasantly surprised by this. Controls are decent, sometimes moving places you don't want them to go, but swiping instead of tapping usually helps. Overall, the game is great!I would reccomend it.

This is a really great take on a puzzle game. It's simple to pick up and start, then the puzzles actually get more difficult. I'm still stuck on a level that I'm trying to figure out on my own. Very refreshing gameplay. Definitely recommend it for any puzzle game player, and I love that the game doesn't spam you with ads at all. The Escher style is really cool and trippy. It's interesting to grasp the different dimensions around each shape and super satisfying when you beat a level. 10/10

Hocus is a fantastic puzzle game. The core gameplay and difficulty were executed very well. The stark contrast of the bright red cube and the grey geometry ensures that the cube is remarkably distinct. A con is that at times the controls feel a bit clunky at times. Also, the high pitched sound as the cube moves should be changed. Also, the direction idicator makes the puzzles too easy at times and can be a tad distracting. A toggle option should exist. Overall though, hocus is an excellent game.

In an age where every game wants to hit you with an ad per level, useless fake currency, daily login gimmicks, and all the other monetization models, it is truly refreshing to have a pure, fun, no distractions puzzle game. The game itself, very relaxing, great art style, perhaps not the most challenging out there, but it doesn't need to be.

Really, really cool game, finally a game created that is completely in sync with the way my mind works! It is addictive! Once you get the controls down & realize the colors are a key to the direction you can travel it's easy yet challenging in an odd yet refreshing way. Like to see something more done with 3D effect & graphics of actual puzzle/maze, so very much more could be done on that front. Overall, the only 5 star I've EVER GIVEN in about 9 years messing around with Google Play, great game, great job dev, give us other variations & you'll certainly have a loyal following, so glad I found this!

Well thought-out design and engaging gameplay. You can even create and test your own levels, which is almost as fun as playing the stock ones. Well worth the $0.99 for the additional levels, coming from someone who rarely purchases games. Update: I've had this app for over a year now and still find it fun and interesting. I rarely find apps that can keep me coming back like this one. Great replayability. Very happy with my $1 investment!

If you want something relaxing and slightly cerebral before bed hocus. is the move. Imagine being on the surface of a a knotted, rectangularized, Möbius strip, and you can only escape by reaching a point on it's "other" side. The game increases in complexity quickly, but is not timed or points driven, so if you get caught at a level there's no stakes. You can go back and replay levels, too.

Minimalistic graphics and music, mind bending visual illusions used as grounds for a puzzle level. I liked it, but some levels were pretty linear. The level editor was pretty simple to use, but there were no levels showing up in the popular levels and such. Also, a strange compiling error occurred with my level that I could not fix where floating blocks were there when they shouldn't. Also, there are zero ads which is a major plus.

EDIT: this doesn't count toward lederboard or achievements even though it claims it does. This is solely puzzle. Don't expect graphics out anything else. Once you understand the logic behind these they start to become easier to complete. Could have slightly made it more difficult by limited moves, rank by moves, or something as such. Good for wasting time so for a little bit of currency it is a good choice.

Serene, simple, yet mind-bendingly complex and unfortunately rather easy puzzles that calms the mind. My mind wanders a bit into the game as I pathfind different routes until I find the one that gets me to the endpoint. It could use some more challenging levels on the free ones to make it easier for potential and current players to buy it. Great bonus that you can play this game offline.
