Have installed and uninstalled twice. The app allows me to get invested spending time plugging in all the info and answering questions for the "free 7 day trial"-- up until the part where I try to use it. At that point, hitting the "begin free trial" button just spins, then resets to "Begin free trial" again, repeatedly-- orrrr nudges me to buy a year subscription. Devs: don't ask me publicly to email you the problem. I just described it. Give me the trial so I can see if I want to subscribe.

While liking the content, I'm definitely annoyed by the "listening" feature as it keeps auto-playing every time I start the app. Just wanted to listen for a short time as I did other chores, but now it will keep playing at all times unless I manually pause; not a particularly good thing when you have a napping baby. Is there a way to remove that auto-play thing!? Tried the settings with no luck.

As intriguing as this app sounds, I'm not very pleased with my "free trial" because it's not actually free. I downloaded this app a few days ago, believing I would have the full 7 days to test it out. Unfortunately, I just noticed that I've already been charged for a year subscription, a full 5 days before that trial was supposed to end! I reached out to customer support to get refunded. I just don't like the false advertising and the confusing trial information in all of this.

Some of the content is good, but a lot of it is read by AI and it doesn't sound natural, which makes listening not a pleasant experience. However my biggest problem with the app is that it keeps crashing and autopausing. There's even videos in YouTube about how to "fix" the issue but those fixes don't always work. I've stopped using the app because of this even when I got a lifetime subscription.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The app is fine. What stinks is the subscription cancellation process. If you don't realize it, there are two cancellation pages. One for the standard subscription and one for infographics. If you don't know you paid for infographics, you will be billed for it. I signed up for the normal subscription. I canceled about 20 minutes after I signed up. Was still being billed 3+ months later without realizing it for infographics on an app I don't even use.

I too am very aggravated with this app!! It's a great way to listen to summariesfor sure. I listened on a friend's app and thought yes this is great!! I signed up for the 7 day free trial and was immediately charged. False advertising for sure. Was also given a chance to have the app for 29.99 a year which I would have done but guess what?? You cannot click on the link. Once again false advertising. You really need to improve your app. Give people what they sign up for 7 days free and discounts!

The summaries suddenly stop or reset. The app crashes. None of the add ons you're forced to pay for are in the app only in the browser. The browser. As soon as you open this app. It forces you into a subscription with no way of backing out other than closing the app. It is more of a scam to get quick payment rather than an app to learn.

Terrible. The content wasn't great, after a couple weeks I completely STOPPED using it. I ALWAYS put on my calendar when to cancel something that I'm just trying out so I DON'T get charged for a renewal. It was on my calendar to cancel and they CHARGED me. I NEVER have it on my calendar to cancel ON the renewal date. It is always in the future. They said it's in their agreement that it has to be 24 hours before renewal. I asked for a refund and I got attitude. I will NEVER use them again.

Good concept. really wanted to like it. sounded like ChatGPT summaries read by AI. The summaries were not really helpful and some of the voices were just bad or robotic. There are no book pictures/covers. These things need to be addressed to bring me back on. False advertising: promos are not accurate and charge higher than advertised. For developer: maybe list short, med, long summary options for books. 10min summary on 100 page book might be ok, but not for a 500 page book.

This app looked neat until I downloaded it. I wanted to read the books until I was prompted to pay $69.99 with no options to see sample reads. Unfortunately ill be deleting it. I dont want to pay for something not knowing if it's worth it. Esp when I clicked on a booked to read and the audio was only 13 minutes long. I can get books on Amazon for under 2.00 if I wanted a short read.

This app is a glorified scam. I signed up for what I thought was a 7-Day trial, but I didn't know (and it never stayed anywhere else) that it was only offered for the year-long subscription option, not for all subscription options. I realized my card had been charged about 36 hours later and immediately contacted them. They refused, and continue to refuse to give me a refund. Horrible business practice for a service that is already mediocre at best. Don't be fooled!

Book selection isn't good.... And the books that are on file are short and skip a lot of details. Also the AI model reading is okay, but there's plenty of better sounding models out. Also, it won't play with android auto... Too short for a long drive and then trying to find another book is worthless with all the stupid animations after hearing a book gets really old.

I paid for a full year's subscription and only got about 3 months out of it. Now when I open the app everything is grayed out. I contacted customer support via email and they provided basic troubleshooting techniques. Ultimately when their advice didn't work they suggested that it's my internet speed. I have At&t 1GB fiber in my home and I sent the proof of my internet speed. I even tried it on a different device, there's an issue with my account and they have stopped responding to my emails..

Severely disappointed with the quality of the summaries. Do yourself a favor and skip this app and read the book jacket. I thought I purchased a 14.59 subscription for a month to test it out. No, they charged me that, plus fees (expected) and an additional 69.99. To top it all off, I canceled the app in the allowed amount of time after seeing this billed to my card, and they refused a refund. I would give it no stars. Customer service is trash.

This app is immensely helpful! I feel like I've learned a lot, and have actually used the knowledge I've gained in my career. However, I'm not a fan of the AI voices as they pronounce things strangely, skip words, and sound so dry and stiff. I also would like to be able to save challenges to my library and, if possible choose a narrator. There is one male narrator who sounds like every word hurts his throat. Apologies if this voice is of a real person, and it's just the AI that's being weird.

The app functions well for what it tries to do. No bugs, smooth operation. But all of the summaries read like they were written by AI or a high schooler. The voice is odd and the sentences within a paragraph rarely flow together smoothly. It's often so bad that it detracts from the process of injesting the material. I cannot recommend paying for high school level book reports.

Update #2: streak looks like it works again! The one feature I would like to see incorporated is to be able to see my ratings for summaries in my library. Sometimes, I want to go back and check the summary because I'm interested in the full book. Having my rating listed for each summary helps me know which ones were the best (imo). That way I prioritize the book purchases.

I recently started using the Headway app and I must say, it has been a game changer for me! This app has an incredibly user-friendly interface, making it easy for me to navigate and track my progress. One of the things I love about Headway is its personalized approach to learning. The app adapts to my individual learning style and preferences, providing me with tailored content and exercises that keep me engaged and motivated. It's like having a personal language tutor in my pocket! The variet

The content here is great. I specifically like the personal challenges. I do feel the app needs some work though. If I am without internet I can sometimes not get my downloaded episodes to play. When pausing audio, if I return to the app it resumes playing automatically which can become annoying. If you remove a downloaded book from bookmarks it remains downloaded and there is no list to show what you have downloaded. Books should also delete when finished or prompt you to do so.

The app itself works well, reliably. Concept is sound and useful, and I walk away with the intro/overview intended. Selecting interest areas sets up a big list of options to "meet your mood" and the larger library is vast. I like being able to adjust speed and to toggle between just listening and reading along. But you can not choose or adjust the AI narrator voice and there are a few I literally cannot listen to. Tinny, clipped, robotic, abrasive. Too bad actual humans are just so expensive /s
