How to use the heart rate monitor free app to measure your heartbeat?

To use this heart rate monitor app, just put your finger on the phone's camera and stay still, the heart rate should be shown after several seconds.

What is a normal heart rate or heartbeat?

According to Mayo Clinic, a normal resting heartbeat rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute (BPM). However, keep in mind that many factors can influence the heart rate, including Activity level, Fitness level, Body size, Emotion, etc. Generally, but not always, a lower heartbeat at rest implies more efficient heart function and better cardiovascular fitness.

Consult your doctor if your resting heartbeat is consistently above 100 beats per minute or if you're not a trained athlete and your resting heartbeat is below 60 beats a minute.

What are heart rate training zones?

Heart rate training zones are calculated using maximum heart Rate (MaxHR). Within each training zone, subtle physiological effects take place to enhance your fitness. We have a similar definition to those used in Fitbit trackers:

- REST ZONE (up to 50% HRmax): This considers as resting zone.

- FAT BURN ZONE (50 to 70% of maximum): Recovery and warming up exercises should be completed in this zone. It’s called the fat burn zone because a higher percentage of calories are burnt from fat.

- CARDIO ZONE (70% to 85% of HRmax): Most of the main exercise should be completed in this zone.

- PEAK ZONE (greater than 85% of HRmax): This zone is ideal for short intense sessions (high-intensity interval training HIIT) to improve performance and speed.

This heart rate monitor app calculates and automatically saves your heart rate training zones.

Occasional errors happen. High or low readings can happen based on how frozen your hands are from the winter, or if you have diabetes and peripheal bloodflow issues. It you get a strange reading, test it another 2 times to see if it normalizes. If not, then you'll manually have to check your pulse, just to be safe. This app is great once you can get a feel of what causes the wonkey readings. Its usually user error but, to be fair it doesnt give us specific instructions on how to test accutately

I love the simplicity and quickness of this app. Measurements are accurate and start as soon as you open the app. Keeping track of the measurements is also important. I had this downloaded on another phone too. I love to see my pulse charted too. I can really see how my health has improved over the months. I also use this when I am feeling unwell in the middle of the night and I can know quickly and without hassle, if I need to take extra medication or not. Very great app.

Hoping it's accurate. It's helping me realize I need to take breaks every so often, to help my heart slow down a bit quicker. I like app. Wish it also had a way to take blood pressure. But, for a heart monitor it works well, & really does help keep track with a short explanation on how you feel. Wish there was a bit more room for explanation for fluctuating heart rate, to keep record for doctors. Hope you will consider. But, easy, & user friendly, please don't do update that's complicated. Thx

This is the only heart rate app I've found that I can stand... the little camera cover verification spot is ESSENTIAL. Also, I think the other apps & my watch are error correcting bc my heart rate is so erratic. This is the only app that simply records it as-is and let's me have that data, which is also essential. And you're not trying to charge me to keep/access my own info that I recorded myself like some apps, so thanks for that. Idk if it's fully accurate but at least it's working

Updating from 3 to 5 stars. This app is very good for the simple task of routine HR checks while sitting quietly. The interface is well done. The data logging and history are good. Simple functionality, very well done. In an earlier version, I experienced unstable readings and double counting. The developers have fixed this in the latest release. Great app!

once upon a Time this was a great app. I used it for a couple of years. as of early this year, updates have made it so awful that I'm going to delete it. the histogram, which I appreciate it, is completely useless now. you cannot read a comparison from one day to the next or week prior. I can count my pulse without it. goodbye.

I was looking for a simple yet accurate way to do a check of my pulse after starting a new heart medicine. The program does a very good job, mist of the time. I've based this by taking my pulse while the machine counted my pulse. There are a few instances where it was a little slow, but for an easy way of keeping track of ones pulse rate this is adequate. the key is to not press too hard against the light while it is recording your pulse, a light touch is necessary

I was contemplating buying a smartwatch to track fitness stats especially heart rate so I can sync it with my Google Fit. I didn't know there was heart rate apps that can sync heart rate with Google Fit using my camera phone lens to measure heart rate. There were other heart rate apps available, but this one synced with Google Fit without any problems. The other ones either didn't sync or their newer updates are now having problems syncing. It could improve with more graphs, tips, and stats.

