The Halifax Mobile Banking app can do everything you’d expect, maybe a little extra. And you can use it whenever and wherever you want. So you can crack on if you’re on the bus, at work or simply can’t tear yourself away from the telly.

New to this app? No problem. Just register your device and you’re ready to go. For this you’ll need:
- An up-to-date phone number registered with us
- Halifax UK personal account
- Online Banking username, password and memorable information (you can create these in the app)
- A device that isn’t rooted.

CONTACTING YOU
We won't contact you any more than normal if you use the app. But please stay alert to email, text messages or phone calls that appear to be from us. Criminals may try to trick you into giving them sensitive personal or account information. We'll never contact you to ask for these details. Any emails from us will always greet you personally using your title and surname and either the last 4 digits of your account number or the last part of your postcode '*** 1AB'. Any text messages we send you will come from Halifax .

The App was good, but stopped accepting my fingerprint a couple of weeks ago. Annoying when other apps using fingerprint access work just fine. Then starting yesterday after the latest update "bug fixes", the App will nolonger works. Update - App working again after update which is great, however fingerprint access still not working :(

When making a payment or paying a bill at the end of the month over the weekend or bank holiday, the transactions are not shown causing much confusion. Whilst I understand that the payment will not be completed until the next working day, it would be helpful to see the transaction on the app. The account balance is after all debited. Many customers use online banking during these hours so the app would benefit us greatly if payments are reflected in real time. Otherwise friendly interface.

Update: thank you for your response. I am finally able to access my account through the app. However, it still skips the biometric stage and requires my memorable information each time I log in. Not the end of the world, but frustrating. This is how the app was before it stopped working completely. If you are able to resolve this issue and return the app to its previous full functionality that would be great, thank you.

UPDATE: thanks to another reviewer i can log in. Still not fixed but it's doable. If like me you use a custom DNS you need to switch it off or back to "Automatic". Halifax/Lloyds still need to fix this issue as I use my adblock DNS for a reason so keep switching isn't ideal. Not been able to log in to the app since 28th June. Cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled, just not working.

Very useful and quick to use. However trying to use the camera to pay in cheques proved impossible even after many attempts. This aspect of the software needs improvement, hence 4 stars. Edit: There was a recent problem with the App not opening, but this has now been fixed by the devs. Thanks for the quick response.

Won't let me sign in gets to the security call section and when I input the 4 digit code it keeps saying opps something went wrong. I've tried over 10 times today and still nothing. Also all your help pages say to sign into the app for help how is that helpfull when I can't get into the app. Wish I hadn't moved to halifax.

All was good for >3 years, until the 27 Jun software update. Now the App stopped working. Hangs on the blue login screen and that is where it stays. Both mine and my wife's. Hence not my phone, OS or data contact. Same happens on two different phones, data contracts, operating systems. Must be the last App release?

This app keeps crashing and unable to load on Xiaomi 13 phone. I've deleted and reinstalled but nothing working. It works fine on my tablet and desktop computer. Please advise. Today is the 8/8/24 and the app is still not working properly on my device even though I have selected the option for Biometric it doesn't let me use it and can only log in with the password. Very disappointed

The update of 25/06/2024 has turned what was a useable app into a time waster. Tried several times and it just sits on the "HELLO" screen (gave up after waiting 15 minutes). This was supposed to improve performance but has done the opposite. UPDATE: As suggested on another review, the use of adblockers causes this problem. Having logged in once with my adblocker turned off I can now log in with the adblocker reinstated.

I am unable to get past the hello screen for the last few days but before this issue the app was working fine. I have reinstalled the app and still the same issue. When the app works it is a good app with an intuitive UI. Easy to find what you need without having to go through lots of options. Updated app and it now works

It is a nice and easy to use app. Mostly reliable. Please fix the issue at "Send money to" where the list after a recent sign out doesn't load. It would be a great addition if the recipients had a rename or tag function as currently you cannot tell which account you sending to unless you memorise the account details of a person with multiple accounts.

This app was working fine until a few days ago but will now not start at all (Pixel 6a). I've tried clearing the cache etc and reinstalled the app 3 times but still no success. All I get is the endless revolving wheel syndrome and it will not start. UPDATE. The problem appeared to be because of the DuckDuckGo app tracking system. Once turned off all was well. Mainly Adobe tracking! 👎😠

This app was perfectly fine until a few days ago. I can now no longer open the app. I just get the blue loading screen, not even getting to the login page. I have uninstalled it, cleared cache etc and reinstalled it but no joy. Having to carry out transactions via the website now, which if nowhere near as streamlined and very frustrating. Prior to this, the app was brilliant - did everything you need a banking app to do.

The app works well most of the time. I do have difficulty viewing a secure message without downloading. Also since installing the app on a new android phone it will not allow me to log in using fingerprint, although I have set it up in the app settings. Inconvenient having to enter memorable information every time. It always worked fine on my iPhone.

Application stopped working altogether. It just hangs on the initial screen and never goes beyond that point when the spinner/loader appears. Tried clearing cache, then clearing all data, then reinstalling - none of it helped. Nothing obvious had changed in the device. P.S. Good app overall. I'd really like the ability to reorder layout of the main screen (e.i. shuffle around different account 'cards').

On the whole the app is fine. Two main issues. FIRSTLY, messages not marked as read unless you download a pdf (a statement or whatever) to phone. I don't want to do this as I don't feel this is safe. So I currently have 33 unread messages (all of which have actually been read!). SECONDLY, it's REALLY annoying to have the app try to automatically take a photo when depositing a cheque. Always gets it wrong. Just let me line everything up first and then let me press a button to capture.

Some annoying problems with this app. If you minimise the app, to use a calculator for example, it forces you to login again when you return to it. Particularly annoying if you're in the habit of double-checking figures. Text alerts from the app are unreadable. If you tap on them it takes you to the login screen. After logging in they're impossible to find, rendering text alerts pointless.

I have reason to believe that the app is no longer compatible with DuckDuckGo app tracking protection. Recently, I could no longer get to the log in screen, despite reinstalling and restarting my phone. Having disabled protection for this app, it now lets me log in. Only time will tell if this has completely solved my problem EDIT 3Jul: When I open the app with tracking protection enabled, it sticks at the spinning lock screen. As soon as I disable protection, it gets to the sign in screen. QED

Everything was fine but now the app keeps closing as soon as I open it. I'm running android 14. Can't do anything on this app. Just closes immediately. Not good for a banking app. Update. Just reinstalled app and not impressed I can't change my username from random numbers that I will have to write down and enter each time. Not a good app update. Thousands of customers having to reinstall their banking app.

Received confusing correspondence re account. Told to contact bank by 4/9/24 - later told (by phone) no action possible until 6/9. Tried at least 10 times, on different days to complete login using app. Received 2 activation codes that didn't work. Tried to get help in branch and by phone- no help at all. Really frustrating experience .Thinking of closing all accounts. Really annoyed with the utter waste of my time. This site is also playing up!
