Unable to download offline maps. Gets about 20% and then it says "Download is not complete". This is happening for multiple states in the US. Tried restarting the app several times, even restarted the phone! Wifi, mobile data, VPN on and off, none of those made a difference. What's the point of a map app if you can't even do the basic of downloading an offline map???

I used Here several years ago as an offline maps option. Just re-downloaded and got the maps for my tri-state area and I'm pretty disappointed that there's a persistent notification that the download is complete and I can't get rid of it without restarting my phone. Trying to disable notifications only gives 3 "possible" notifications to disable and they are all named the same so... that's useless. Got the beta, but so far I'm not liking it either.

I live the better gui, but, the main reason for me to use it, is that in out of signal, quite often. When I am, it won't open, unless I'm in signal. It'll still work very nicely in offline mode, but I have to be in signal and know ahead of time, that I'll be out of signal. The older version doesn't do this. Automatic switching to offline would be very helpful. For me, both, in offline, are still more accurate than iphone and Google maps, and Waze.

Still needs a lot of work. I just tried it today on Android Auto and it kind of works. I found if you switch to the music app, it (Wego) doesn't appear in the smaller window to the right. Other things, map data isn't always accurate with lack of street names or wrong names. Lane guidance isn't always correct. The audio quality of the voice needs improvement. It would be nice to be able to customize the color of the street names. In North America they should be green and in Europe be blue.

One year later and a shiny new version. Still not ready for prime time. My year old review is still valid but I noticed even more this time. The map says it's a 30 minute drive to Walmart. Going the route they suggested (which is not the best route), other mapping apps show closer to 20 minutes which is actually what it is. The one route I do take to Walmart isn't even offered. Wherever this map is designed for, it's not here. I really do want this to succeed. We all need an alternative to Google's clunker. Keep trying guys!

No route options? I put in address and it gave me only one route (one I don't like to take). I couldn't see any way to see any alternate routes. UPDATE: Route options are there, now! Thanks. OTHER ISSUES: For upcoming exits, the exit number would be helpful. Also, the info for the exit often doesn't match what's on the exit signs (never noticed that in the main version). Oddly enough, the voice navigation usually DOES say what's on the exit signs while them map is showing something else. While running without navigating, I would like the map to stay oriented with the direction I'm traveling facing up, just like when in navigation mode. In portrait orientation, I can't see far enough ahead on the map to get a good idea if the turn coming up is the next intersection or not. This is a problem on local streets. I can zoom the map out, but next time I start the app, it goes back to the default distance. More amusing than annoying: The voice interprets "NY City" on exit signs as "North Y City", not "New York City."

The UI looks much better than the old version and I really enjoy the offline map with 3D components. But there are a lot to improve here: 1. car location isnt tracked very well. If I make a wrong turn, it takes 10 to 20 secs to locate where my car is really at, even I am at open space without tall buildings blocking the GPS signal. 2. UI smoothness is mediocre. My phone has Snapdragon 865 and 8 gb memory, and the other navigation apps don't have such problem

I've struggled with the latest updates for a long while like everyone else. The magic appears to happen when you uninstall the app and reinstall. But I also found that installing the offline maps to an SD card really slows this thing down. Without those maps installed startup is instant and everything loads quickly. With offline installed it takes 10-15 seconds for the app to start. But this is better than the 45 seconds it used to take. Still a lot of room for optimization.

I like the improved interface. One reason I use HERE WeGo is the offline functionality. I would like to see that combined with the beta interface. I ride a motorcycle and often end up in the mountains where there is no cell service. My old dedicated GPS has some additional data I would like to see if possible in the future including altitude and sunset. Ideally there would be fields available to choose from. This is my wish list rather than a necessity but when exploring on my motorcycle, I like to know how much daylight I have left. Overall the app runs much more fluidly and I like the interface. An auto night mode would be useful too.

