Very good app!, I've used it for years now to get advice and answers from natives! One thing though, I recently took up Burmese/Myanmar language, and it's not on the language list, could u please add it? Awesome app!

Hi-Native has great features, but I don't get to take advantage of them. Even though I had a premium account and boosted my post to show it as a priority, it took 2 days to receive one correction. Also, I posted a short audio asking if my pronunciation was natural, and I never got a response. I think I would get more answers if Hi-Native allowed me to connect with people who are learning my native language and I'm learning theirs, like it was on our beloved Lang-8.

Amazing 🤩 app. Highly recommend, because I learnt lots of things from native speakers. Thanks a lot for everyone who created this app.

It's one of the best applications to interact with native speakers of your learning language and also making new friends!you can ask any question about the learning language which is answered by natives.I like it!!

This is the best language exchange social media platform I've seen. It is also available as a website. Most apps are 1 on 1 chat. This centers around two mechanics: 1) a well organized forum where people ask questions and anyone can answer. Recording pronunciation appears to be the most valuable. Hence the coins. 2) Live streaming. They must improve the moderation tools as more and more users come. Best community.

It's a nice platform. But in the app, you have to pay for features that are free in a browser. Pay if you want to PLAY an audio file. Even the translator requires premium access.

I've found it useful for getting Spanish questions answered, but often it won't let me vote on other's questions, which you need to do in order to comment. So basically I can get help, but it just freezes up with a spinning icon when I try to help others. Not great.

It depends on native speakers to correct. They aren't language teachers. I saw that fluent English speakers often (20%?) gave incorrect grammar answers. "A apple." If you are a beginner, that won't matter as much, but if you are intermediate and working on grammar, this is not a good way and it's very inefficient. I'm not counting on getting correct grammar responses for my Spanish because so many English answers are wrong. Too many notifications and all the awards are like for kids.

This app would be a lot more helpful with the learning process if we could hear the response/feedback that we recieve from other users and if it could be translated as well. It's hard to learn a language especially when you don't know how to read it, what it says or how to even pronounce the words when it's not your native language. Please, it would be really helpful to put a button somewhere that provides translations and pronounciations from the feedback

Very useful, although there are too many notifications. Simple questions get answered quickly. Like all language apps, it only can do so much. I use it in conjunction with several other apps, so as to effectively learn everything about a language instead of just one thing. For people who are learning on their own, this app is great. I can use it to get my questions answered and check my pronunciation, which is a unique feature in language apps.

HiNative is totally addictive! I love getting corrections & encouragement from native speakers and being able to help others with English. The free version isn't bad but with the sponsored ads and no access to some of the best features, I quickly opted for the pro version ... I think it's totally worth it!

I personally love the app, but there are a few minor issues that I feel like could be easily fixed. Mainly: Could we have a filter button on our notification wall where if we were to press it, we can choose to only view answers from those we follow (temporarily, we'd still get other notifs)? It's kind of like the YouTube filter button where you can choose to only have recommendations based on your subscriptions, but you still get notifs/recommendations from other channels in the background.

good community, needs bugfixes. It seems like the UI in other languages may be unclear, based on the formatting of questions I'm getting. Same with people's language levels. Also, when you reopen the app, it may show the last tab you were in add selected, but the wrong content. You need to cycle to a different tab then back to get the correct page.

I have so much fun making use of my knowledge in my native language. The internet usually brings out the worst in people. Conversely, with this app, I have so many authentically good and productive interactions with people. It fulfills a sense of usefulness. There are options for all kinds of teaching: correcting pronunciation, comparing words by definition, giving example sentences for words, and my personal favorite peer-review.

They switched around which features are premium --and now asking if a sentence sounds natural is premium. And the nagging to upgrade is very intrusive. $85/year is waaaay too expensive. The other features are still nice, but it's incredibly disappointing that they changed what's behind their pay wall. I'd think about it if the cost wasn't so crazy high... but it's just ridiculous. I'll be cultivating other resources, which is a bummer; this app has been a favorite for years.

One of the most useful resourses for learning any language. You can ask native speakers of your target language (no matter what that language is) any question you could ever possibly think to articulate, including questions about pronunciation. If you decide to pay for the premium it's definitely worth it, but even if you don't you won't feel like you're being cheated. I personally think the most useful feature is pronunciation correction. 10/10 definitely recommend this app.

The app works very well for what it's meant to do. My main complaint with the app is a lack of fast moderation. I've personally reported someone several times who was spamming the "questions about English" section, using it to try to contact someone who blocked him, and have yet to see any action taken. With that said the app, though imperfect, is very fun to use. Though some features are behind a "paywall" it does offer a refreshing amount of free content for a "freemium" app.

I think this app is really helpful for beginner up to expert level learners. Not only can you read answers to your questions, but in some cases, listen as well. For ex., I'm having a really hard time speaking the language I'm learning, though I can read it fairly easily. So, the audio portion of this app is super helpful to me. That said, I do think it is ridiculous that you have to have a paid subscription to hear 10sec audios on other questions when you can leave ones for free. Overall 4.7 ⭐️