When I start a measurement, as the ads load (which takes a few seconds) the graph is all over the place. Only after they load (5-6 seconds usually) THEN it works flawlessly. It's a minor issue, but it happens on EVERY measurement, so I had to increase the measurement time (which is a nice option!) so I give it a 3/5 stars for this. It's still the best heart rate app I have found.

I think it's fixed! (it isn't) it now says "tap to restart" after a reading (it did once and I can't replicate it). Which prevented crazy unexpected camera flashes at the gym. Flashes which made it seem like you are snapping secret photos of strangers. but the app would be perfect if it had a prompt after each reading to prevent undesired flashing. it saves your labels for ease and uniformity. and it links with Google fit. yay! But still makes you look like a creeper if you use it in public.

1. Very difficult to find the right position for a finger. 2. Very primitive statistics close to none. Changing 3 stars to 4 since I have found the way to make masurements efficiently and easily. Instead of trying to fit your finger to the camera as the instructions says, place the camera on any open area of your body (arm, leg, etc.); it works like a charm.

I like the look of the interface. Simple, modern, attractive, not trying to sell you something every three seconds. My one complaint is that the app seems to occasionally default to opening on a page that's blank except for the menu hamburger (those ubiquitous three lines). It means I have to click through to a menu instead of putting my finger right on the lens to measure my pulse. When trying to measure my heart rate during a workout or when I'm half asleep, this extra step is very irkspme.

I like the interface, and the logging, it is straightforward and minimalist. The app seems to have a ton of trouble getting my heart rate when it is elevated from activity, like running. The trace coming through just looks like garbage and the numbers are all over the place. Overall it seems good for getting resting heart rate, but thats about it.

I downloaded 2 heart rate apps on my new phone and I really like this one the best. It's easy and it's very visual. In One update the stats were way off of the actual date. Feb2022 update - The statistics are closer to the accurate date, only one day off. The last update was a week off. The visual graph of heart rate is As good as usual. I've tried a couple of others but always come back to this one.

Currently have v4.4. Did it just update? I have been using it for months, loved it, and could always take screen shots of the last reading with the graphical view of the heartbeat sequence and the circle showing the average. Now that never works - the circle clears whenever I click ignore or save. The app is now almost worthless for me! I would buy this if it would save the graphical view and average, or at least allow screenshots of the average.

This app is unfortunately becoming less and less reliable. When I initially do the first test, it comes up with some crazy numbers that are nowhere near the actual rates. I have to run the cycle two or three times before it actually gives me anything close to the real numbers. I use this to test for AFib so you can imagine how alarming it is when I do the first run and it shows my pulse rate to be well over a hundred, when in reality it's more like 80. It also jumps from like 57 to 130.

Data tracking is inaccurate, one day off. Individual recordings don't give an average, but give the ending number. It can be totally goofy during the whole test but the last number is 55 and that's what you get.. However, learning to look at the graph and get an idea what it means, seeing regularity, it is useful. THE INCREASED NOISY ADS ARE AN INCREDIBLE NUISANCE. When you look @ statistics, some of the ads beep 5 seconds or other noise before you can turn them off. I MAY QUIT THE APP!!!

Not bad! Very satisfied for a smart phone app. It's not always accurate, and sometimes I'll get wildly different results from consecutive readings, but I think that's too be expected (a smartphone is not designed as a heart rate moitor). It let's you take unlimited readings, and that really makes up for inaccuracy because I can take my pulse several times in a row so I know can get an accurate result when each reading is similar. Would recommend!

It does everything it claims, quite nicely. I held back on giving 5 stars because I see room for improvement. Ability to take longer continuous readings would be nice. And it would be helpful to see fastest, average, lowest pulse rate during a long test. But thank you for a very helpful ap. And, the price is right!

From what I've experienced with this heart rate monitor, it's a great app! Does exactly what it's supposed to do. And it let's me save my heart beats/keep track of them, which I think can be really helpful for different people. I wouldn't mind the description part of "saved heart rate" to allow a little longer of a description, but maybe that's just me. All in all, solid and helpful app that does it's job!