I REALLY want to love this app. And in every way I do. Except for 2, 1 big, 1 small. The small issue is that it would be really nice if the screen automatically goes dark when the sun went down. The 2nd is that it always does a fine job of getting me within a block or 2 of my destination, but then really drops the ball at the finite details. I've missed turns, driven around shopping plazas... its very stressful. My family keeps trying to convince me to go back to Google, please fix this.

Wow! This isn't beta; it's in solid alpha status! The map is utterly devoid of any detail; you know, like...streets. I started a trip, and the app got stuck right at the starting point, telling me to go two miles to my first turn. Two miles later, I'm at the turn, but the app is two miles behind. The map pans and jumps around all over the place. I can glimpse what you're doing to this app, and look forward to it, but this is unusable.

Edit: crashing again. I sent the error report from the popup, so hopefully that helps. --------- Seems to be working now. Here Maps is awesome as it's not always trying to convince you to waste money on restaurants all the time, and actually shows relevant landmarks. (Unlike Google Maps) Combine that with these professionally done maps with realtime traffic and transit, and that it's free, I think this is the best option on Android.

Originally I didn't like it zooming in as I get closer to a turn, but you get used to it. Make it configurable. Route options could use some work. It's quick to re-route, but tries to make me do a u-turn for a long time before giving up. Not showing or saying exit numbers is really annoying. Announcements are way too frequent. You don't need to tell me to go straight every 100 feet as I approach a stop light that I'm not even turning at. Please get rid of that huge menu box when not navigating.

I like the redesign! However, the turn-by-turn directions are still not up to par with Google, to be blunt about it. I want to use this app, but the navigation details while I am driving is just not the best it can be. At the very least, announce the turn at least 25 meters before I have to make the turn would be good, and then again as I get closer to the turn. More specifically, announcing lane changes I need to make would be really good.

The real Here is a very good offline GPS app, so I expected this would be at least acceptable. It's not, it's absolute rubbish that I uninstalled. The map display shares the screen with a very large and useless window with information that could easily be moved to the top or bottom of screen so it does not obscure the map. The app doesn't even perform basic navigation well, I used it on a route that should have been on ONE interstate highway for 90% of the route (I was only really going to need the end of the trip but wanted to test) and it kept telling me to take local roads. Or it would fail to navigate at all, I was ON the shortest route and it would just display "proceed to route". Absolutely worthless.

I really like this app, but two main problems make it unusable for my application: the new transparent gradient in the top of the screen when in compass-pointing mode (when you tap the my location button twice) blocks useful map data and only makes half the screen usable map space. Please add an option to turn it off. Also, the bottom bar with the search and other options blocks usable map space as well, please add a fullscreen option of just viewing the map. Then it would be almost perfect.

App works, but offline maps does not. Old version works for many offline addresses, but after downloading state maps, the Beta finds no locations. Why? If this is fixed, will definitely upgrade review. Best part of Beta is waypoint! This will put this app on par with Google. Mapping not quite as good, but offline experience much much better...IF address location is fixed.

So far, so good with this beta version. Has all the important features visibly laid out on the main screen: Time of Arrival, Time and Distance remaining, Speed and posted Speed Limits, flexibility to easily add Waypoints, and accurate diving directions with clearly spoken street names. My only wish for a feature at this point would be the ability to change colors or themes/skins for a snazzier look. The current blue & orange colors are "just okay".

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this the UI still needs a lot of work but it's acceptable, the route guidance needs some work I don't like being asked which one of five routes to take I want it to automatically keep selecting the best fastest route. I am pleased with the effort being put forth in this app. Not quite sure how I feel about the 3D special audio sounds like garbage, that is not a derogatory mark on the app developer just it doesn't sound good obviously I'm going to turn it off

The app—pretty good. The data—not great. It is very out of date. Many local businesses that are no longer open still display on the map, and many newer ones don't display. The whole interface is clean and easy to navigate. Assuming you know the address for where you want to go, HERE's directions are also very good with reasonably accurate travel times. Voice navigation has improved a lot recently and no longer sounds like an early implementation of Siri.
