Not bad but not so good either. I was curious so I installed and plotted a route I'm very familiar with. The app made some not so smart choices. 1, it mapped over a mountainous pass (didn't seek a way not so intense). 2, through NYC it decided to take a very long way around (not necessarily in miles but NYC traffic would add 1-2 HOURS to an already 6 hour trip). It might be good for open country but around NYC and my guess with other metro areas, it may bind you up. Doesn't repl GarminDEZL

It's decent truckers app. But seriously outdated. Used it for three weeks and had alot of issues with it.• It still listed truck stops that are closed as "open", and have been closed for years. This is also true with fuel prices, which i found were 18-24 months old.•Upon approaching a turn, turn off or some other related direction change, the app is about 3 seconds too slow. You have to go 25-35mph to get the timing right.•Decided to quit using the app after it kept sending me on wrong roads.

It's good, but needs some adjustments. For starters, the HUD needs to pop up and be bigger for weigh stations, inclines, ect. It would also be nice if this feature was spoken " Weigh station in 2 miles. Reported closed" It's hard to drive and see the tiny HUD with the information on it. More voices, utilize all the text to speech out there.... especially googles. Different colors, Would like to see different color schemes. It's good but needs some polishing

It looks like they're adding ads to a marginally useful app. I did use Hammer for trip planning, but it's routing got so bad I stopped. I sent feedback multiple times about specific routings that were absolutely insane, but I never received the first response. I would check it every once in a while to see if it still didn't work. Now they want a subscription to remove ads, and the ads didn't even load correctly. Wow! They even replied, to my review. I sent in numerous errors, and no response.

As soon as I put in an address and tap get route, the screen shows 'Communication Error'. I uninstalled and re-installed, and still, I am receiving the same error message. UPDATE: The staff at Hammer was right on the ball and pushed a fix for my phone. I have not had any issues with "Communication Error" since. Accordingly, I have updated my one-star rating to a five-star rating to show my current satisfaction with the Hammer Navigation app.

Not saying good or bad as a routing app. But, routing is easy. The number of options available on the market for CMV drivers, so many of them. This is obviously aggregated data from other sources. And repackaged. That is not a bad thing. My complaint is the actual searching capability. The app does not search then sort by GPS location. 17 miles away "Walmart"? Never displayed. BP next door, Never displayed. Motel 6 across the street? Every motel 6 displayed was over 250 miles away.

Updated: The app apparently only works when using cell data, not when using wifi. I downloaded the offline maps using cell data so I have them. Would be more ideal with wifi. Also, it says at the beginning that they would rather spam your email and phone number instead of charge for it. Just seems like the 4.7 stars was for a past version and like so many good apps, they throw junk in there to milk your wallet until the app gets low ratings and they stop supporting

Just downloaded this to check it out. It definitely has a ton of potential. Unless the address is well known it doesn't take you to the correct place. Keeps suggesting addresses in completely different direction. However this app is great for everything else other than shipper/receiver locations. Looking forward to seeing how this grows. The fact is shows you restricted roads or tunnels but also weight stations and trick stops is pretty awsome. Ive been suggesting this to Google for years now

The all works good for the most part. My biggest problem is every time you put the phone on landscape or vertical, it always asks you To allow notifications and I have to constantly click the 9 every day and every time I move my phone. This is extremely frustrating because I am now having to click the deny while I'm driving and it's annoying

It's ok for the price, but it needs improvement. This app needs to collaborate with google maps. If you miss you turn, the app WILL NOT recalculate the route. It DOES NOT do voice guidance, so you have to be looking at your phone every 5 seconds to make sure your not coming up on a turn of some sort. It does look out for truck friendly roads, however the app can take you on the longer routes. Which is unnecessary.

A lot of the time, when you enter the address, it sends you to the wrong location(s) or site(s). When you edit the cursor for the truck(er) entry (the correct location), it will tell you that it's too far away from the original address, which the original address location is wrong. This app really needs an update. I use this app to plan my trips and as a secondary navigation, so it's extremely important to update the app. PLEASE UPDATE ASAP!!!

1) half the time app has trouble starting up 2) does not give you the best route 3) truck stops not updated 4) glitches - gives you the same instruction 20 times in a row before it finally shuts up 5) want to mute the vocal directions? good luck trying to turn it back on 6) it seems to always choose to fail at the exact moment I need it the most These are just the top six of my major complaints with this app. Even though I drive trucks, I'm better off with Google maps.

For a free trucking app I get what your going for but routing needs work. It's so clunky, no easy way to move stuff around without redoing the whole thing, communication error when you do and then it just does the same route originally anyways. I can forgive that but THE biggest glaring issue is it does not tell you when you're at a stop during a multiple stop route. It just keeps going like it's a giant round trip and no stops are there. I can't use it if I'm driving past my stops which I did.

Update: 03/25/24 Looks like it is working, going to run it for a week and give it a good honest review. I am hopeful for this app and looking forward to using it. Old review: Permissions not granted. Even though I select GPS permissions, it still does not start the routes. It allows me to calculate the route but when I hit go, it just goes back to the location driving mode with nothing as far as destination or guidance. It clears out the intended destination.

In the past 3-4 months Hammer has been unable to even form a route for a multitude of locations. Its been giving me a screen of "communication error". This is usually resolved by punching in the address again and it works fine. App is up to date without any data or Wi-Fi connection issues. This morning however, it has failed to work at all. Even with uninstalling, restarting my phone, and reinstalling. Hammer has been reliable up to this point, it's a shame it's no longer.

Best app I didnt know I needed! It gets the job done when there's a road closure that the other gps hasn't picked up on yet. And it's great to see the weather in the area. Wish I had downloaded this earlier. It beats trying to use Google maps to get out of a tight spot. Also, having the location of all the bridge weights and heights in the area at a glance is definitely a first for me and a game changer for sure.

I tried this app over 3 years ago and deleted it because there were issues. Just tried it again, and it hasnt improved. I set a route that Im familiar with, which includes a path around a nearby city that trucks MUST use, but this app routes you right through town anyway. Even Google Maps routes cars around that bypass as it's much quicker. So not only will the app not find the quickest path, but it won't even show you the legal path. Using this app will get you a ticket. 100% do not recommend.

Just started driving, and my dispatch told me to try this. For the most part, i am really happy with it. This last trip to California, it brought through a residential area to a dead-end street to the back of the building i needed to be at. Overall, I like it. The ETA are pretty good 3 and 4 days out. My truck can only go 70,and it gets them right. Not sure how it knows i can't go the speed limit on some of those western highways, but i have been able to count on the eta when im managing my time

seems to be one of the better apps out there, not perfect but good. I have been noticing that thw routing sometimes gets discombobulated and will have you getting off and vack on interstates and circling blocks for no reason. You have to make certain before you start driving that you double check the whole route for these if you are traveling to a place you arent familier with or you will be frustratred, and to try and adjust a screwed up route while driving is not recommend or easy.

This app is extremely good. I use it as an O/O for all my daily loads. I never have to worry about going down a narrow street for cars only, a low bridge, or any tolls. I can also change it to satellite view and select multiple ways to get to my destination if there's more than one way to get there. I highly suggest using this as a main or alternative GPS in the event you want a stress free drive operating a commercial vehicle.
